A true fluke. A freak of fuckin' nature. In the BEST possible way. If anyone saw the pic thread compaing SC:BW to SC2... I always think of the Einstein vs Dustin Browder set. So perfect.

I hope SC2 turns around and away from billowing blobfights and evolves into this beautiful spectator sport. Until then.........

BW doesn't need to have a successor. Sc2 is a different game, an homage if you will, and it has it's own strengths and weaknesses. There's this ridiculous mindset that Sc2 will somehow take all of BW's fans overtime, and that BW will slowly die. I don't really believe this, but regardless, there's nothing that says it needs to happen that way.

SC2 is way ahead of BW considering the game longevity. It takes years (and one extension) for BW to actually becomes what it is : the perfect balanced RTS game with high level players providing the fans maximum pleasure. SC2 is already showing us some nice battles, and the best is still to come. Have faith my friends !

But I will tell you what gives me hope for SC2 as a E-Sport. It does seem to have a very dynamic skill ceiling... there are so many layers of even "great" players. I won't go into recent Invitationals that have shown this, but even from my play, I know I'm mid Diamond- but have a friend who is #1 Diamond. He is many fold better than I am. He entered a ladder game to get into a TL tourny, and got owned. They guy who beat him successively got owned... on up to players like iNcontrol and Orb, who are very good will lose usually to players like Cauthon Luck and TLO. Then you have your White-rA, Dimaga, IdrA and NonY types... and we have all seen what some Koreans can occasionally do above that. Long story short, this bodes VERY well for this game as a competitive sport. Differences in skill seem to be very clear and minimally dependent on race. Not in the same league as BW yet, obviously.

SC2 will win by a 5:1 margin or so. I vote SC:BW, without having played SC2 (computer can't run it anyways).

Definitely SC:BW. I can't quite put my finger on it, but SC2 isn't nearly as satisfying to play as SC:BW. I have a feeling I will watch more SC2 than play it. But I'll be watching and playing BW.

I think its pretty obvious that SCBW is better then the SC2 beta(key word, BETA) The BETA argument is getting mega old. In my opinion, a beta has to be improving along the way, so far it hasn't really. Also the game is set to relase in 1 month, they won't overturn 3 years of development in 1 month. Broodwar, obviously.

Besides, BW is perfect (with the exception of the dragoon bug maybe, lol). The rush I get by playing BW is unparallel to any other games I've ever played. Furthermore, (not to go all Klazart, but) watching a high skilled game of BW is like watching art unfold.

So sadly I voted for SC2 and I think the 'hitting a brick wall' effect of SC:BW is what makes new commers vote SC2 over SC:BW not the flashy graphics or what ever.... In that regard it's understandable that SC:BW is winning with a hughe margin since this is well, a 'die-hard' community

BW has a more thought out meta-game, plenty of years on its back and doesn't have the issues of BNet 2.0. However, SC2 has so much potential, still being in beta, and when it too has a few years on its back, make a new poll. Claiming that BW is perfect is quite narrow minded. It's great and I think almost everyone in TL feels strongly for BW, but calling it perfect is naive.

I stoped playing sc when I was able to play the beta and won't go back to BW between the beta and the release.

I'm actually better at SC2 because the macro is so fucking easy and efficient. It's nice being able to put all your Nexus as 4 and boost all your gateways, which are conveniently all 5. Or put all your CC's at 4 so you have twice as many scans.
