No need for spoiler tags in this thread yo.

Is that win vs Jaehoon enough to break JDs ELO peak vs P?

I saw Flash at #1 before this 3kill and I obviously see him at #1 afterwards. Although it was fairly easy today, but that probably says enough in itself.

Hmm... Jaehoon's vs T ELO is below 2.1k, so I don't think he's worth the 5 points needed to surpass JD's vsP ELO peak.

Probably not. He's getting really close though.

I think it may be enough to tie it. I'm not sure if he'll gain enough to break it.

I hope this makes it easier for flamewheel. As many have said, once it gets this messy you should give the benefit of the doubt to players whom you know are consistantly considered the very best.

Flamewheel did say that it's up to Flash to make or break this month's PR so I don't think tomorrow's game will factor in, but who knows, maybe things will be even more clear with tomorrow's games.

It's not just the Terrans, the same principal applies to the other match-ups too, it's just a little less apparent because they aren't mirrors. But yeah, most pros play exactly like what they are: teenagers that practice the same stuff over and over (starting BOs, cute tactics) but don't have a deep understanding of what it takes to win a long macro game. Flash plays like someone with a brain twice his age but the speed of a teenager. That's why he's bonjwa (IMO).

Which is just a horribly ignorant idea.

Flash is looking absolutely amazing! I think it's very fair to say that this man would've all-killed ACE for example if he had gotten the chance to (like Bisu).

And by the way, if I ever see someone say that Flash is boring/just turtles I'll go insane. Damn that was so awesome! :D His BOs are so fantastic.

Please explain how it is ignorant? Seriously, his mechanics are about par with any of the other top players, the reason his win rate is so high is his mental understanding of the game. His game sense and timing are also impeccable, which helps, but isn't the sole reason for his domination. It's important to note that he doesn't simply out-expand his opponent, it requires careful balance to take more resources without over-extending and getting crushed. In fact in 3 recent TvTs (vs Fantasy, SkyHigh and now Sea) he started of behind in expansions but carefully controlled the game to finally take a larger share of the resources. His initial tank positioning in his game against Sea was crucial in dictating how the map would be split, leading to his win.

If Flash played more like he did in his series against MBC today I would actually be a fan of his. Pity he doesn't do this sort of thing more often. Perhaps we'll see a new (old?) side of Flash now that he has wrist problems.

The idea that Flash is a genius is not what's bad, the idea that all the other progamers are dumbasses without a deep understanding of the game is.

I absolutely hate when people spurt out that.

It's the little things that add up which Flash does that wins him games. It's not as simple as "He takes 1 more base than his opponent and wins on resources." His unit positioning normally allows him to trade resources at a positive ratio. It's rare that he loses an engagement in terms of resources, unless he has a large enough lead that he's going to do a death push and win or free up supply for BCs. His game sense allows him to intercept drops and deny opponents expansions. Without that game sense he'd just be an average Terran. Also, the principle actually doesn't apply at all in the other matchups. While Flash does win often by having more bases than his Zerg and Protoss opponents, he's also had games where he turtles hardcore and simply forces his opponent to starve himself out while relying on the efficiency of mech as well as constantly denying expansions if he plays bio in TvZ. In TvP, he's won too many games to count with a variety of styles, from outexpanding to saving up for a 200/200 2-1 mech death push and simultaneously destroying 3 or more expos all at once to his variety of timing attacks like he showcased today.

TL;DR: While he does tend to get an advantage in expansions in TvT and ride that advantage until he wins, that's really not the only thing he does, and it's really not the only thing he does in the other matchups.

Yeah, you cannot just simply look at the records and say blah have more wins than blah you have to look at the games and at the quality of the opponents.

Seriously, Flash is 12-1 this month. Has anyone else made something so spectacular that it overshadows a years worth of bonjwa mode?
Last month it was fine, but this month he is playing awesome.

If we can't put Flash at #1 when he's playing at his peak during his bonjwa era then something is wrong. He's about to enter 2400 ELO again fyi.

Flash wrapped this month up beautifully. Between his wrist, ForGG's sudden retirement and now Violet's diagnosis these are very hard time, I'm glad to see KT at least isn't falling down, and is still undefeated on a 7-game run.

KT fighting.
I'm going to sleep, let me get some of that carpet.

This has never been a problem in the past.

Seriously though, it would make sense to wait for tomorrow's games due to the upcoming break.
