If i go for a +2 blinkstalkers timing attack on tal'darim alters where the zerg tried a 2 base hydra/ling + nydus and i reach his base just as he nyduses me, should I base trade or defend?
IMO you might want to just base trade. Take out the nydus network ASAP. Either you run back and defend a half destroyed base, making you lose because you are so weakened, or you go for the base trade and attempt to win. The best chance you have is to take out that nydus network fast so he cant instantly pull all his units back, while trying to defend as much as you can back at base. Because there is the possibility it isnt a complete base trade if you defend. Or he will run back into nydus network once you start attacking.
Those are the kind of in game decisions that you just have to really decide in the moment though. They dont come up too often, but you just have to go with your gut and there isnt usually a right answer for all situations. Long distances usually just leaves you running back for 30 seconds to a destroyed base, and then he makes another army with his fully functioning base. ESPECIALLY if he is smart with the nydus network and when he sees you coming with your army he instantly pulls his guys back into the network. Just save your probes and pray that your army is stronger then his. and do NOT let your last building fall (even if it means starting to build assimilators on random points on the map to delay it).

In PvZ, when zerg gets a little bit of a lead and gains map control, how can you control creep spread? I generally find my army floating along my natural and 3rd (and sometimes main if they go muta) and unable to prevent massive creep spread across the entire map.
Unrelated: if you block communication with someone, will you get matched up in a teamgame with them on your team? Stargate openings are very popular, you could look into that.
Instead of committing to stargate tech, occasionally I just make one voidray with an observer to clear creep/watchtowers. The more popular thread is to follow the void with ~4 phoenixes to deny any attempts at a 3rd.
That said, I personally don't open Stargate very often in PvZ. My favourite opening is a 3gate DT expand with sentries. Offers similar things as stargate tech: grants map control, delays zerg's 3rd, chance to do critical damage if unscouted. Note that you need double gas before cybernetics to open DTs and still make sentries. At lower levels, you can make stalkers instead of sentries, but it's too much of a give away at higher levels. You are trying to make it look like a sentry expand.

what fingers do you use when you hit 1a2a3a4a? I've been using my thumb on a and my other four fingers on 1 2 3 and 4 but it feels a bit awkward.

In PvT in a MMM ball vs stalker zealot sentry archon composition, is it better to make stalkers focus the medivacs rather than the bio units or is it better to 1a and forcefield?

Hi I am a new member, Silver #2 but still have ALOT to learn. Since I cannot create a new topic in 3 days (Just registered, I hope I can ask here because if I don't, I will definitely forget about it 3 days later)
Can any pro watch my 2v2 replay and tell me about some mistakes that I did?
I know I have made some pretty bad mistakes here that even I myself is aware of: - Scouting but not really noticing the early Forge for Protoss. (I was basically just sending the probe out to check for early spawning pool but didn't focus on Protoss after that, choosing to focus on my macro) - Sending too many probes to attack the proxy pylon cannon? - Leaving 1 probe not doing anything somewhere in the middle.

If possible, do PM or reply on the replay download page. Any constructive comments will be appreciated! Thanks.

Why do some players start sc2, start a game against the computer, look around the map, then leave after 10-30 seconds? Is it to warm up some part of their computer?

Yes, I know a couple of persons who say that their computer laggs a couple of seconds in the first game of the day so they just load up a match vs the ai to don't lose those first second in a match that counts.

How do I stop Microsoft Word from autocorrecting all my words from UK English to US English?
For example, the word realise will be autocorrected to realize.
I've tried changing the default language to UK English but it still doesn't prevent the autocorrecting from happening. This is a pain as I'm writing a 50,000 word thesis and would not like to have to go over it to check the spelling everytime I write a vaguely English word.
Thanks in advance.

Type in the word "realise" and when it changes it to "realize", put your mouse over the first letter. A blue line should appear under the letter. Move your mouse over the line and a box will appear with a lightning bolt in it with an arrow to the side. click the arrow and you can click "Stop Automatically Correcting "realise" and it will remove that word from the list it has of "misspellings" to auto-correct.
If you want to completely turn off auto-correcting, click the arrow in the lightning box again and select "Control AutoCorrect Options..." and deselect the box that says "Replace text as you type" (7th checkbox down on my version of Word) and it should stop doing it. However, it will not undo the auto-correcting it has already done before you unchecked the box. Hope this helps and good luck with you thesis! :D
Feel free to PM me if you have any problems or questions, ill check after each game as I am about to ladder for a bit

uhh... Assuming you are right handed like me (as in you hold your mouse in your right hand and use your left hand for keyboard controls), I use my pinky for the A. Then for 1 I use my ring finger, 2 I use my ring finger again, 3 I use my middle finger, and 4 I use my index finger.
So it goes Ring Finger, pinky (A), Ring finger, pinky, Middle finger, pinky, index finger, pinky.
I have never actually thought about how I do that lol. I play piano so using all my fingers efficiently just comes naturally to me... But if you are left handed (so you use your right hand on the keyboard) I have no idea... Either you are bending your fingers in weird ways to hit A with your thumb, or you are left handed lol. Hope this helped.

I have a question... No idea if it has been answered (I don't want to dig through 269 pages of posts, but from what I have seen it hasn't).
But does concussive shells slow down charging zealots mid charge? Like if concussive shell hits before the zealot charges, will the charge itself be slower? What about if it hits while the zealot is in the middle of the charge? Will the zealot suddenly slow down a little?

Is there any high master Zergs who would be willing to look at a compilation of about 5 ZvZs and try to tell me what's wrong with my ZvZ? In a thread ofcourse.
Also while I'm here, when can I transition to roaches in ZvZ off a speedling expand? vs either another sling exand or a fast expand, how many drones do i need and what not? also when should i go banelings in zvz off a sling expand and when shouldn't I?

how much seconds it takes for 1 worker to mine once without travel?

In GSL, Nestea vs Ensnare, I saw that Nestea planted his Evo-chamber and Infestation-pit in the middle of his base on Crevasse, why did he do that? It seems more "sniped-able", especially vs a terran.

the taldarim altar version that was used has a smaller ramp at natural compared to ladder version ( tbh and literally he blocked it off with a forge gateway and a pylon , u cant do that in laddder version) ( i checked it u need one more structure in ladder version which means u can never block it off even if u scout it.) and it was close position so huk scouted pool b4 it even finished ........ if we get cross or maybe even we scout last then what..... ?

Just make a help thread and see if you get responses.
If a ZvZ stabalizes there comes a point where you have to switch to roaches (or a ton of spines and mutas but that's more gimmicky imo). If you feel your safe and the opponent can't break your defense it's a good point to tech to roaches. If the opponent has switched to roaches and you can't break him anymore with speedlings you have to tech to roaches as well.
note: On some maps like Taldarim it's more difficult to defend runby's with roaches so I don't know how it would work on that map. Maybe you can make a wall with evo chamber/roach warren to be safe.

Then you're pretty much screwed. Luck sucks sometimes.
