Why not just make a k.o. tournament without things like losers bracket? If really needed, do a group stage before, but that's it. All regular sports run that way. It's just more interesting, more tense and alot easier to understand. You lose, you are out.

All the reasons they had for doing this monstrosity of system are gone. The probability of all favorites dying early in the tournament is non-existant.

I think it's jsut as complicated as before, just taht we're used to the old complication since we watched like 2 years of it

Goooo StC, Terran fo lyfeeee. I personally like losers brackets coming from playing fighting games but honestly I dont pay much attention to the format until its like quarters semis etc I just look for the players I like to watch.

MLG should just put stephano, naniwa, nerchio, mana and thorzain in group play at every mlg.

congrats to leenock!

on another note... 14 of the top 16 were Koreans, and not mma, nestea, mvp ...mc, the list goes on. not sure what to make of this.

the new bracket system is just horrible, i loved watching idra play fri/sat he looks better than he has in a long time, and loses 1 set and he basically is done.

14 best of three's without dropping a series... that is just monstrous.

Edit: I lied. 16. 14 + 2 Extended Series by coming up for the Open Winners.

Darn you, Leenock!! How DARE you pull a "dark horse" on me and ruin my predictions! >.<' I totally had STC beating you, and then losing to First! You've invited the wrath of God and the almighty Mvp for not permitting First his title!

Team LG-IM will have its revenge!! :-U

In all seriousness, a lotta great games this weekend. Ultimately, I'm happy for Leenock on his second MLG win.

it's funny that people are complaining about the new system being bad when it practically eliminates extended series in the championship bracket with exception to the semifinals and winner bracket double elims, and no more extended series in the grand finals. group brackets do the exact same thing as before with the old group round-robins: determine seeding for championship bracket.

GG Leenock, can't wait to see the Leenock gangnam style gif :D

No long "Faceless Koreans" thread this time ?

I guess there's no bias for Team Liquid's "featured tournament" ...
