Really enjoying the tournament so far HD and Husky.

I was looking around on your channels (and this thread) and I noticed a few people suggesting a "fake" 3rd (or however many to make it a full series) game to be posted along with the real ones of the series so as to hide the results of the series from those yet to watch it. I can't help but think this would be a great idea, as I often find myself trying to hide my eyes from the list of games just to keep the suspense.

For those who would cry, "Just watch the stream, silly noob!" some of us do suffer from lag and/or work, but are still very excited about this tournament.

Again, love what you guys are doing, keep up the good work.
Guess who`s special?!

1) These are professional players, not some no-names. It's White-Ra, TLO, IdrA and Nony ffs. Telling me that any of these guys will open the stream and cheat is beyond my imagination.
2) These players have a great future and big plans for SC2 ahead. Will they risk to lose it all for 1500$?
3) 1500$ isn't a big prize at all ... can you understand that? It's simply not worth to waste your SC2 career for 1500$ (which again ... you're not guaranteed to win even with hacks).
4) All other tournaments so far have been streamed live and I don't remember any player to be suspected or caught hacking (maybe Moman ... just kidding!).
5) If they really want to cheat, there are undetectable map hacks available already ... much easier alternative.
6) They are not hacking experts. It's hard not to get suspicious to viewers, when you don't have experience with hacking. It's a lot of stress, you can't focus on your game etc etc.

I could think of more reasons but that's enough. I hope HDH considers it and will at least make the final live (and maybe the second semifinal too). Just imagine seeing Idra-Nony live rather than recorded 2 days later.

Seriously, get real. There are plenty of reasons to NOT do it, all of which have been listed and repeated countless times.

Also, Blizzard posted one of the matches on their Facebook page. :D

Blizzard talked about the HDH Invitational on their StarCraft II website.

However they fail to mention Husky.
Also whats ridiculous is they deleted my bracket thread on the forums because I was advertising. Now they are advertising it....

Most accurate translation evar! Good job man, there are not that many people who speak Pansynese so well and can translate things to plain english for the rest of us.

That being said, the tournament is really great for normal standards and plain awesome considering that we are talking about a game in Beta! Keep up the good work!

In the first WhiteRa v Tasteless match, HD saw a citadel near the end of the match and suggested that Tasteless was transitioning to DTs. This was while WhiteRa had units pouring into his base and Tasteless was fighting for his life. With the amount of time a shrine would have taken to build and the fact he had about 10 probes left, the suggestion was facepalm worthy.

Please, please learn more about the game. Until then, stick to play-by-plays, because making insights that end up being completely wrong just makes you seem foolish.

Actually, if you ask Tasteless himself, he admits that he was planning to transition into DTs I would not have made that comment without advance knowledge otherwise.

Haha well that sums up my views pretty well. Cyclone do you ever NOT complain about something? SC2 forum emo kid over here.

Also, for HD and Husky, just finished your RO8 VODs. Keep up the fantastic work, the quality of your commentating is also getting better and better! Can't wait for RO4, good luck with the streaming

Not to "feed the troll" or anything, but comments like this are simply ridiculous and idiotic. First of all, no one is forcing you to listen to the VOD's. If they are so "painful to listen to" ....stop listening to them..?? Your tone implies as if someone is holding a gun to your head forcing you to watch this tournament and it’s causing you great internal pain. I will admit Husky and HD aren't Day[9] in terms of technical knowledge and super in-depth analysis, but they don’t try to be. Nowhere do they claim to bring super intense insight or revolutionary discourse when commentating games, as you apparently feel every game of theirs should be. They are fun to listen to and nearly every one of all skills levels can enjoy and follow what’s happening in these high level games.

Also, mistakes will be made, people are people, even you sir troll, who evidently never ever makes mistakes, ever. For example just the other day with the Team Liquid Invitational, Djwheat was commentating on most of the games and did a very legity job, however he quite frequently called Terran bunkers "barracks". I know he is relatively new, but nearly every Terran game where there were bunkers present, he called them barracks’s. Was this a mistake, obviously, did it make the game "painful to watch", deserving of intense trolling/flaming, hardly.

Although it’s been said many times already, HD and Husky are doing their very best to bring us these games at the expense of their own time. Show a little appreciation for this hard work and stop with the inane trolling. HD and Husky you guys are kickass, keep it up.

Why don't you make your own commentaries. With what you said made us really think that you could do better. You would not tell them to learn more if you're inferior, right?

Interesting map number 2 for the Ro4

Scrap Station is one of those maps that allows for some crazy plays, so in a Best of 5 it'll be interesting to see if the winner in the first map tries something high-risk high-reward to try and steal the lead or stay doing relatively normal things - a little different to how the MLG does it, with Desert Oasis being map number 4 in their pool (unless they've changed it) to try and encourage players who are 3-0 to try something crazy.

Surprised to see Lost Temple as map number 5, too, but I guess it makes sense - that final nail-biter being on perhaps the current flagship "normal" map in the beta.

Can hardly wait, I know I'll be tuning in to the live stream, you guys are doing great things for SC2 with this, keep it up.

This is crap, there have been tons of great insights from HD and Husky, they get it wrong every now and then like any commentator in any professional sport. Ever watch motor racing? commentators are always trying to guess tyre and pitstop strategies and getting it wrong, it doesn't mean that they have horrible knowledge of the sport, that's just what makes sport exciting is its unpredictability even to people who know it inside out.

That said I just watched the Cauthon/TLO games again and HD and Husky were spot on in a lot of their calls, they knew the hellion harass was going to be blocked on the ramp by the queens for example, they knew exactly who was ahead at what point in the game, they made some great calls regarding which attacks were going to fail and succeed. I think people don't give these guys enough credit because they aren't top players themselves, and therefore pick on them when they make an occasional wrong call. In actual fact I think they are just as clued in as a lot of top players would be because of the number of games they've watched and commentated on.

You have to take HD & Husky for what they are, mediocre players. They are literate in Starcraft, they general know what they are talking about. Cut the guys some slack, they aren't top-tier players, they are commentators. If you find yourself being annoyed by their commentary the mute button is always available. They're doing a great thing for the community and we should be glad they have dedicated their time to do so.
Thanks Husky & HD, keep up the good work.

I would just appreciate the replays, and you know, not 25 days later. To people protecting poor commenting, suggesting not to watch the stream, etc..

How are you going to review/keep track of those top players or tournaments if said streamers have streaming exclusivity? Everyone has the right for an opinion, as long as its somewhat civil and respectful.

While I appreciate everything Husky and HD have done to popularize SC2 and make a great tournament with a deep prize pool, some of these VODs are downright painful to listen to. Most of the commentary is very uninspired and is mostly a play-by-play. When they try to make more insightful commentary, they end up saying something completely nonsensical.

Interesting, considering the awful time investment and the fact that he was being hardcore pressured by a 1-base, 4-warp gate build... Maybe I need to relisten, but I remember it sounding like you were just speculating after having seen the citadel. If not, then I apologize for that specific instance, but I still stand by what I said in that you guys still have a lot of high-level knowledge to learn before you become truly great commentators. Great job with this tournament though. The level of professionalism and the prize pool is really spectacular.

And to everyone saying I should make my own commentaries or shut up: that's not the point of criticism. The same could be said to commentating in general. Why should commentators be able to criticize the play of professionals when they probably can't do it any better themselves? Not to say I'm in that league, and I was probably too harsh in my initial post, but come on...
