It went by so fast it's not even funny. Something was missing but I can't put a finger on it, great work overall.
Hopefully we can buy a TL hoody when the shop is online to get it shipped together with the poster

Edit: Also congratulations on 20k on the first eve!
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Oh man I like Jinro so much more now... I laughed out loud during his segments. Also whoever did the cartoons for Jinro slapping/sleep walking is awesome.

Hate to be negative, but 2 hour doco about sc2 players and it doesn't actually talk about sc2 at all. Quite boring, although some of the players are somewhat interesting, most of the time I was anticipating it to 'get to the story' or get to some kind of narrative. I know its not meant to be like that, like some drama or something. But honestly it dragged and was boring.

you fail to understand the concept of documentary

Understanding the concept has nothing to do with it. I understand it wasn't there intention to make a narrative but rather for it to be an introspection of the players and stuff. I just felt that it dragged because of this and as a whole it sorely missed some in game action and some general tournament 'play with the player' moments.

Thinking about it now, they should have really put parts of replays in it. Some easy examples would have been when each player was talking about themselves you could get them to describe there play style and then show examples. Another crucial moment where this would have been key was when jinro did well at GSL, show the actually games, the winning moments and parts of the games where he did well and perhaps where he could give insight into his play etc

The point of the documentary was not to talk about StarCraft but to talk about the players. It was made to allow fans to connect with the players on a new level and to show the behind the scenes.

The problem with this kind of documentary is that rosters can, and most likely will, change. When I first heard of the documentary, I was hoping for a rundown of the history of TL, and the impact of BW and SC2 regarding the community. I was half hoping for a documentary along the lines of "I Got Next" from the fighting game community.

While it's not poorly made or particularly uninteresting, this is akin to a documentary of a specific team or era of players in basketball or football. It is not what I was expecting personally, and it's something that I lost interest in about half way through. Even the execution of this documentary and taking in to account the subgenre that it belongs in, it was really a let down from what I have seen. The player background and stories are usually only a few quick lines and then it gets to the parts that are really interesting: 1) what the players do, and 2) their interaction. There really is no point to it and it really fails to grab my attention even though it's in an area that I would be interested in (I watch many documentaries on sports, video games, and people).

It may not have seemed like a documentary like people would expect, but I really enjoyed it.
It really gave an insight into the players and how they all fit into the team.

If I had to criticise it, I'd say that the lack of effort put in to travelling back to the past when Jinro slapped HotBid for footage of that moment was disappointing, but we can't have everything, I suppose.

The most emotional moment for me was that guy next to tylers wife who had made a sign for Tyler and kept holding it. I dont know why it exactly made my eyes wet but its just.. everyone can be a fan of nestea or mvp who are super succesful, but that guy likes tyler and he likes him so much that he goes to the mlg to cheer for him. and nto even that but he will make a sign with TYLER written in fancy letters and he will draw some protoss units and no matter how the performance of tyler is he will keep the sign up cheering for the player he came for. sadly most of the fans come if you have success in esports not like in other sports where success will help too but you wont change your fav team because your team didnt play good for a year.
we need more fans like him =)
(hope its not just someone out of tylers family cuz that would make that less cool :D )

to the movie itself: (i dont know how it was produced and how much time and money they had)
i did expect more. i dont know why that movie was made if you want to show that to someone who is not realy into esports or sc2 then this movie might be great because you get to know TL and the players. but if you saw most of the hotbids interviews he made with TL players than this was just hotbid interviews with the players and some little extra but the extra was too little. id like to know more about [random TL player], where he lives how he grew up, when did he start playing? why did he choose to play sc2 etc ...

I have to say, I like it but mainly because I love Liquid too much not to. I think it's not a great documentary, but it was fun for a TL fan. Like others have said, it really should have focused more on story and player interaction. I'm sure Hero, Taeja, and Zenio fit into Liquid well, but you couldn't really see how much they loved it from their interviews. You couldn't see the rush of liquid players after Dreamhack until Day9 describes it. You couldn't see when Tyler went in there to comfort Huk (was it?) and support him and give him advice in the middle of a series. Sure, they had words of how close everyone is, but we wanted to see such interactions between players. Story lines are also great too, and Liquid is one that has a lot of them imo. Lovely film for me as a Liquid fan. Not so much as a documentary.

I really liked it, a good look at all of the liquid players without feeling bloated. I also like the fact that they've been able to ship it quite quickly, I think that other documentaries such as Star Nation may look dated when they are finally released.

It seemed more like a 'meet team liquid' piece than a meaningful documentary. There were personal stories but apart from sheth's name which was a genuinely beautiful and tragic story they seemed to be trying too hard to force an emotional response but because of the dry question and answer format that didn't work for me.

Day9s bits didn't seem to add much compared to off hand comments he's made in his own daily (#100?) where he talks about the community. There were a few things like mentions of deezer and combatex that were just thrown in there with no explanation and would be totally lost on anyone not already familiar with the scene. I think that isn't the best way to open things up to a wider audience.

The music was great but I would have preferred it if more of the story was told through pictures and video and music and less to be through asking for people's opinions - and if there was more of a story. Splitting up the movie into a segment for each player really gave me the impression that the team wasn't particularly close as each person had a separate story rather than telling the team's story.

That said, I enjoyed it. Team liquid makes compelling subject matter.

Just finished watching it and all I can say is it was simply amazing. I don't care if there wasn't a storyline to follow or whatnot, the different sections of the players was great. It was put together well and I think it was worth the wait. I just wish there could've been a few more people in the interviews instead of having the same people for every player. I hope my donation will help bring even better things from Liquid in the future.
