MBC Game Hero TheZerg has officially transferred to SK Telecom T1. T1 announced its final decision on Nov. 26th, although other specific details including payment have not been released yet.
SK T1 has been struggling in Proleague throughout the entire season, currently placed at 10th. One significant reason for that seems to be the weak Zerg lineup, which has gone 0-13 so far. The core Zerg lineup includes HyuK, s2, and Rumble - they have not won a single game, and is viewed by most people as the weakest out of all teams. That's why T1 has been looking for a Zerg player and it successfully found one in a team (MBC Game) that relatively has plenty of Zerg players.
TheZerg mostly played in team games until 2008, but as the new year started, he attracted a lot of attention by playing outstandingly in 1v1 as well. He qualified for a Starleague (Incruit) for the first time in his career, and continued to take down high class Terrans in various events.
In the current Proleague season, however, TheZerg has not managed to win a game and sits with a record of 0-2. He is overshadowed by teammate Saint, who has been playing brilliantly. That's why many experts call this deal a win-win situation. TheZerg will be able to play in more games and prove himself, while SKT1 finally has a reliable Zerg player. T1 plans to add TheZerg to its roster right away in December. Before anything, TheZerg will have to adapt to the team first; former MBC Game Hero player Bisu and close friend Kingdom should make things easier for him.
TheZerg is surrounded by high expectations as he moves his home. Yet at the same time, it's a perfect opportunity for him to erase the sub-par season thus far and start all over.

Are you sure you don't mean STX Soul and MBC? They're the two teams with training rooms inside LOOX down the hallway from each other in the Hero Centre area ^^ I was told both teams are also living in close proximity by one of the camera man at the Hero Centre, but that was back when the Centre first opened earlier this year so it might just be their training rooms which are so close now.
Anyway, GL to him and the rest of the SKT1 line up.

I don't know why so many people like T1. I love their old players(Boxer, Oov) too, but that team just goes around buying players it's just lame. I'm quite glad that Khan, despite having a huge sponsor, still develops players from within and tries to get young players to grow. And it's definitely paying off.

I see. I just haven't followed the sport long enough to know about these. Especially since KTF was pretty much a one-man team until they bought Luxury.
Regardless, I think it's just lame to buy players. It's just no fun to follow a team that way. It's much more fun to see players develop instead.
Edit: And I feel for you, Plexa. LOSING your players to other teams because you have no money really sucks. Although to be honest, losing Thezerg is not exactly a loss for MBC though.

I think TheZerg was a smart choice. It'd be hard for them to grab an ace Zerg like a lot of T1 fans were fantasizing about when news of FAs came out. But, I think, especially in Proleague, TheZerg is definitely good enough to help turn around their record. At least it shouldn't be an auto-loss anymore...

I hope TheZerg does well because whenever Best, Bisu, or one of the SKT1 members that actually wins gives an interview they always have to talk about how the Zergs are good during practice and they'll do better next time and it's getting kind of depressing.

After KTF started losing with it's 'all-star lineup', they finally screwed a nail onto their head and realised they actually needed to develop their players.
Still, KTF in 04/05 was BEASTLY.

Then Toona bought them.... then Yellow moved back because Toona wasn't good enough for him.

Tbh tho they've always had a huge gap for decent zs on the roster, Gorush's been slumping since god knows when and July basically did squat for the team ( he won a couple of 2v2s, I'll give ya that) Didn't really contribute till he got on stx. Back on t1 July was the GGplay of CJ Entus.
Cut them some fucking slack seriously recruiting another good z has been looooooooong overdue (especially with the new PL structure, I want my 2v2 back Kespa u fuckers). Frankly I'm surprised management had stuck with s2 rumble hyuk this long.
You realize these three together already matched Boxer's vZ winning streak. wtF?

He has shown very nice micro and something that T1 zergs have been lacking since like ever, which is game sense. He caught attention last year because he could read the flow of the game really well, pay attention to minimal detail and good execution with impecable micro. There was talk that part of his virtues were developed thanks to being a 2v2 player, especially in combat.
Btw, how is the MBC zerg pool deep? With TheZerg gone, Saint is the only one left. Hyun seems like a bust, and Shark is not exactly going to break through now.
Probably the best thing T1 could get their hands on. Yeah, yeah, he is no starleague contender, but at least he is a guy I think can ensure at least a 50% win ratio in PL, which should be enough to give T1 at least a shot at playoffs this season. The T1 zerg problem has become endemic, and it's not only a skill problem, but a psychological one, and I'm afraid the state of mind of their zergs could affect TheZerg.
