I think some events should join together to make the prizepool and player quality even better, right now it seems like any company and anyone is running an event, many of them have enough in common to work together.

"There are too many to keep track..." and "The more events the better!" aren't mutually exclusive, not keeping track of every event doesn't bother me at all.

I love the tournnament spam we have now
A few great tournaments for all to watch [Dreamhack MLG GSL etc], and infinite smaller ones for the localities means all can participate too

It is important to have a good number of events to create competition. It is not a good thing for esports if the tournaments are sustained on a bubble instead of on a solid business model. Competition is good among tournaments as it keeps quality up and ensures that esports stays viable in the long term.

The more the better!

We will never have enough events until I walk into a sports bar and Starcraft is on the TV dammit!

i like it this way. lots of tournaments to watch, but the big ones are still big (and well-hyped)

You can't possibly watch all of them right now, It's really overwhelming at the moment. I didn't even watch Dreamhack at all because I was so burnt out on starcraft so I watched the LoL tournament instead.

there isnt a league out there where players can make a living just by staying in it. sure there are a few players making a decent living from there team salary, but nobody can live e.g. just from placing top 20 every mlg without winning the tournament.
as long as there isnt a league big enough (so that players dont have to give a fuck about other tournaments), the more tournaments the better. winning 5 tournaments for a 100 dollar can save your ass when you dont have a solid salary to live from.

The reason why anyone would think there are too many events stems from a single problem.

For a long time, there weren't many. As such, it was totally possible for anyone who was remotely serious to follow literally every single tournament that there was going on.

As the number of events has increased, it has now got to the point where it just isn't possible to follow every tournament. However, this is the case for pretty much every sport. Does a football fan follow every tournament, amateur or pro that goes on? no, he usually picks a league and sticks with it. Same goes for SC2. Pick your leagues you want to follow, and be glad that there's so many small tournaments all the time.

I can't keep track of everything that's going on, but at the same time is that a bad thing? It's not all about me! I think it's great there's so many events.

More events = more chances for newer players to rise through = more content = more activity in the community in their own groups, forums and in regional areas = stronger scene.

There are just a bit too many of the really small events, but I don't want them to die out unless they join together to make bigger, better events. If that doesn't happen, then let them live on forever :D

The more events the better!
There are too many to keep track...

I agree with both of these statements.
