I honestly dont understand why people enjoy planet s so much, so i would appreciate an explanation. Akilon is ok but the desert theme is kinda lame, korhal city is atrocious, newkirk precinct is ok but can be really irritating as well, star station is awful and is impossible to go three base imo, although the tile set is fantastic and its by far the coolest map, vestige is pretty good but the 9000 ramps are kinda awkward and annoying, whirlwind is to damn big and really easy for mutas or terran drops which makes a protoss player cry, and daybreak is still ok but getting old. not sure why cloud kingdom is gone, still the most balanced map i can think of. and i would also like to see another map comparable to metalopolis, something small in size but 4 player, and i love the gold bases in the center, kind of how they are on planet s but actually a little bit easier to take. If they would rework star station some i would like it a lot more, but as long as it loans itself to two base allins, such as that annoying swarm host nydus allin, i will hate it.

I have a love hate relationship with planet S. It makes for some great ZvT games, but no clearly defined 3rd, narrow choke points and hallways everywhere makes ZvP very tough.

Whirlwind or Star Station (the name is terrible but honestly I kind of like the map).

I can't stand Planet S. Feels a bit scare on resources, 4th base feels a million miles away and I swear my 3rd gets counterattacked like 80 times when I try to move out for a push. So many different paths I wouldn't dare meching on it.

Planet S is really pretty decent for Protoss despite complaints... You got a nice small choke at your third. Totally favors the defender unlike CK or DB, except against siege pushes, but that puts them pretty far out of position. Pretty easy to hold three bases against drops, too. Most the paths are a great width for FFs and Colossus-based armies. Hard to be flanked. Against Bio or Roach/Hydra styles it's pretty good, maybe a little tougher against mech or swarm host stuff.
