Why not just make a k.o. tournament without things like losers bracket? If really needed, do a group stage before, but that's it. All regular sports run that way. It's just more interesting, more tense and alot easier to understand. You lose, you are out.

All the reasons they had for doing this monstrosity of system are gone. The probability of all favorites dying early in the tournament is non-existant.
