Dreamhack because A: it afaik wasn't quite as bad for the players (Thorzain's even said he won't go to an MLG again because the way he was treated - not even being allowed to get food for instance), even though the BYOC ran far into the night.

B: Better streams. Always HQ and several of them to cover all games played, even the open bracket, which was one of the more entertaining ones, and spawning the purple Cytoplasm fan club on TL.

C: Less commercials, less annoying commercials.

D: oGsMC casting!

E: Free HQ stream!! Sure they made the stream free at MLG because of the poor handling of it, but honestly MLG HD is like 360p

Edit: The biggest letdown with DH was seperating players and crowd, using JTV (who made that decision? JTV fails time and time again) and having the finals on a monday.
I bet i can maı̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̸̨̨̨̨̨̨ke you wipe your screen.

Its a bit unfair since Dreamhack is so freash in the memory. I have to go with both equally awesome though, cant choose for the life of me.

I loved them both but columbus takes it for me as i didnt feel as attached to the players as they were seperated, dreamhack stream also lagged alot for me whilst columbus didnt /shrug.

Dreamhack by some distance. Casting was more interesting having 5 streams but saying all that, Dreamhack winter casting was much more enjoyable than summer. Turned of MLG due to the technical issues, competition structure is very poor and player pool not as strong (partly to do with the strucuture and this will only get worse as many EU players have already stated they not interested in mlg anymore).

DH winter was by some distance the best SC2 event todate, anywhere.

Dreamhack because more games to watch on better streams with less adverts and breaks in general.

Plus other games like HoN, LoL (200k viewers lol!) and Quakelive TDM are a pretty viable watch too, relative to Halo and CoD anyway.

All in all, Esports.

Dreamhack because there was more streams, that ran better, with a stronger player pool. Also, Dreamhack because im not just a starcraft fan. 3 seperate quake tournaments? Yes please Dreamhack! I'll take that over Black Ops any day

Both equally as good. Both had their strenghts and weaknesses.

Nothing compares to Dreamhack Invitational though. People who think this Dreamhack or MLG C. was good and missed DHI- my god you missed something! Even IdrA said that tournament was "Impeccable". I hope we will be able to experience something that perfect in terms of E-Sports again.

*edit* You should add an option "Haven't watched both". I feel that many will vote MLG without having seen this Dreamhack and vice versa.

I barely got to watch any of Dreamhack because of the time difference so I had to vote for MLG.
Of course, you only live one life, and you make all your mistakes, and learn what not to do, and that’s the end of you.

Wow, as of now the results are :

MLG Columbus (217) 37%
DreamHack (205) 35%
Both were equally great (160) 27%


It looks quite equally great to me ^^

Personally the games I watched in the MLG were more intense than the ones I watched at Dreamhack, but obviously it's because I didn't watch all of them, I suppose both events had their share of amazing games. But I watched all of the main stage MLG games(and a few series on the 2nd stream on 2nd monitor too), and I must admit that I was astonished by the entertainment quality of these games. MLG takes this one, but both events were really great to watch anyway.

The production quality was also outstanding for both events, perhaps the small occasionnal lags during MLG were a little bit frustrating, and Dreamhack providing top-notch HQ stream for free makes me tend to prefer Dreamhack on this side, but it's a really close call.

That's why I voted that "Both were equally great", kudos to both events' teams!

Dreamhack had much better stream quality. The best commentary you can get without Tastosis.

MLG Columbus had a much better atmosphere. And Tastosis. It wins.

Wonder why the "good room" at Dreamhack only was used for the Finals. Did they need it for Streetfighter? <.<

The crowd at MLG was cooler by far, HuK showing his amazing skills at DH was nice But them at equal but im biased since i live in jönköping ;p

I say that MLG won as there was always a great game to be seen in either of the two streams while in Dreamhack there were multiple moments when neither day 9 or TB were casting a game. :/

Both were amazing anyways and HuK won Dreamhack. Though, MLG comes ahead in production and entertainment (even though I got to see the best TvT ever in Dreamhack! xD).
