Mvp vs Adelscott stood out to me. Just great games and a huge upset.

IdrA being cocky as hell and then losing to a no-name from my perspective was pretty sweet.

Really liked NesTea vs Goody, both very good players. Sad to see both IM players out, but at least it will allow coverage on new faces.

Yeah, qxc's late game reapers were clutch! Quite enlightening! I had never thought of their effectiveness with the 3/3 ups! I think that unit just got new life all around Bnet... Much props to Q and to my fav TLO for some great games!
This one is constantly thinking, analyzing, strategizing. He showed no fear, but was curious, studying me in turn.

IdrA vs Cruncher -- Most memorable? Sure. Favorite? Quite the opposite.

I got my biggest banana grin from watching Mondi's roaches.

The result from Idra vs Cruncher was fun to watch. Not the best MU but a favourite nonetheless
+ Show Spoiler +

Also, I was like "wtf" the whole time watching Mondragon own air with only ground units

Tough decision between Mondragon and Adelscott, but I had to go with Adelscott. I think the games were better overall, and Protoss for life! :D

Definitely Cruncher vs Idra. All the smack talk from Idra and then failing to deliver a win. Gotta be careful of those walkovers!

I feel that TLO v NaDa games didn't live up to the expectations... I think that CrunCher v IdrA was the best match!!
With an average game length of 7m36s over his 6 games in GSL3, this is a no-brainer. BitByBit pulls more SCVs than yo momma at a club on Mar Sara. ♞

thought adel had no chance of winning is if mvp lost for him, but adel played so freaking good and truly looked like the better player.

qxc vs Genius of the ones I watched.

TLO vs NaDa featured some pretty sweet tactical plays in the 2nd match. Kinda sucks that the series ended pretty quick tho =(

Koreans didn't play well at all on Saturday. Not saying the Caucasians didn't very well; just that the Koreans did not bring their A-game.

Series would be hard to pick as all of them were very well played.

But here are some NOTABLE games in my opinion.

qxc vs Genius - Entire series
NesTea vs Goody - Game 1
Ret vs Naniwa - Game 2 (LOLOL Broodlords?)

Idra vs Cruncher - Game 2
Nada vs TLO - Game 2
Haypro vs Kas - Game 1.

And many games from Day 1 and Day 2.

The actions we do today, will echo in eternity.

For me it was definitely NesTea vs Goody. Game 3 ended so epically that I literally yelled "HE DID IT!!!" in my room.

But honestly, every match this weekend was worth watching. Thanks TeamLiquid!

Close second is probably Mondragon's roach bust. So much for the "IMBALANCED!" strategy. Idra could learn something from those games

TLO vs. Nada really lived up to the hype. Excellent play from both sides and probably the most evenly matched game in the TSL so far.

I'd rather praise good play than make a game infamous... So I voted adelscott mvp. He beat a terran with straight gateway units guys! Thats impossible! Anyways Idra Cruncher would be second choice (that's the infamous game of BM if you didn't know)

As long as you remember the fanboys!
You can not deny that it was entertaining, and the "" in the end was very funny, especially if you know the context (Idra's interview and his comment in the game lobby)
Still voted Adel vs MVP

Qxc Vs genius, great display of aterran using non-stop aggression to come back from a huge deficit. cruncher vs idra was just a bunch of buildorder- mis timing losses, :\ BM isnt that entertaining

Idra Vs. Cruncher doesn't deserve number 1 (just an opinion). Cruncher played some solid games, and idra lost games 1 and 3 because of some poor decisions, QXC's play was fantastic, and the way he played in game 2 was amazing and took the #1 spot for me. Although adel played quite well too with his gateway play.

It was close between the mvp v adelscott game and the idra v cruncher but idra v cruncher just edge out for me. The backstory plus great matches and 2 rage quits makes it super entertaining. I'm just so

The baller ghost usage and late game reapers were pretty damn sexy from Qxc, so that gets my vote. The Mondi vs Zeerax was really entertaining even if the games weren't that close.

qxc vs Genius was definitely the most action-packed series IMO. It was tough deciding between this and Adel vs MVP, but I feel like MVP's play was weaker than it could have been, while both Genius and qxc gave it their all. That series was definitely my favorite.

Had to put down Mondragon vs. Zeerax. Day9 and Djwheat did nothing but talk about how Mondragon was a virtual unknown in Sc2 and he annihilated Zeerax. Plus, those games with the roaches just streaming in constantly felt like they put the "swarm" back into zerg. Unending tide of units ftw.

Honorable mention to QXC. I watched that entire 47 minute game against Genius and I still don't know how he won.

Idra vs Crucncher in first? Idra getting owned for bm always happens. Mondi and Adel's triumphs where totally more awesome.

Adel vs mvp for me. That game had me shouting like a madman cheering Adel on, and overall gave me the most excitement. Though Mondi's games came a close second. Never seen such a cool and inspiring counter like that.

Hmm? Ok, IdrA lost and was Bmed. I don't think that warrants it a first place. The second game was the only game of that series that was entertaining.
Qxc vs Genius takes the cake for me. Long games etc.

TLO vs NaDa was the one matchup that I personally couldn't feel anything but excitement and enjoyment! Whoever advanced was going to do it in STYLE.
TLO showed the power of the new and improved battlecruiser and some cutesy play in game one which unfortunately could not stand up to NaDa.

MVP vs Adelscott

Adel's play was beautiful.

Mondragon games were rly great to watch. But i just feel like that Toss was being to greedy, trying to tech 3ways/taking 3 bases/pressuring at the same time...you just can't do it, even in PvZ.

Idra vs Cruncher was depressing to say the least. And the game was the definition of imbalance in 1.2 (whether 1.3 fixed anything is yet to be seen).
Game 2 was great play by idra.

Game 1 was great play by idra, outplaying his opponent on every turn. Remaxing 3x times at the end, and still couldn't take out the deathball (catching lone voids with corrupts, rebuilding them, loosing all again, rebuilding lings to try to stop it). Having whole map, with 95% covered in creep. vs Turtling Toss, with 2 entrances to his base...nothing he could do to trade armies before 200/200.

Game3....demonstrated how broken FF are in early game. And Cruncher used FF even better then MC, imo. Isolating those 5-10 roaches into 1, unable to move or shoot, beautiful (yet broken ). Idra was fairly prepared for the push, couldn't do much more to prepare without sacrificing economy and loosing the same way he did in G1.

Can't pick one so i didn't vote, i loved most games, especially Adelscott vs MVP and Goody vs Nestea.
Though the qxc vs Genius was a disappointment, bad games but i'm happy that the koreans got knocked out.

And all my favorite players got eliminated except Tyler

Mondragon.
Nada vs TLO was fun as well. Though it was more like TLO vs TLO. He really couldn't resist getting ghosts, battlecruiser and stuff. But fun nonetheless.

Didn't like Crunchers play, even though he won. He just did those boring pushes. Though his forcefields were outstanding.

Personally i enjoyed Mondragon v Zeerax the most. Mondragon had truly figured how to beat zeerax style to the ground and the excitement was epic especially in the first game. Personally i thought all MVP and Nestea performed so badly that their series were pretty bad. Especially Neste versus Goody was a series filled with big mistakes. At least Adelscott actually outplayed MVP.

Mondi vs Zeerax being so high is ridicolous
I love Mondi, rlly but zeerax was no opponent and played horrible
pressure or just lack of skill - I dont care

was not that great of a game imo

Mondragon and Qxc games, both were so innovative and well executed with only minior mistakes from their opponent.

IdrA vs Crunch was the best series imo because of everything that went on before the games and during. The entertainment value was very high because of that.

Day9 has mentioned Adel Scott's style before, and it was truly a beauty to see it in action. Game 2 of that series was just epic..

I love idra, I listen to him on state of the game and hold him in high regard as a player, albeit one with some very real problems.

His overconfidence going into the cruncher match and his defeat was still a glorious thing to watch unfold. He might use the embarrassment as a time to reflect on the mindset he had before he went into the game, and become a realistically confident player instead of one who says silly things like "he's just going to 4gate" on a public interview.

I'm torn though because the one who says silly things like that is far more entertaining.

He's been like that a while. Always overconfident, blaming balance issues on his losses, crying that his race is always underpowered, wishing he could get a koreaplasty... Things haven't changed much, especially with it being an online tournament, I'm not really surprised by anything he does or says, because it isn't much worse than anything previously said by him.

One thing is for sure though, wherever there is IdrA, there's sure to be a lot of people watching... Not because they enjoy his playstyle, or because they are a fan, but because they can't wait for shit like what happened yesterday to happen.
Isn't it ironic and selfish to say that God made man in his image, when God was made in man's image?

Man I loved almost all the games of day 2. I voted for Nada and TLO just because watching their set I was the most assured that whoever won would be able to continue success and show us more fun games later in the tourney. QXC was also something special though and I was grinning like an idiot for like an hour after Cruncher and Idra.

Does anyone think Idra will actually win anything in the west? or do you think he will get frusterated and move back to korea. Basically his plan was to come back here and own up all the tournaments, we will wait to see how he does at MLG but i think that he thought the west was going to be a "walkover" compared to korea and now since hes been back he hasnt been doing wellat all lol

Most of them were at least noteworthy in terms of upset. But it's the smaller gems that made them exciting, TLO nuke rush, qxc reapers, Mondragon totally circumventing Zeerax air play, the Idra-Cruncher story (think about it what you want). I liked it more than week 1 in general.

Well, he won some tournament in Arizona. And just being kicked out here in the TSL doesn't mean that much. In any way, going back to Korea wouldn't make life easier for him, he's not really more consistent there than here, considering he just got back.

I just think IdrA will never change his mindset, so either he'll have to change races or something noteworthy must happen in HotS. Until then, I can definitely see IdrA doing only mediocrely, not necessarily because his balance complaints are entirely true but because they really damage his practice attitude as he said himself.

Best match for me was QXC versus MvP.Genius. The game 2 on Xel'Naga was so tense. QXCs relentless harass made Genius scramble around and look totally lost. The fact that the two were so evenly matched made the games that much closer and put me that much further on the edge of my seat.

For those going with adel vs mvp, adel didn't really play very well at all. His macro was quite atrocious, and could have played a great deal better had he not been floating 1500 minerals constantly and forgetting pylons/gateways every 60 seconds. If he avoided those huge mistakes, it would have made it look one sided and boring. MvP just refused to get upgrades, which made the game a hell of a lot closer than it should have been.

Almost all the posts are about how awesome qxc vs. Genius was. Crunchers game was just so funny and Mondragons game was also funny because Zeerax played somewhat poorly.

I still feel like game quality, qxc is highest but meh. I really disliked how poorly MVP microed in the set on Metal and so i can't believe that series is rated highest for "quality of game" Guess it was a pretty sick comeback though. And i guess im biased towards qxc...

moondragon's match being my favorite, as this is my first TSL, never heard of Moondragon before, am now a super big fan of him

+ Show Spoiler +

especially love his way of playing ZvP, you made phoenixes / void ray? and going colossus? I just mass a lot of roaches to counter your air, that's so creative and awesome, never thought of that

Idra vs Cruncher, Nestea vs Goody, Mvp vs Adelscott, Nada vs TLO, Mondragon vs Zeerax, Qxc vs Genius and even Haypro vs Kas were all good matches.

I would probably rank it in this order:
Nestea vs Goody
Mvp vs Adelscott
Qxc vs Genius
Mondragon vs Zeerax
Idra vs Cruncher
Haypro vs Kas
Nada vs TLO

If it wasn't for the interview and all the drama that followed I would have voted MVP vs Adelscott but my vote went for Idra vs Cruncher, even though I'm a fan of IdrA that was both hilarious and interesting.

Some amazing matches but i am very sad to see so many amazing players being knocked out by people less skilled. (huk, jinro, idra, nestea).

Thorzain played amazing against fruitdealer, he deserved the victory. Ditto for QXC and AdelScott.

And for those who hate IdrA that's fine but that series was nooooowhere near as good as qxc/genius or adelscott/mvp. The only interesting part of that series was game 2.

I wouldn't expect Idra v Cruncher to even be top 3. Yes, Idra lost...but games 1 and 3 were just awful. Cruncher didn't play well and Idra just played badly. Except for the force fields trapping roaches, Cruncher didn't show anything impressive. Even game 2 was just Cruncher being stomped.

Nada v TLO showed some interesting strategies. Mondragon v Zeerax showed him crushing protoss with a tactic that, at first glance, shouldn't work.

I mean who goes roaches when opponent goes void rays?

Idra vs Cruncher. The really made it. When the matchup was first announced I thought I'd support Idra, despite not being a big fan of him at all. I didn't like how Cruncher made his way through to the TSL. But then he showed some good results in other stuff (beating Sjow and PainUser, for example). So it was a bit of a tie.

But then Idra failed to gg. And when the "" came I literally laughed out loud, and chuckled for the next half hour. It only got better when I saw the screenshots Cruncher posted of the game lobby comments by Idra.

mondragon vs ZeeRax was a great match for me as middle master league zerg to see how you can deal with a protoss who wants to get a death ball, seeing mass roach against void ray colossus work and stopping protoss before they can get the critical mass or death ball was awesome to watch.

Voted Idra vs Cruncher. I have to agree with cruncher that idra is very overrated, since he hasn't actually performed well or won anything in a long time. Will be interesting to see if anything changes in MLG...

Adel vs MVP a close second though, adelscott was impressive, but MVP was not.

The mondragon games were really fun to watch but the play was so astonishingly bad it's hard to vote for them. I went with the adel vs. MVP games because it's nice to see a protoss player ignore the conventional wisdom of gateway units always loosing to barracks units and wreck face with it.

I can't believe so few people voted QXC vs. Genius. A really solid series with game 2 being by far the best game of ro32 in my opinion. From the hype point of view, definitely Mondragon vs. Zeerax though.

Definately Adelscott vs MVP.

1) The upset factor - I don't think anyone genuinely expected MVP to lose this
2) The tactics employed by adelscott - the build he used isn't something we see all that often, most games revolve around lots of collosus and/or templar - so it was pretty interesting to see the mass upgrades and warpgate units

I'm surprised so many people voted the the Idra vs Cruncher series, it was pretty boring.

Game 1 - Protoss turtles up in a very easy to defend position and masses an unstoppable army. Idra doesn't respond perfectly and loses to it.

Game 2 - Ok sure, this one was pretty awesome. During game 1 I was talking to a friend saying "If he would just go for some kind of fast hydra drop he coulda probably won that". He did it in this game and dominated.

Game 3 - Pretty standard protoss all in. Frustrating to watch, I'm so bored of this style of play.

I agree! I think the only things that were unique about this series were the bm, hydra drops, and that cool forcefield pattern that trapped the roaches in place

Are there any rules against bm like that?

Unfortunately Idra v Cruncher stands out the most. How many more times are we going to have to watch protoss FF ramps ftw? very cheesy and very upsetting to watch top player lose to this style of play time and again.

cruncher over idra wasn't as suprisign as adelscott over mvp, that was utter domination with the sick upgrades/warpgate play by adelscott.

Adelscott manhandling MVP easily i have never ever been so excited about TvP, Stork vs Fantasy comes close but meh, the experiences are not quite comparable

i wouldn't really call Idra's BM as unique :p
The hydra drop was nice to see, but personally i really enjoyed adelscott's warpgate games and mondragon's no-air play

The MVP Adelscott game was easily the best, tbh i think the idrA game was just up there because people love to see idrA lose

I'm just in love with mondragon's style, the fact that he came out of pretty much nowhere to show such great games really makes me pick that one.

Definitely, Adelscott vs MVP was the biggest surprise. It was really cool seeing a late game gateway style instead of the standard hero-units style of play. Adelscott is the zerg of protoss

Mondragon's crisis management and answer to stargate openings was beautiful.
