Week 7 is done, and the top of the log has gotten even more tense with this week's results, Terran and Protoss has continued their dominance in the player standings, and the map statistics are starting to sway uncomfortably in a certain direction. But let's start at the beginning.

In the team standings this week we see the top of the log heat up, with four teams placed on eight wins and four losses, and WeMade behind with a single win on 7-4. KTF is the biggest climber in the top 4, moving up four positions after taking a dominating 3-0 victory over MBC, and following it up with a hard-earned 3-2 victory over the boardleaders, SKT.

Samsung has managed to hold on to its position with a 3-2 win over STX, while Lecaf started the week off badly with a loss to SKT, but they managed to follow it up with a win over an unfortunate MBC.

At the bottom of the table, we see ACE move out of last place for the first time ever, and eSTRO overtake them as the current worst proteam. This is in large thanks to a very strong performace by DaezanG, going 2-0 against eSTRO this week, taking down both the eSTRO aces of UpMagic and Tester. Perhaps as surprising at the bottom of the log, is last season's third place winners, CJ, being a single win ahead of ACE, and holding on to tenth place tied with Hanbit.

In the map standings, we see the standings taking an uncomfortable turn towards a repeat of last season's standings. 60.5% win rate for Protoss this season, with the worst Protoss map (Othello) showing a 55% win ratio, and the two best maps (Blue Storm and Katrina), holding out on 72% and 83% win ratios.

Terran has taken a marked drop in the map rankings this week, winning only 3 of their 16 non-mirror games this week. Zerg isn't doing much better, with an winning percentage of 41%, mostly kept up by Andromeda (52%) on which Zerg has had 11 of it's 27 non-mirror victories this season.

This week in the 1v1 standings things continue to look bleak for the Zerg players. There are still no Zerg players in the top 10, although Jaedong has managed to claw his way up to the 11th spot with a 6-3 score, which puts him tied 8th.

We see some of last season's big guns moving into the top 10 this week, with Jangbi taking a strong 7th position, and Firebathero taking a tied 8th with Hwasin. DaezanG has also moved into the top 10 thanks to his fabulous 2-0 against eSTRO, which moved his team out of last spot.

And yet, as with last week (and as seems to be the proleague trend), the younger players are completely dominating the top. Flash holds on to first, after dominating Sea and Hyuk this week, but losing to Best, while Best moves up to 4th with his win over Flash. Pure is still holding on at 2nd, while Midas moves up a position after going 1-1 this week.

On 6th position we have Lucifer, a player that has truly come into his own this season, showing a 5-0 score. I don't know how many of you have seen his games, but this kid is on fire at the moment, showing some of the most creative Protoss play since Nal_ra was at his prime.

If you've never seen someone win a game by building pure darkies, watch Lucifer vs TheMania from the previous week's proleague. If you want to see how to break a Terran defense on Andromeda, watch Lucifer vs Light from this week. This kid has me more excited than any other young player this season.

In the 2v2 Standings we see the first CJ 2v2 combination in the top 5. There has been some questions as to why no CJ 2v2 team is in the top 5 while their total score is 9-2, and the reason for this is simply that they have played so many different teams.

This season, CJ has played three different 2v2 teams: Savior/Nbs, Kwanro/Nbs, and Effort/Nbs. All three teams have done extremely well, but only Savior and Nbs have played enough games together to be on the top 5 rankings. With that said, Nbs is definitely a 2v2 player to watch out for, as he takes complete control of any 2v2 game he plays in.

Not much else has changeed on the 2v2 standings for this week.

It's time for a new feature this week, thanks to a comment by Manifesto7. This feature is called, quite simply, Daigomi's Liquibet. What happens in this feature? Well, I simply post what my Liquibets for the week will be.

Now, I've never been the #1 liquibetter of a season, or even done fantastically well, but maybe you can't quite decide what to bet on, and need some statistical help. That's what I'm here for! So, here goes:

Hate to be the bringer of ill tidings, but KeSPA website is reporting T1's win/loss differential to be +9, instead of +10, as it is here.

Any way of verifying which number is right?

EDIT:

I'd assume KeSPA is right, but since the stats are fully automated and takes results from the TLPD, I have no idea where the mistake could lie I'll try to find out.

EDIT: Ahh shit Haha, my internet is completely capped so I'm connecting through 3g atm. I will upload the fixed picture as soon as I'm uncapped again.

I gotta say, I agree with +10.

I remember mentally figuring out where SKT and KTF would be, given various outcomes of their match, using the numbers from the KeSPA website, at the time.

I think they just accidentally dropped a game from SKT, but I can't really verify this right now.

If theres a difference in points, it could possibly be due to a penalty point.

edit: Confirmed. It's a penalty point.

edit: eSTRO has one too.

Ahhhh. That explains everything.

Any chance we'll know what the penalties were for?

EDIT: I suppose you can reflect the -1 point deductions for eSTRO and SKT on the Results and Standings thread by asterisking their scores, and providing a short addendum.

I wish they'd balance the maps better, but at least this proleague season is stronger than the last one.

Nice writeup daigomi.

I think the penalty point is for the SKT vs Lecaf 2v2 game - if you were watching, you would see that someone on SKT accidently sent a message to all (instead to ally, I'm guessing).

Who am I do criticise someone like Daigomi but you gave to much credit to Mind. I don't think he can win with Best and Jaedong. He can easly loose both games in the shape he is right now and results of those matches may be diffrent ( not much but still )

Mind beat Jaedong fairly recently, so I think he can take out Jaedong. Also, Best is a good up and coming player, but he hasn't really shown as good play against Terran as he has against Protoss, while Mind has been swamped with TvP's recently, and he has done quite well. So that's why I'm voting for Mind over Best
