1. Statistically, it is more likely that a subset from the population with 3 members will eventually win than a subset with 2-- this rules out Korean-P, Euro-P, NA-Z, Taiwan-Z, and NA-T. 2. Of the 3 groups that remain (Euro-Z, Korean-Z, and Korean-T), I want to pick the group with the three strongest players. 3. Although that, of the 9 players remaining, I think Ret and MorroW are extremely strong candidates, I think Darkforce kind of slows the group down compared to July, Zenio, and Moon, who are all gsl code S contenders (even people who scoff at Moon, I point to DreamHack and Columbus) 4. BoxeR is hurt, aLive has yet to truly prove himself to me, and PuMa, although making a tremendous showing in the open bracket, is still in the transition from BW imo. That leads us to: Korean-Z.

So, you're one of those people who only pays attention to the happenings in the GSL. You know, there are other tournaments that go on in Korea outside of the GSL. Lets take a look at Korean Z vs Korean T Firstly, both Moon and BoxeR and in Code B. They both can hold their own in foreign tournaments, but honestly they're never usually contenders to win the whole thing; Moon getting 2nd at Dream Hack was surprising. This leaves aLive and Puma vs Zenio and July. Now July had a disappointing exit from the GSL, and Zenio had a strong 2-0 earlier today. However, July did win the CSN Clash of the Houses event, which shouldn't be overlooked. In regards to the Terrans, both of them have equally ridiculous TvP records at 14-4. Puma is 4th in Korean ELO, aLive at 10th, July and Zenio are 32nd and 30th respectively in ELO. Puma is actually 29-8 overall, and has a 1st and a 3rd place finish in the ICCup Korean Weekly. aLive has a 1st place finish in the ICCup Korean Weekly. aLive is getting out of his group probably too; him, Polt, and Puma, have the best TvP in Korea, so they got lucky having both Huk and Sangho in there group. Back to the Zergs, Zenio has amazing ZvZ, but his other MU's are sub .500; July has great ZvT, but his other MU's are sub .500. Both of there weakest MU's is vs T, but they would just be competing against eachother.

Voted Mc 'cause that's the safest and most probable scenario. 2nd choice would probably be korean Z (July or Moon) as they both are high skilled and have a lot of experience in international SC2 tournaments.

His memorable liquibets on me: BoxeR vs Nuclear Bet: Nuclear Win BoxeR vs aLive Bet: BoxeR Lose aLive proceeded to losing to the very next person BoxeR vs Polt back from season 3, when BoxeR was the shit after playing a semi in s2 with an insanely good tvt and polt was just bad. Bet: BoxeR Lose Polt proceeded to lose the very next person. There are just a lot of them. For a good amount of time I just autovote boxer's opponent because he's just not good. I'd actually liquibet the blind guy if BoxeR randomly decides to do a rematch with him in sc2. Anyway, voted for korean zerg because koreans are starting to figure out ZvP and ZvT depends on pure skill, which listed korean terrans either lack (BoxeR) or have relatively lower amount than listed zergs (PuMa, aLive).

I can't help but agree with the stats, what with Select being the least favourite. Select is an AMAZING player. He has awesome aggression, high APM, great micro, but he has been kind of sloppy recently IMO. At MLG I felt like he wasn't playing up to par. I know in my heart that he is really really good, but I feel like whenever I see Select in a tournament I know he will go deep and be unable to win. ![]()

I did hover over Korean P for a long time, because MC is a tournament monster =P PuMa is getting a lot of hype, but imo he is still a darkhorse with potentially not enough international experience. Heart would like to see Sen, Sheth or Ret win the tournament.

A vote for Korean Ps is basically a vote for MC, whereas I think Moon and July have a very good chance, and Zenio has an outside chance. Seeing as the tournament is primarily Z and July's ZvZ is dreadful, I would say of those Z's July has the worst chance. In fact, by the same reasoning that a lot of the competition is Zerg, I would say Zenio has the best chance of winning. Moon has a chance of winning so long as he doesn't all-in HasuObs two games in a row, as after Hasu he'll have to play a Z (his ZvZ is fairly good in my opinion so he should be fine with whoever he plays there) and then I doubt his chances of advancing any farther.

About Moon, we don't really see him in Korean scene, but he comes to foreign tournaments and takes down big players , i wonder who this guy practices with. I got a strange feeling that he might take home this huge prize from NASL if July wont improve hes ZvZ. Zenio of course is another contender , performing amazingly good in GSL code gsl and getting out of pretty complicated group tells the story about hes actual form.

My fingers are typing the dark horses though, the ones i see capable of surprising MC, which, for some reason are Darkforce and Hasu. I'll go with Hasu. Results recently were good looking at the TLPD entry, wins over ToD, Machine, Haypro, Sjow, Tarson, Thorzain & Ace, took games off of July and Sen, time for him to explode on the scene i say ![]()

He got thrashed by MC in two Bo5s, although to be fair, MC 4-gated him every single game in one of those series (TSL3 namely) and this was at the time when 4-Gate was genuinely overpowered and even provoked Blizzard to increase the research time of Warp Gate tech by 20 seconds. However, WhiteRa did do well in the World Tournament's team league when he faced MC, and the Bo5 in the Dreamhack Invitational was a very close series spoiled by a cheesy last game where MC caught him off guard with a proxy 2 gateway.
