We saw this in the WoL beta, where builds were quickly popularized and just as fast made obsolete. One of the mentioned issues with Liquipedia was the outdated information - with how quickly things will change, are there any potential systems or rules in place to handle such guaranteed occurrences? This is a great initiative. The hope in humanity within me grows. :> The strategy team on a whole is way more in tune with metagame changes than the Liquipedia crew. One big problem with Liquipedia previously was that its staff and volunteers were not always sure of what was happening in the metagame and as a result couldn't properly make the updates necessary on Liquipedia.

Awesome. What about old guides and threads? Will they be allowed to drift to the bottom of the popularity stack that is the Strategy forum as per the usual, or will they be archived in a special place, perhaps as a snapshot of past metagames? Or is every guide that passes scrutiny going to be treated as an active work in progress, such that guides wouldn't necessarily be deprecated, rather they'd be continually updated as in the spirit of the PvZ guide?

All old guides are already archived in the recommended guides thread under the historical section. Also, I don't think it's viable/we have the manpower to keep every single of our featured guides updated. Maybe one day, with an absurd amount of high level volunteers.

This brings up the greater question: When a thread is Liquipedia-ized, since it is on a wiki, it will grow to be updated and ultimately inconsistent with the "original" guide. Such inconsistencies are undesirable. One possible solution that comes immediately to mind would be to lock the respective forum thread once a guide actually makes the transition to Liquipedia. What are the thoughts from the staff members for TL/LP on this?
