Sign Me up Please. Kalden ^^ If email is needed, i will be more than glad to give it away.
I'm interested in joining because for one, it seems vtgaming has some really really good players like Huk, attero, Arlok (spelled wrong), but I'm just looking for a team in which I can train and get better at this game. Much thanks.
Lol sounds like a nice event, I'll be sure to check it out. I'll play if you can't find anyone better than 1600 rating :p
id like to participate, got access to us, although ive been playing mostly playing euro tournaments so far. 6th go4sc2 overall ranking and first on german national teamranking atm
had like ~2100 before reset i think
Id like to participate if there is a chance. I was 1975 rating prepatch.
Sounds cool, to watch or play in. Please sign me up.
I would like to participate if at all possible, I have recently began to improve a lot, going from a top 10 terran to a #1 platinum terran (patch 12) to a #1 Diamond terran. I have a few builds which I want to test against top players, so besides the ordinary, I think I can bring the innovative to this tournament (not that I don't think other players invited can, they are awesome players). If you need any more information or would like to see some of my games, pm me. Thanks for hosting this awesome tournament!
Edit: I also played against Arloc in a showmatch a few days ago, I think he might be on vT, someone else mentioned him. Edit: Other notable things, finished top 32 in a craftcup where I lost to Jinro, beat huk on the ladder.

I would like to participate. I was around 2k ELO plat before reset

Thanks for doing this, it's awesome and I was waiting for something like this to happen.
If you run out of obvious choices you could of course consider holding a little qualifier tourney/round robin.

I would like to play. I was 26-4 1650 pre-patch, and near the end I was consistantly beating ~1900 rating players (it matched me up against them due to my record). Currently 12-3 (had one disc in an undecided game, so really 12-2) after the patch, ~100 pts in diamond
Hey guys, slained here, i've played a lot with you guys, you know i can do good, let me know if i can partake,

We should do a tournament for the remaining spots, otherwise the remaining spots will probably end up going to people such as slained that everyone knows. Even if we did a tournament, the best players would most probably take the spots anyways right? Its your tourny though, so your choice though

Yes I am him, and no, I am not trying to showboat a lucky game. Sorry if I lose a showmatch at 2 am, I usually play best when I'm about to fall asleep and am told I have a showmatch in five minutes (I still don't know what it was for, what kind of us tournament takes place after midnight lol). And no I didn't get lucky. You went all-in play almost every game, that's why you picked blistering sands, so you could all-in through the backdoor. I'll re any time, guarantee that the results will be different when I'm actually awake lol. And as for showboating a lucky game, I can send you replays of me beating people like huk and jinro.

is this tournament going to be postponed due to all of the Bnet issues? Bnet has basically been unplayable since the previous patch (and is still having issues, likely up until tomorrow at the earliest), which basically means Thursday night/Fri morning was the last time you could play. i dunno about others but I hoped to practice some with the latest patch and specifically for this tourney, and personally I just finished my finals a few days ago as well so I'm especially out of practice
Yes please postpone the tournament. It's basically unplayable =(
Nice event, good Luck with Bnet.

Hopefully they'll get started on this crap early and be done before 4 at least.

thanks for the invite. had to decline cause of the time but if it gets rescheduled to another day or at a later time and if there is still a slot open i'd love to play. it's probably full by now tho so thx again anyway

How are we suppose to notify VT people when no one provided their email (w. recent reset only can add friends via email) and is this really going to happen? Half the games i've done today my minimap was completely pitch black, atleast game freezes/crashes seem to have been fixed.

With a little effort, you could've gotten a much better player list. Signing up your whole team and then random people that beg for a spot in a tl.net thread is kinda the ultimate laziness! How many people were actually invited, like 25%? I guess by the ro8/ro4 some good matches should be up anyway.
^^ Maybe they just wanted a more open Tournament. You do know there are more people then just the "known" people who can play? Good talk.

Er, the player list looks pretty solid to me, there are lots of reputable players in there, and just because someone isn't well-known does not mean that they are poor players. For instance, look at neans, one of the invitees who 'begged for a spot' in this thread. I had no clue who he was before a week ago, and you may not know him either, but considering he was the #1 player in ELO on the ladder in patch 12, I would defintitely call him a good player.

wheres the bracket for this, its not on the website anywhere that I can see

It will be up in about 30 ish minutes.

Yeah I'm not saying it's shit. It's just less than perfect. I mean, the point of this thread is to discuss the tournament, no? If there's some way it could be improved, this is exactly the appropriate spot to critique it. Not everything has to be read like it's personal and dramatic and shit. I'm just saying that if they wanted to invite better players, they could have. Mainly I'm thinking about the Euro players. If they didn't let any Euro players in, ok np, it's a NA tournament. But they did let some lesser known Euro players in, but they didn't get TLO white-ra dimaga demuslim etc etc?! Just seems lazy to me. Those players are willing to spend all day playing in a 100 euro Zotac/craftcup tournament, so this tournament ought to be worth it to them too. Who knows, maybe a lot of top people turned invites down and it just didn't work out.
Maybe I'm just focusing on the word "invitational" too much. TL.net runs their invitationals a bit differently. If you look at the 32 players tl.net nabbed for their invitationals (16 for EU tournament, 16 for NA) it is obviously way more impressive than this. Why is this? I could have been more diplomatic than immediately saying it was laziness, but whatever.

Yeah and then it's a matter of catering to their schedules... how much did you adjust the date and time based on what was good for them?
My opinion is that it's not impossible to set up a more stacked 32 person line-up. So it was possible to do better. So at some point you just said "well this is good enough. we couldn't really fill out the whole bracket with invites, so let's just fill it out with sign-ups"
Anyway, whatever. As usual, any attempt at saying something useful that also involves saying something negative is always met with a bunch of cynicism and emotions and drama and other bullshit. If this was the best you could do, it was the best you could do. It's wayyyyyy better than nothing. I don't want to take any of these tournaments for granted. I get a grin on my face every time I see another one announced. I've only been playing in a small fraction of them so it's not even about me -- it's just cool to know they're there. But at some point, I thought "well let's make all these as badass as possible. if there's something less than perfect, it's ok to point it out by now" But then I realize it's the internet, etc.

Most intelligent post I've read in a while. It's important to not interpret his post as an attack, but instead as constructive criticism for future tourneys. We all appreciate this tourney and the efforts of everyone involved, as he's already stated, so don't take it the wrong way
We were restrained by time because Blizzard has stated it's taking down the beta, and we wanted to have it happen before beta closed.
Also, we have to avoid stepping on the toes of other tournaments that usually take place on the weekends. We decided to go with a Monday event.

I could have been more diplomatic than immediately saying it was laziness, but whatever. we did invite TLO and top euro players and top Asian players TLO was busy today and other players too. Yeah and then it's a matter of catering to their schedules... how much did you adjust the date and time based on what was good for them? My opinion is that it's not impossible to set up a more stacked 32 person line-up. So it was possible to do better. So at some point you just said "well this is good enough. we couldn't really fill out the whole bracket with invites, so let's just fill it out with sign-ups" Anyway, whatever.
EDIT: Nevermind

I can tell you just from looking behind-the-scenes at some major tournaments, the tournament organizers have to be insanely persistent and nagging on every player they want in their tournament. Players are super lazy and forgetful and disorganized. Tournament organizers have to hunt down every email address / MSN / forum ID that they can find and bombard people with notices. It would be really nice if the players took the initiative but it can't be relied upon.
Anyway, I'll certainly be picking up this replay pack and enjoying the games of some of my fav players that are in this tournament =]
Is there going to be some updated brackets or anything like that?
edit: woops, they're on the front page.
Brackets are on the front page of the VT site
Brackets up on the vT site. They look interesting. Some hard games in the first round that I would of liked to see in the semi's or final, such as huk/moo etc. but i think the top half of the draw is the harder. Good luck all, getting a beer to sit down and watch 6 hours of SC

Sorry just showed up, internet was down, getting on beta now.

How are you supposed to contact your opponent with out their e-mail?
Ok, I sent my email. I am currently installing the latest patch, because I got home and my internet was down (first time in months), so I drove to a friends house, but he hasn't played in a while so it has to download the patch, which it is doing now.

Got you mixed up with Kau =D
wow, quite a game Attero vs SUGGY
GdR vs LZgamer (40 min game and a 20 min game, thus far) is really epic guys btw, make sure to check the replay pack after the event.
btw how do i get in contact with qxc?
Already did it LZ just stay on bnet you will be contacted.
Wish there were more casters :/ aw well, at least the rep pack will be good.
check the main thread new streams are gonna be posted.
My prediction, kiwikaki/huk vs qxc/cauthonluck
Whiplash is streaming check his stream on the right side of TL page.
so which one is the stream? I have 3 different streams opened that are all playing different games.
oh man :O props to everyone playing even throughout terrible bnet/lag... =)

all the 3 on the side
HuK kicks Attero. GJ HuK 1800 people waiting for you to play and you kick the Observer.
GG Huk, what a childish thing to do because he tabbed to fix the stream. And didnt lag for the rest of the game.
1800 people wanting to watch your game.
That's one way to make a fool of yourself.

you're going to get warned/banned for that post...
and personally, if I find an ob lags, whether they are casting nor not, I'd ask them to leave if it was a game that mattered.
except he wasnt lagging, he tabbed right at the beginning to fix an issue with the stream, and then didnt lag for the rest of the game
cool tournament so far except for the streaming problems ;p
I keep bouncing from stream to stream trying to find one that stays up as they keep going down ;/
still grateful for the entertainment just wish it could have been planned better.
thx for the nice tournament admins
looking forward for next cups in future
Thanks for the tourny hope the Huk, Attero issue isn't going to be a main talking point for the tourny.
one of these days im going to learn/understand tvt.. and then i will be a all around solid gamer! lol
Whiplash streaming 1 semi-final, Attero streaming the other.
Are there brackets for this anywhere?
Whos playing in the semis?
brackets are on the vt site
OMG those banelings just melted.
wow virii haven't seen you in a long time
check the vT site for everything.
He should have sniped the top planetary fortress with those banelings.
Now imagine twice as many roaches...
Cool thanks for the link guys, Kuo, been a while... finally found time to come back when I got my beta invite Now I'm addicted again.
Na the roaches aren't the problem the manager is right he should have been more patient or like Attero said taken care of the vikings with corruptor.

haha great
Wtf he is saying Hell- Lions, Broodlets and Vikahns.
to answer painuser's question: u deal with it by tapping the g key twice. lol@mass broodlords. gl even getting there.
The zerg player would have done great with flanks when the tanks were unsieged. Attacking a seige tank saturated army head-on is never good.
I love qxc's macro-oriented TvZ play. Also, lol four ultras vs. like 20 tanks
I don't really know about his TvP.
this game is completely broken to be honest.
This tournament is so friggan ghetto, lol.

1-1 qxc vs kiwikaki
attero streaming

Frank has no emotions. Attero banned and dropped during a game. Attero loses with a bit of lag and complains about it the rest of the tournament. Announces everytime he comes back. Just not professional, but luckly the players were fun to watch!

Because you'll also have twice as much larva and resources magically spawn out of nowhere right?
Seriously do the math, the 'nerf' just makes it so you have to build overlords sooner, cutting down on roach production somewhat, but not by 50%
stopped watching after my post, but add Pooplord's post to my list:-p
Just tuned in, whats the score ?
uuuugh kiwikaki's play on steppes is sooooooooooo boring
bleh, stream not loading... keeps showing screenshots of the game but no actual gameplay... wthell
seriously how can protoss players complain about marauders
great tourney with some really entertaining games. Final match was a bit anticlimactic with those forcefields but whatever. gw and ty alot!
Gz KiWiKaKi, must be annoying to pop back every few seconds to recast FF's, but has greate effect. I rly liked the end of the Metalopils game, greate comeback.
qxc is really strong but kiwikaki has pointed out quite a few weaknesses in his play this series.
So I hear the way to beat Attero is with AltTab... haha
Thanks vT for the games and I hope things run a bit smoother next time! gg's
It was a really great tournament. Too bad this is all coming to an end for a while
Thanks to everyone for tuning in. After the first round it went much smoother, and the finals was really great and entertaining! We will be hosting an even BIGGER tourney upon release, so stay tuned for news on that. Replay pack will be release Tuesday.
Congrats to Kiwikaki, QXC and Strifecro on their winnings.
Big thanks to everyone involved in making this event a success

I feel bad about the servers crapping on all the tournaments today
Overall it was pretty good though. Thanks for the run guys, but I don't get it, beta isn't over yet!!

Great tournament, guys.. I really enjoy watching Attero's stream.. was interesting to see him juggle playing and casting other games.
Part of this tournament was to showcase the vT Gaming Team and you guys did a great job of that; however, this is one of the first times I've seen a semi-comprehensive list of the vT Gaming members. Sure we see them in various vT Triple Strike teams and from watching the streams and following forum threads you generally know who's a part of vT.. but the website isn't helping that at all. I'd really like to see a very simple section on the website that lists the vT roster and maybe even the events you guys are taking place in and how they turned out.
I even tried registering a forum account on vtgaming.net and most of the content I was looking for was hidden in the members only area. I'd love to be a bigger fan of vT gaming, but I think you guys are limiting your own exposure a bit from the lack of info available on the site.
Hope this helps.. keep up the great work!

Thank you for the suggestions, during the downtime of Sc2 we are going to revamp the site. So I greatly appreciate your suggestion or any others.
Thank you :D
