I would be very surprised if a foreigner did not qualify.

Based on early beta form, I would have had even odds on White-Ra making it. No clue how likely Jinro is to make it, but I hope he does because he sounds like a nice guy. IMO if I ran a league I'd want to find a way to add TLO in. His play is exceptionally charismatic and that is what sells people. "Good" macro-heavy play is still more of a connoisseur's style of play. (Not to say that others aren't interesting...jaedong sen would definitely be on my must watch list).

If like 1000 Koreans show up for the prelims, it's going to be hard to navigate through the field to make the top 64. Especially if each round is a bo3 or (gasp) the earlier rounds are bo1. I hope for Idra/TLO's sake, rounds are at least bo3 and it would be sweet if it were double elimination. But who knows.

If they can not have any really strong opponents before hand, then i'd have to say that they stand a chance of getting in the GSL hands down. BW mechanics and different builds are somewhat plausible to use in SC2 because the same type of terrains like highgrounds and lowgrounds and ramps are still very well present and doesn't change much from one game to another, so if a player like Leta or any other decent BW pro league player decides to switch to SC2, then its over, Koreans are gonna own at SC2 like they currently own at BW. all in all, i'd say a 50~50 percent chances that atleast one foreigner qualifies for the GSL. only time will tell i guess.

In Brood War IdrA was (I think) the only one playing full time. In SC2 there's already TLO, Jinro, Nazgul and Haypro going to Korea. The western scene in general is much bigger, too.
