I think in the programming, there's a check that forces spines to do at most 1x hit against an enemy. Probably does something like "if lurker A hit enemy B already," "don't do damage again" But if lurker A no longer exists (it's dead) the "if" statement becomes vacuously true, so the splash from spine 1 and 2 both hit the marine, doing 2x hits | ||
