Well now that I'm on staff it appears that this is going to be a regular installment. I'll try to maintain a respectable quality and keep it interesting. Same pattern as before - four teams, four players, three races, two winners will go to MSL, two losers drop to MBC offlines.
Kwanro – Despite being hailed as the next ‘hungry zerg’, following in the footsteps of such illustrious names as Byun, YellOw, and July, Kwanro has yet to truly prove himself. Strength in the vs Terran matchup (70% there) highlights his ZvZ and ZvP weakness, being merely 1/3 in the former and 2/8 in the latter. This past MSL he dropped out after a 0-2 loss to STX’s rising Protoss, Kal.
Kwanro’s ZvT is undeniably powerful, and his mutalisks are quite fearsome. But until he picks up his other two matchups, he will be another one-matchup wonder. In this all-race group, he’ll have a chance to show what he’s got.
CrocuS AKA Justin AKA Bifrost AKA Casy[Name] AKA TheMarine[Name] – He’s fat, he’s round, he bounces on the ground. They say he looks like a plumped-up version of old teammate Dongwook, but he plays nothing like real Casy. One of the most reviled progamers, he is hated not only for his list of AKAs longer than Guantanamo’s detainee roster, but also for dull and uninspiring play.
Another mediocre Terran who somehow manages to knock out fan favorites and qualify for leagues, he’s sub-par in all matchups, hitting mid 40s against T and Z while carrying a 33% vs P to boot. He has shown good mechanics, but a lack of that famous Sense of Star that characterizes true StarLeaguers. Still, he manages to do well in minor leagues – bad for the general fanbase, but I suppose good for him and his 2.5 fans.
free[gm] – Hanbit’s top Protoss, and one of the neo-neo generation Protosses [along with Much and Bisu. We need to think of a better name for those guys]. Posting consistent results in ProLeague, he nevertheless fell 0-2 against Orion and Flash in the current MSL, suffering the same fate as most of his fellow seeds.
He’ll be looking for revenge, and in this group, none of the players have the resume to challenge him. An all-around contender, capable in all matchups, he’s the favorite to go undefeated. + Show Spoiler [OSC Results] + Furthermore, he’s got to be pissed after losing PvT to CASY of all people
Bright – 0-2 Lecaf Zerg, losing against Sunny and Sea in proleague over two years ago. He recently came to Survivor after triumphing over c[fou] 2-1, Ho 2-0, and Stork 2-1 [after some devious builds]. He’s easily the most likely player to go winless in this group, but who knows? He might cheese his way to victory again.
Kwanro to win. His game last MSL against Light here was quite a stunning display of ZvT dominance over a respectable Terran. Justin’s TvZ is patchy and inconsistent, even when he wins. This is a fairly straightforward pick.
Free’s PvZ is quite respectable. Bright’s ZvP is 5pool. Either Bright wins with 5pool [unlikely considering the map] or he loses to Free’s stronger mechanics/higher level of play. Furthermore, 3 base Protoss is still strong on this map, and the race of True Men is still 5-0 against the Swarm.
Winners’ Game < Zodiac >
The probable free vs Kwanro game would most likely go to Free. Kwanro’s ZvP is his worst matchup stats-wise, and free’s PvZ is definitely a notch above average. Still, the 8-3 Z>P map could throw a curveball in free’s direction. My money’s on free, regardless.
Losers’ Game < Zodiac >
This game is going to be like that overused internet image regarding the Special Olympics – regardless of who wins, both are still retarded. OK, maybe it’s a bit harsh on Bright. Still, I don’t see this game, if it happens, as a candidate to make many Pimpest Plays or TLFE Playbacks. Bifrost to attempt all he can possibly do to lose, but still come out with the win.
Kwanro’s ZvT on this map is purely insane. Look at his game against Canata here if you don’t believe me. Then look at Bifrost’s TvZ. And realize that, if all my predictions hold up, Bifrost has no chance in hell of winning.
Free and Kwanro to advance as winner and runner-up, respectively.
Didn't have good images this time. These people don't have good names for it =/ Will try to do better next time^^; As always, feedback encouraged.
Love and luck, LR

LR these previews are amazing. I can't believe you have the will to do all that.

I'd say It'd be fair to mention that Justin is the second best 2v2 player in the world. Not that I have any 1v1 respect for him, but god damn is he a monster in 2v2 together with Flower(who might be even worse 1v1).
Anyway, nice work.
PS. Please Kwanro, learn how to play v Z and P...

Very nice job LR, some people just don't appreciate humor I guess.

Nice one again LR. I really appreciate the work that goes into these things. As for the win record/percentage thing, you should clear up which on it is. A 2/8 win record is a 20% win record, while a 1/4 win percentage is a 25% win percentage ![](/mirror/smilies/puh2.gif)
Anyway, I'm voting the obvious Kwanro/Free combo here. Would prefer to see them in the MSL as well.

Kewl. Free and Kwanro ftw
Though Kwanro is good, who the hell really needs him? We DO have Jaedong now, after all.

Go,go all zerg players

Maybe he's learning ZvP from the maestro. Not to be overlooked, is the fact that three of his vP losses were against Bisu, before Bisu started his mini-slump. While not bisu, Kal is also a strong PvZ player.

I really enjoyed this preview.
