Given the chaotic state of the monarchy in the Game of Thrones/Song of Ice and Fire series, we're totally okay with throwing yet another contender into the ring for the title of "King of North."

I call noobs! There is only one House claiming King in the North, the other Houses are vying for the Iron Throne / the crown of the seven kingdoms. Amateurs
Great write up. I give Stephano a 70% chance to take it all, there aren't many outside of Korea who can challenge him.

How can you dismiss Grubby's entire PvP as a coin flip and his PvT as 'deathball'. He has some of the sexiest PvT there is. Never heard of Grubby storms? Seriously, i always like these things but i thought the whole paragraph on Grubby was a bit silly. Suggesting he only has one gimmicky way of winning every match up when he's quite the opposite of that type of player.

I think what speaks for Stephano more than anything is the fact that Vortix, Sortof and Nercio is all on the top half and 2 of them will be sent to LB by the end of round 2. Even Ret and Bly are up there. Looking at the line up for this tournament it looks like it could be really zerg dominated, but looking at the brackets im not so sure as some of the strongest zergs will be in LB quite early, leaving stephano in what looks like quite a zerg free bottom half.
I don't really see Darkforce/Diktomini getting past Happy/Lucifron/Titan and Socke leaving probably JonnyRecco as his biggest threat before WB finals.

It's a travesty that Germany has four invites to this event when countries like Ukraine are stuck with two.

Sorry but this is an absolute no-go to say, either if it may be true or not. It is one big event for the SC2 European scene and everyone who is qualified deserves to be there.

Feel free to flame me for this but I think sentence like these destroy a lot what other games tried to established over years.

I think/hope you misunderstood him?

That germany has 4 slots and others, with arguably better players, have less is tasting a bit sour.

Great article. One quibble about analysis: What are these Stephano physical meltdowns your refer to? I understand the guy likes to have a good time and I wouldn't be surprised if nonsense displayed by his infamous IPL 4 "interview" hurts his gameplay the next morning, but do we really have data on meltdown-to-loss? I mean (like say, MVP, who also is sometimes accused of looking "bad") Stephano is a relentless and abusive metagamer. I think it would be easier to attribute Stephano's losses to gameplay aspects: overgreediness (Mana, dreamhack) or building counterattack units which never got to counterattack (OZ, the NYC arena) which didn't pay off. Stephano looks so good because he makes so many of the right assumptions. When he makes the wrong ones, he's just a Starcraft player. Perhaps you can argue that he makes bad decisions after these "meltdowns," but I'm not convinced. I just would rather attribute wins and losses to something regarding gameplay instead of assuming something ad hominem and sort of mystical. Besides, after that awful BlueTea/Destiny scandal, are we really supposed to believe that Stephano is the only SC player partying during big events?

Demuslim's ranking is too low. Hell, the fact that he's behind JR is weird since he beat him at WCS (at a time where he was struggling vs zergs).

Why is Stephano in WCS Europe? I thought Americans couldn't compete.

Props for another nice power rank!
I use it not only for reflection on my view certain players, but it also fills my gaps in knowledge of upcoming talents. Keep up the good work!

Never realised how large the difference between the american continent and europe is, to be honest. I'm sad about it really, don't really understand it..
