There's obviously some correlation between winning and happiness, especially for a player with his standards. But, despite switching to SC 2 later than most, he was still GM in Korea. I can only think of Flash as having had more success than Sea at such a young age (even if just a beast in pro league). If anyone can succeed at SC 2, it's probably him. I don't know who to fault, but you can't think that it helps to play BW on the side. If you view BW as the better game and the more enjoyable one, and one which you were a top player, then that nostalgia can't help. I also don't think it helps if you don't put Sea in the proleague lineup. Whether it's a different game or not, Sea earned the right to play himself out of the lineup, by losing in proleague. EGTL was already fielding players that you knew were going to lose. I don't care what happened in practice, Sea earned that right and you have to know that not playing him = retirement. You can't afford to lose your most talented Korean player due to being more concerned with marketing or w/e. Or maybe they already knew about his decision to retire and he didn't want to play or practice for it? Ofc I thought about that and that's possible. But, if you join a team, I think you owe it to them to at least stick it out and go down fighting. Sea had more fun playing than anyone I've seen, so something doesn't add up. If you were one of the top pro league players ever, your pride would be shot if players you didn't think highly of were playing instead of you. I just think Sea was kinda forced into retirement by circumstances. I mean, taeja and hero are locks to be in the lineup. And since it's a team partnership, EG is going to want to have their equal share of players. I'm sure there's also a blend of I think this gives us the best shot of winning and I think we can also insert "x" to give us more viewers. If Sea didn't decide to retire before the rosters were released, there's no one else to blame but EGTL for that lack of foresight. Whether Sea should retire or not, you have to know he would at least impulsively want to. I thought Sea should have left Liquid for simply allowing someone to give him a 2 in pro league... But, given that he was given a 2 which is absurd, you would have to think someone had insider knowledge already of this decision. I don't want to speak for Sea here, but it is very likely that the fun you saw Sea have during his stream sessions was from the interactions with his fans and their reactions whenever something happened. If you were streaming while having fans spam that they love you, laugh with you during funny moments and stuff I bet you would be looking like you had alot of fun too, even if you didn't enjoy the game competitively and thought it was massively flawed.
Also add that Sea have always been a cheerful character, it's probably just how he is you know.

I know, but I was watching Sea stream "minutes" before the first pro league match started. I think he said he was headed to the studio. He looked strong and as if he had been in practice mode. I couldn't believe he wasn't in the lineup. That also happened to be the last time he streamed. Sea def struck me as a player that played for the fans and would put on a show. It's hard to put on a show, riding the bench, though. Do you really think Sea would have retired if he thought his chances were good of playing in pro league, given that timing?

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The elephant has left the building...

This is unexpected and extremely upsetting Good luck in the future, Sea!

This leaves I think stork as the player with the greatest longevity, and it makes Thorzain a bit more important to the EGTL terran line.

1) So sad. After seeing him beating Naniwa at IPL5 I was really looking forward to see him play more esp on EG-TL Proleague, 2) This explains why he wasn't playing in Proleague I guess. Now i feel slightly better about the decision to trade him for week two. 3) GLHF GG WP Sea!!!!

meh I picked him for my Fantasty Team makes me sad

Well, was fun while it lasted!
