I think MVP has the potential to win both the GSL and Blizzcon and lead to a lot of discussion about Bon Jovi's latest album.

Cant really imagine MVP dropping this, though it would be unfair to discount Nestea entirely.

well one small advantage is that nestea has a little more time to practice now that he's out of GSL and MVP still needs to practice TvT against MMA

If nestea can up his ZvT a little more he might take down MVP (it was pretty close last time, though the maps were slightly zerg favored -- also i'm excluding the carpel tunnel syndrome thing cus im sure most progamers are affected by stuff like that)

I would LOVE mOOnGLaDe to win, but I don't think anyone on the planet can take down Mvp right now.

If this was the only tournament MVP had to prepare for he would win 99%. However with his attention split between this and the GSL finals I'd say his chances of winning are only about 80%.

If MVP wins this GSL and Blizzcon I will consider for half a second that he is half way at the position of SC2 Bonjwa.

lets think logically here guys, the only one who can touch MVP here is nestea and just look at their record

MVP has got this because he's MVP

Man, didn't know Bon Jovi has an album called "Bonjwa." Also, Dimaga has beaten both Nestea and MVP, so don't count him out entirely.

We need a SC2 bonjwa.. who else more befitted than IMMVP?
besides... people of anaheim want their returning mlg champ to win everything!
honestly, i don't know why ppl hate on him just cuz he's terran... he's a super friendly and humble guy in-person.

I'm split between Nestea and MVP. If they meet head-to-head at any point, MVP will probably win, as he has in the past. However there isn't anyone else there who I think has anything but a small, small chance to take down Nestea in a series, while a few players have a small but significant chance to take down MVP.

MVP is almost looking unstoppable currently.

Almost. I can see him losing, but let's just say that I honestly expect MVP to wipe MMA and Blizzcon tournament. Anything less than him wiping will shock me, I say that honestly.

Other = mOOnGLaDe + MajOr + Loner + Nifi + JazBas + KiLLeR + Toodming + Brat_OK

But that doesn't matter because Sen is going to take it down! Sen fighting!

For some reason I have a feeling that MVP is just going to win Blizzcon and his finals against MMA. If he does make a sweep like that, he maybe the closest person to a bonjwa, though he will have to continue his dominance and continue to win many more championships (or just perform very well) afterwards before he reaches that status.

Its either gonna be MVP or Nestea. Nestea almost took a series off MVP, so I can't count Nestea out.

If either of the two do not win Blizzcon it would be considered a huge upset loss. I cannot possibly imagine anyone else winning the whole thing.

I picked Sen: for the sole reason of his a monster.

MVP/NesTea should theoretically take it since they're sitting on a tier above everyone else but I feel Sen is close to that tier.

MVP will win. because terran is OP. maybe if people boo enough at blizzcon the game balance team will get the point.

if it's after the GSL finals then there's a good shot to take out MVP as he might be tired from the match with MMA and his CTS might cause a distraction, but yeah MVP should be the favorite to win.

Actually the maps were not slightly zerg favored.

Belshir which is 14-17 favoring zerg so slightly zerg favored (even though NO map is going to be 50/50)

Metalopolis is 30-24 favoring Terran.

Day break 12-18 favoring zerg

Taldarim 42-26 favoring terran

Dual sight 30-27 favoring terran.

I mean going by stats the maps were more "terran" favored but honestly I think the maps were all pretty balanced.

sorry comments like this annoy me when the maps that are supposidly "zerg" favored in zvt are actually like even with a few games off on all those maps except for taldarim. Again just bugs me seeing posts that are incorrect (when technically 3 of the 5 maps are "slightly" favoring terran even though I would say they are just pretty balanced).

The belshir beach statistic was before the newer update as that has the most games played btw before the changes to make it slightly less zerg favored.

To the point of the poll the winner is probably MVP but I can see Nestea taking it to depending on their maps when they play (has blizzcon map pool been released? Will they have close positions?) those are pretty key things to know honestly. If say they have metalopolis and shattered in there and close positions enabled I would say MVP will win but if close positions aren't possible and the maps are good I can see it going either way.

Can't wait though should be some epic games non the less

If you get Metal cross pos it IS zerg favoured, why do you think Idra chooses that map every ZvT?

I see it as one of those "it's about time he takes a series" kind of thing. Every time they meet it seems like Nestea gets closer and closer. Last series was 3-2 where nestea had a 2 game advantage (I think).

MVP or Nestea, voted MVP.
It was a very close call last time they met could as well be going the other way now (but i don't think so - PREPARE THE 2 RAX).
Or Dimaga just goes into beast mode and knocks them both out we will see.

I voted other as im not sure. I dont think people are taking into account a number of factors when they click MVP or Nestea however.

The first thing to note is that MVP has quite a bad wrist problem, in GSL he only has to play 1 set per day. This could become quite a large problem at Blizzcon.

Nestea has said himself that he works by analysing a player and preparing for him, again this isnt as possible at Blizzcon.

EDIT: And of course jetlag and travelling etc. Nestea hasnt left korea for a tournament before AFAIK

It would be surprising to see someone other than MVP or Nestea win, though I have to admit it would make me very happy. Nestea doesn't have the best record against MVP, but the games the two of them play are always close. If it comes down to them it could go either way, and I'm a Zerg player so I'm required to root for Nestea.

Here I was thinking, I'll be different and vote Dimaga! He can beat Nestea and maybe MVP! But then I found out 200 other people had the same thought as me.

nestea and mvp are both looking really godlike atm. Based on past result and all i'd give it to mvp, but I think nestea is ganna bring out some big guns at blizzcon

voted naniwa, its nice to see foreigners win and he's been in korea training hard for a while now, last time i saw him play he had VASTLY improved and that was in GSTL after only a month or so in korea, i think by now anything is possible :D

MVP only nestea could stop him, but nestea doesn't travel and MVP has done it before for past tournaments and should adjust better

I'd say 70% chance MVP wins and not a definite winner because MVP has to practice mainly TvT for the GSL finals and everyone is gonna have some sick all-ins prepared for him.

If Bisu, Jaedong, Jangbi, Fantasy, were invited to play in the SC2 tournament then one of those four will win it.

If not (which is most likely to happen) than MVP than Nestea

The only way I could se MVP losing is him doing one of his greedy openers and getting killed by an all in from someone like Nani or DIMAGA, and that's unlikely.

first one goes to mvp because hes totally sick in every way possible. theres no way he will drop a tvt map and is very unlikely to lose a tvp. tvz vs these zerg foreigners are probably the hardest thing koreanas in general have to deal with against foreigners tho, but still, this guy is so unpredictible in tvz and has the best builds and macro by far imo

very close next comes nestea who is just as good but i feel like nestea has bigger chances of dropping games along the way (mainly cause of zvz being more luckbased than tvt. and i do feel the overall representation of zerg here are very good zvz players who probably know exactly how to abuse nestea to the fullest. its just so tough to play zvz where you dont know your opponents playstyle while your opponent knows yours)

naniwa comes 3rd for me depending on if he gets nervous or chokes etc, but he said to me he doesnt get that anymore. hes just simply a powerhouse nowadays owning face in practice. i think he was the best foreigner when he went to korea, and i dont see a reason why he wouldnt be the best one still. i dont judge a players skill based off of results at all so its just simply my opinion no facts )

the 4th goes to ret but for him he just needs to keep his flow and luck going because his mentality and mechanics are remarkable but i feel like he tends to lose abit too often because he wants to live on the edge with his massive drone production and being fearless (mainly why he needs to have luck on his side). ret actually just destroys people if he gets early game advantage and i rarely see him drop the ball :D

but some of the other guys in the bracket for example sen, dimaga or bratok could very likely take down these guys i listed above too. so i think its gonna be hard to predict who will win but mvp nestea and naniwa has the biggest chances in my book, these are also the ones i personally will be cheering for aswell

Nestea and MVP is on such a high level compared to everyone else (in the world).

I would give MVP 60%, Nestea 35% and everyone else 5% winning chance.

I'm going to play the optimism card and say it's Ret's time. MVP and Nestea are the only players here who are going to give Ret any trouble.

Obviously Nestea or MVP. Both of them will probably crush everyone else. In a head-to-head matchup between the two... well, we've seen both of them come out on top recently in those situations, but MVP seems to have a better individual record vs Nestea, so I guess MVP will win the tournament with Nestea at 2nd. (Unless they have to face eachother earlier I guess... which would be stupid bracket'ing by Blizzard)

Non-Korean players can stand up to Koreans, but that doesn't mean they are at MVP's skill level. And that is fine, regardless of being Korean or not, MVP is a fantastic player.

Terran OP. MVP OP. Only Nestea is nearly as good as him, but Zerg is helpless against the perfection of MVP.

I can never root for MVP as bonjwa, simply because I'm not convinced about the balance of SC2 and he plays the favored race. Nestea or MC, I'll give them all the credit for anything they win, MVP? No, I refuse, i don't care how many nerd faces he smashes or how impressive he plays. He plays the favored race, I don't care that he's clearly on another level from other Terrans. I despise that stupid race that is the only thing that GSL code S has. Even as a Protoss, i will root for 10 zerg GSL champs in a row and no protoss ever than 1 protoss and 9 terrans. Screw terran, if it was up to me they'd never win anything

On a serious note, I'm rooting for Nestea and everyone that's not Terran, as I do in every tournament.
I just despise how perfect that race is.

MVP is the best player in the world atm now imo, i think hes got nesteas number, he took him out in the last 2 GSLs, and he looks primed to take his 4th championship, wouldnt be surprised if he took down blizzcon while he was at it. looking forward to some upsets tho

MVP is getting on some serious momentum right now, so anyone besides him or nestea is impossible. Nestea has a chance, but I don't feel that the finals will be anything besides Nestea vs MVP.

It has been decided already, the other games are irrelevant, lol.
I hate when people compare SC2 and rochambeu. One race isn't fucking supposed to counter another one. | Protoss isn't OP. Their units on the other hand....

With the combination of the close positions and MVP's awesomeness i don't think Nestea or anyone else (other than another terran) has a chance.

So unless a lucky terran/terrans knock mvp out then he's the champion.

Nestea wins if he beats MVP for the first time in his fucking life, which I am praying for. Otherwise, it will obviously be MVP.

However, MVP is unbelievably good... 71% win in Korea and International??? Jeeeeeeeez.

Go look at the GSL stats for those maps and then say that again. The maps were about as balanced as you could get and it was 3-2, so it could honestly go either way.

MVP is obviously the top pick, especially since Nestea got knocked out like 2-0 first round of the only tournament he traveled to iirc (Starswar) and MVP won MLG. But anything could happen.

Mvp vs Nestea finals is pretty much a given. I guess miracles can happen. Sen or Dimaga maybe. Naniwa has been practicing pretty hard

It's really, really hard to vote for anyone else when Nestea and MVP are in the lineup.

I would vote for Nestea if MVP wasn't around, but seeing as how MVP absolutely pwns Nestea and the maps are not in Nestea's favour, definitely MVP

I'm surprised Naniwa is higher than the others. But yeah, it's obviously MVP or Nestea and if they faced eachother MVP almost always beats Nestea so probably MVP. But you never know, jetlag might change things

MVP is a level above anyone currently, even NesTea. So i'll be surprised if he loses it, but I could be wrong. He has to win GSL finals as well so it might help him positively or negativity depending on the outcome.

It kinda seems like 52% of people participating in this poll are idiots. j/k but seriously, no joke: MVP is going to frickin' own.

MVP is the best Terran in the world and a Terran will probably win, so I have a feeling we're going to see MVP winning $50k at Blizzcon .

Agreed. Dimaga 6pooled a game and won a legit game. Nestea outplayed Dimaga in that set, and in the World Championship team game. Yet everyone talks like Dimaga owned Nestea. I can see Nestea taking this tournament. MVP is more likely preparing for MMA, a GSL championship is more important than a Blizzcon championship. Nestea can prepare lots for MVP.

I think Dimaga 10 pooled that game vs. Nestea's hatch first. Regardless, I don't think anyone is saying Dimaga owned Nestea. People mention Dimaga because he's the only Zerg who has beaten Nestea in a Best of 3+.

MVP and NesTea have great potential in winning; however I don't see why the others don't really have much of a chance to win. Anyways it's like what they say, "practice makes perfect."

gsl stats that go back several seasons, a patch, and include code a arent very valuable when talking about a matchup between the best 2 players in the world IMO. My point wasnt that Nestea had a massive advantage or anything, but that the map pool was literally the best he could possibly hope for assuming that MVP used his veto. BelShir and Dual Sight are quite widely regarded as very zerg favored maps. Cross pos. Metal is probably the worst TvZ situation in the pool.

Y'know crossfire was widely regarded as a bad map for zerg in the beginning too. The stats, however, say the complete opposite. In fact, that was MVP's veto in the series. Surprised people were wondering what MVP veto'd, aside from Bel'shir I thought the choice would obviously be crossfire.

I think nestea and mvp have very good chances but from past series, and the fact nestea said he loses more games then he wins to mvp I would say mvp is has a slight edge. I think mvp could lose the GSL final though he has lost a lot of games to MMA in the past and MMA is very good tvt.

MVP doesn't lose alot of games to MMA. He lost to him in some GeForce online tournament. MVP's TvT is undisputed best in the world, these finals will be brutal for MMA.

the maps are going to have a large affect. if it was GSL maps i could see a nestea/sen/dimaga winning but with Ladder maps and close positions in play, i dont see any of them getting far.

It's quite funny people still quoting that Dimaga sayin
"Well he won a set against Mvp in the past hahaha"

damn even Dimaga himself said "I was totally pwned by IMMvp in a macro games and I confess I lost that game but luckily the game just dropped and Mvp didn't protest so in the next match I could all-in and could win" in an interview with Ethan.

Nestea is slightly the better player but terran is more than slightly the best race (see TvP results as of late and ZvP seeming to favor P atm). MVP will take this one.

Also the ladder maps are horrendously bad for zerg in some positions.

This reminds me of the poll on Gomtv. I voted for MVP even though i'm nestea/zerg fanboy... MVP is going to take this one, just like he took the nestea game in GSL october. He's only playing zergs in Ro16 and Ro8, there is a high chance he'll play a zerg in the ro4 and finals also. So many zergs in this tournament...

I have so many favorites in this tournament i just want to see them all go far. At least we know there won't be a shortage of zerg games, sorry brotoss

Jaedong got this s*** in the bag. He'll win both tourneys without using his keyboard hand. That's right, folks, you heard it here, spend your liquibet points for the GSL Ro1 on Jaedong, or you're gonna go home sad and depressed.

Not so long ago people thought another player was unstoppable (MC). Look how fast things changed. It might not be right now, but I'm pretty sure that MVP's time is going to be up soon.

I voted MVP, 2nd choice is Nestea. No one else has even a slim chance of winning besides these 2 titans.

I think given that Nestea would be practicing solely ZvT and MVP TvT it would be at least close, but given these lololololololol maps I think it'll just be 2 rax erryday.

How is MVP doing it with all the traveling? Hes gonna play GSL final in 15hours and then directly drive to the airport, fly to California and go straight to his game for blizzcon? I havent checked times , but is this even possible? :D

I think Mvp will win, i really hope he dosnt though, he is a great player but i am getting bored of watching him own eveyone prefrable Nestea/sen/Dimarga ftw. Although i hope Naniwa gets quite far.

The map pool worries me, given that I'd go with MVP.

If you want a safe bet, bet on MVP.

But you didn't hear from me.

Oh, and you'll need a time machine.

Did anyone else find this post adorable? I'd love for Ret to win, but I'm gonna go with the safe prediction and guess MVP. Guy is just so solid . . . so good
