Changeling Ramp Block

I was playing a zvp and I spotted my opponent going for dt. I had an overseer at my main and an expo, when he saw the one at the main next to a bunch of hydras he sent all six dark templar to my expo were I only had a sunken and queen to defend. In a spur of the moment move I dropped four changelings and another four when my other overseer got there and the time it took him to figure out what was happening and to kill most of the changelings the sunken colony and queen had widdled his forces down enough that he had to run away.
I'm wondering if anyone else has used changelings to block ramps or any other non recon purposes?

in non-serious games were i had like 10 overseers towards then end and just needed to delay some harass i just drop out like 40changling and hold position in ramp, maybe even patrol like 1mm forward so its hard to click then... save some precious time if nothing else

I use changelings to hold Xel naga towers.
Especially good on metalopolis where you can hold both xel naga with 1 overseer.

I've had that done to me, but I find, it's not extremely game breaking, unless those 5-10 seconds (more if your not looking) is when the game is being decided.

Well the thing is, in a lot of situations, if you had the overseers, the changelings would be awesome.
For example, if you were playing against protoss, and using a ranged combination, such as for example roach-hydra, having a bunch of changelings at the front would be really great to mitigate damage from the zealots. Even if your opponent does micro, and one-shot them to move into melee range, he is wasting precious micro, apm, and unit attacks.
But in most situations, 1 or 2 overseers are all you will build, not more. So then its really hard to have enough changelings to do anything useful with them, other than scouting.

My ramp block is a Spine Crawler and two Evolution Chambers. I suppose it would work, but it would be pointless in my opinion. Why couldn't you just have moved your Hydralisks over... it's not like they are slow on creep.
