At that event he also beat Bomber, MKP, MMA and aLive in a Bo3 (in the finals). Then this GSL he's beaten MMA, Maru, and Taeja (granted as far as MMA and Taeja are concerned, I think that is their weakest match-up, but at the level of play that those guys are at "weakest match-up" doesn't mean bad). That being said I think Mvp is still the favorite just because he has more experience and will be able to deal with pressure better, but at the same time in a match-up like TvP crazy stuff can happen. While skill becomes more and more of a factor the later you go, the early game of TvP can often come down to build order.

That single matchup completely renewed my excitement in the Protoss race and made me a Squirtle fan to this day. I have hopes that this final will be able to match the innovation and beauty of that great GSTL match. Even with how much respect both of these players are given for their skill, I still consider them to be underrated. Please be the greatest final ever!! (GSTL Feb. 2011 Final, Match 8 is the game I'm talking about by the way)

While I do not disagree with the point that protoss is significantly easier to play lategame then terran thats not entirly the point. Its more likely that skill has played a role in a longer game even so since its been alot more situations where skill comes into play. Sure, given that both players does nothing until 200 and then one engagement decides it skill probably wont play as much a role as a short one but how likely is that. I do feel the mu is broken in several ways but it does that a huge amount of skill to GET TO lategame against a player of MVPs caliber. probably more skill then 2raxing or something of the sort.

MVP is one of the best, but I think the bo7 series will push his injury past its breaking point.

but it could go either way really, because i doubt squirtle will aim at the lategame as parting always wanted, instead i believe both players will confront each other with early-midgame timings, could be one hell of a watch wenn offense and defense blurs into one all-out-war.

That was the best match I can remember seeing up to that point and still one of the greatest I've seen to this point. At a time when 2 base colossus seemed to be the only thing any protoss was doing, Squirtle came out with this amazing hallucination/immortal/high templar usage and slowly picked apart MVP's amazing macro in a long epic match, beating the greatest Terran in the world (only to lose the ace match to the greatest zerg in the world, sadly). That single matchup completely renewed my excitement in the Protoss race and made me a Squirtle fan to this day. (GSTL Feb. 2011 Final, Match 8 is the game I'm talking about by the way) I remember like it was yesterday. This was the only thing I'd ever bought a season ticket for just for Squirtle's GSTL run and the match vs mvp. I feel like MVP probably remembers too and has a score to settle, which makes this all the more exciting.

Sorry Terran/MVP fanboys but Squirtle is going to just pure outclass MVP. 4-0 Im pretty sure class isn't something MVP is lacking in sc2 man, those three GSL titles kinda proves a point. Squirtle might win sure, but one does not simply outclass MVP.

Squirtle might be the "better" player depending on definition, but he cannot take MVP in a bo7.

Atlantis Spaceship is a big map though, so Squirtle should win that one in a long macro game.

TaeJa himself said that his TvP is awful. Some time ago he got so mad at his TvP that he played an entire korean weekly using random every time he faced protoss. And this, two terran nerfs/protoss buffs after that time, doesn't seem to have changed for the better. What I mean is that beating TaeJa in PvT isn't a huge success. At all. He's not the best T, and nowhere near the best TvPers. 3-0ing TaeJa doesn't mean anything considering he'll be up against Mvp.

Squirtle, while not historically a very good PvT player, has torn most terrans up lately ^ This. While MVP has beaten some of the best (if not the best) protoss players lately he has not done it super convincingly doing a couple of cheeses to take the matches. Furthermore Parting mostly wins in the late game and against MVP he only got there once (and won). MVP did win but he did so doing some major risks. Major risks i'm sure squirtle will be prepared for. Standard vs standard squirtle wins easy. Only chance mvp has is the 1 base/2base all ins (i dont think he is comfortable against protoss in the late game). I think squirtle takes it but who knows mvp is pretty unpredictable and good at playing mind games.

MVP has taken out some arguably superior PvT players in the RO8 and RO4. I think MVP should be able to secure his 4th title tonight.
