iokke United States1179 Posts June 16 2011 21:34 GMT #42 Another reason why he does it (or used to do it) that was not mentioned is inviting ling aggression. He opens without a choke, when zerg sees it he may chose to build more lings instead of drones thinking he can do a good amount of damage. Since Ra walls off later zerg usually does not succeed and ends up with fewer workers. I'm paraphrasing white-ra here, and it also happened to me on the ladder a few times. Fun to see all those lings outside of ur base but not able to do any damage edit - obviously this benefit diminishes for Ra since ppl can expect a wall off knowing how he plays
