Latest Updates

02:18 GMT (+00:00): Ganzi 2 – 1 viOLet on Cloud Kingdom. Ganzi went for fast triple orbital while viOLet made a fast lair and attacked with a huge 2 base ling-baneling-roach force. Ganzi had 2 tanks on the high ground which let him hold easily, and won with a counter.

02:07 GMT (+00:00): MKP 2 – 1 DRG. Cloud Kingdom - MKP decided to commit to a two-rax bunker rush, placing three bunkers to wall-off the narrow choke at DRG's natural. DongRaeGu decided to pull drones and zerglings to try and break through the wall before it was completed, but ended up losing too many units in the process. MKP simply resumed building the wall after cleaning up a number of drones and zerglings, and received the GG from DRG.

02:02 GMT (+00:00): DRG 1 – 1 MKP. Metropolis - Some good mutalisk harass and ling runbyes meant DongRaeGu had a slight edge as both he and MKP took their sides of the map and went for a macro game. MKP brought his strange but successful bio-mech combination once more, but DongRaeGu was able to take care of it with some excellently placed fungals and baneling hits. DRG then threatened to throw the game away by producing ultralisks, but managed to switch to brood lords in time to secure the victory.

02:01 GMT (+00:00): viOLet 1 – 1 Ganzi on Metropolis non-cross. Long back and forth game where Ganzi spent most of it contesting viOLet's fourth. He was unable to take it down and eventaully died to late-game ultra army.

01:39 GMT (+00:00): Ganzi 1 – 0 viOLet on Entombed cross. Ganzi 2 rax and pulled SCVs, viOLet just kind of rolled over to it.

01:37 GMT (+00:00): MKP 1 – 0 DRG on Entombed non-cross. MKP applied some pressure with a bunker into triple orbital, DRG sacrificed a few roaches early but did not do enough and MKP's marines were too scary once it got to 3 base vs 3 base.

01:23 GMT (+00:00): PartinG 1 – 2 MC on Daybreak. PartinG double 10 gated inside MC's base. MC saw them and Gged instantly.

01:18 GMT (+00:00): MC 2 – 0 PartinG on Cloud Kingdom. MC went for heavy 2 base play with both void rays and colossus, and finally a mothership. PartinG got up to 5 bases, but MC won the maxed out army battle and took the game.

00:59 GMT (+00:00): MC 1 – 0 PartinG on Entombed cross. PartinG opened with phoenixes and went on the offensive with stalkers and the flying units, MC held on just barely and beat him back to win.

00:46 GMT (+00:00): MKP 2 – 1 Heart. Cloud Kingdom - MKP's early hellion-banshee attack caught Heart going only marines without a bunker, which meant a quick win for MKP.

00:40 GMT (+00:00): DRG 1 – 2 Ganzi on Cloud Kingdom. They traded expansions a handful of times but DRG was able to keep more than he lost, won out with ultras in the end.

Past Updates:
+ Show Spoiler +

00:39 GMT (+00:00): Heart 1 – 1 MKP. Metropolis - MKP went for the hellion-reaper-medivac build made famous by Boxer, while Heart opted to play a more orthodox style. The two players ended up attacking each other in a bizarre early game base trade scenario, one that saw the two players reset the game at 9 supply to 13. However, Heart was left with slightly better units, and some more SCVs to rebuild from, and was able to win the reset.

00:24 GMT (+00:00): MKP 1 – 0 Heart. Entombed Valley - Chaotic drops and counter-drops ensued as both Terrans went for marine-tank based play, but MKP came out decisively ahead in the exchanges. MKP used this lead to crush Heart in a direct confrontation and took the first game.

00:19 GMT (+00:00): Ganzi 2 – 0 DRG on Metropolis cross. Ganzi opened by expanding and then getting reactor hellions and a banshee while taking a third base, while DRG attempted a ling-roach bust. Ganzi's banshee did more damage and left him with 3 orbitals vs 2 hatcheries and he won out in the midgame.

00:01 GMT (+00:00): Ganzi 1 – 0 DRG on Shakuras cross. Ganzi kept DRG on equal bases and repeatedly denied DRG's third and fourth attempts, then rode his superior income to victory.

23:34 GMT (+00:00): viOLet 2 – 1 PartinG, Cloud Kingdom. After multiple late-game brood lord vs mothership battles, the game broke down into a hectic base trade scenario when PartinG decided he could not fight the Zerg army head on, and went for backdoor tactics instead. The game came down to the last few buildings on both sides, but viOLet had a stronger remaining army and was able to take the game.

23:28 GMT (+00:00): MC 2 – 1 Huk on Cloud Kingdom. Huk expanded off a small gateway army while simultaneously teching to colossus, MC moved out with 1 base colossus and ran him over.

23:18 GMT (+00:00): MC 1 – 1 Huk on Daybreak. MC opened DT while Huk went for blink stalkers. Huk didn't make any sentries and once MC's DTs were in his base he tapped out.

23:12 GMT (+00:00): Huk 1 – 0 MC on Entombed non-cross. Huk made 2 quick gates, then added a third and attacked MC. MC's first forcefield was bad and Huk waited for the second one to run out and rolled him over.

23:00 GMT (+00:00): viOLet 1 – 1 PartinG. Tal'Darim Altar - PartinG contemplated going for fast DTs after his forge FE, but changed his mind mid-way and went for a two base blink-stalker all-in. His indecision cost him, as he attacked later than the usual deadly timing, and viOLet was able to calmly use infestors, roaches, and zerglings to defeat the attack and collect the GG.

22:51 GMT (+00:00): Huk 1 – 2 Heart on Entombed non-cross. Huk opened 1 gate nexus to 4 gate, while Heart cloak banshee 1-1-1ed. Heart's first siege was bad and Huk cleaned up the first wave easily and went on to take the game.

22:46 GMT (+00:00): PartinG 1 – 0 viOLet, Daybreak - PartinG used some fast void ray + gateway unit pressure off his fast expand to hurt viOLet early on, allowing him to take his own third rather easily while limiting the Zerg economy. PartinG then followed up with a large blink stalker attack, and despite viOLet's best efforts with roaches and infestors, he was not able to hold out until his brood lord tech was finished.

22:39 GMT (+00:00): Heart 2 – 0 Huk on Cloud Kingdom. Huk went 2 base colossus again and gained a nice lead through the midgame, but lost a big battle going after Heart's third. Heart overtook him with good ghost usage in the late game to win.

22:25 GMT (+00:00): MC 2 – 1 MKP, Cloud Kingdom - MC followed his fast expand with a dark templar drop, but MKP stopped it easily as he was going for a two base push with a fast raven. MC looked like he would have trouble holding against MKP's push after having expended resources on the failed DT drop, but he managed to hold it off very well with good FF use, and took the lead instead. MC then tech switched into a massive colossus ball, allowing him to win the deciding battle of the game and take the series.

22:17 GMT (+00:00): Heart 1 – 0 Huk on Shakuras cross. Huk went for 2 base colossus timing, Heart dropped him and killed a lot of probes and Huk couldn't get a big enough army to stop the first marine marauder viking ball.

22:06 GMT (+00:00): MKP 1 – 1 MC on Metropolis cross. MC took an extremely fast third and MKP went on the offensive, MC held the initial attacks but his upgrades were too late and he fell slowly but steadily.

21:55 GMT (+00:00): PartinG 2 – 1 Ganzi on Metropolis cross. Long macro game with both dropping, Parting was able to make his more efficient.

21:48 GMT (+00:00): MC 1 – 0 MKP on Entombed non-cross. MKP took down MC's third quickly but MC came back with storms and overpowered the Terran army with archons and HT.

21:32 GMT (+00:00): PartinG 1 – 1 Ganzi on Cloud Kingdom. Ganzi opened with a fake 1-1-1 into command center, but PartinG went 5 gate + robo and pushed out after his second immortal and busted through Ganzi's natural.

21:25 GMT (+00:00): DRG 2 – 1 Heart on Cloud Kingdom. Long back and forth macro game, DRG fought 3-3 marines for a long time with ultras and infestors and after some nice late game fungals was able to overtake Heart's army.

21:21 GMT (+00:00): Ganzi 1 – 0 PartinG on Entombed cross. Ganzi did a 1-1-1 against a 1 gate expand, an incredibly long battle at the Protoss natural occurred and Ganzi came out ahead after constant small skirmishes.

21:01 GMT (+00:00): DRG 1 – 1 Heart on Metropolis cross. Heart opened reactor hellion into cloaked banshee, then did a mech push. DRG held off the push and then countered with lings as Heart all-ined with a second push, DRG stopped it with banelings and took the game.

20:48 GMT (+00:00): viOLet 3 – 0 Huk on Cloud Kingdom. Huk aggressively cannoned both the natural and third of viOLet but neither did enough damage. Violet massed up roaches and killed Huk.

20:45 GMT (+00:00): Heart 1 – 0 DRG on Shakuras cross. Heart won with a marauder and blue flame hellion attack.

20:39 GMT (+00:00): viOLet 2 – 0 Huk on Tal'Darim non-cross. Huk attempted the 3 pylon block of the natural and main but it didn't work on the version of the map they played on. Violet took control with mutas and Huk never had a chance.

20:23 GMT (+00:00): viOLet 1 – 0 Huk on Daybreak. Huk opened 8 gate and couldn't kill viOLet's third. Huk took a third and viOLet attacked the front and the third with roaches until he beat Huk down and took the win.

20:19 GMT (+00:00): DRG 1 – 2 PartinG on Tal'Darim. Parting opened 2 stargate and couldn't kill DRG's third. Went to relatively normal midgame, DRG took control with muta switch and killed with broodlords.

20:01 GMT (+00:00): Ganzi 3 – 0 Heart on Cloud Kingdom. Heart's mech vs Ganzi's bio, Heart had one bad siege 20 minutes in and lost his army to marauders.

19:59 GMT (+00:00): PartinG 2 – 0 DRG on Cloud Kingdom. PartinG did a good job denying DRG's expansions and when it got to late game his maxed army with a mothership overpowered broodlord infestor.

19:43 GMT (+00:00): Ganzi 2 – 0 Heart on Entombed non-cross. Marine tank vs marine tank, Ganzi controlled the game and won when Heart's army got trapped in between 2 of his forces.

19:38 GMT (+00:00): PartinG 1 – 0 DRG on Daybreak. PartinG opened with DT and killed the third and delayed the fourth. He mustered up a big stalker, immortal, sentry army and killed DRG before burrowed movement finished on roaches.

19:30 GMT (+00:00): Ganzi 1 – 0 Heart on Shakuras non-cross. Marine tank vs marine tank, Heart forgot siege mode and Ganzi forced a battle to win.

19:09 GMT (+00:00): MKP 3 – 0 Huk on Antiga. MKP meched and Huk overextended a bit trying to kill the third, MKP moved out and killed him.

19:07 GMT (+00:00): viOLet 2 – 1 MC on Metropolis cross. Got to split map and maxed armies, viOLet runs by with lings and killed MC's natural while winning a big engagement and rode his advantage to victory.

18:50 GMT (+00:00): MC 1 – 1 viOLet on Entombed non-cross. Both players got nearly maxed armies and viOLet forced a battle at MC's third, lost the game when he couldn't kill the base or the Protoss army.

18:48 GMT (+00:00): MKP 2 – 0 Huk on Cloud Kingdom. Huk 6 gated, MKP held off barely with his first medivacs and won in an incredibly long back and forth battle when his upgrades kicked in.

  • Game Two: Entombed non-cross. Both players got nearly maxed armies and viOLet forced a battle at MC's third, lost the game when he couldn't kill the base or the Protoss army.

  • Game Three: Metropolis cross. Got to split map and maxed armies, viOLet runs by with lings and killed MC's natural while winning a big engagement and rode his advantage to victory.

  • viOLet 2 - 1 MC

naesung, I had that same problem. I solved it by going to twitch.tv and logging out manually, then going back to the mlg stream and logging into twitch again from there. Hopefully that works for you as well =D

Game Three: Antiga. MKP meched and Huk overextended a bit trying to kill the third, MKP moved out and killed him.

Heart's mech vs Ganzi's bio, Heart had one bad siege 20 minutes in and lost his army to marauders.

I'm sorry to say this, but I think HuK is FuK'ed. A pity as well, considering he's the only foreigner in the tournament. Then again, MKP has some crazy momentum going for him.

I'm confused by the front page... it says MKP won 3 straight... but this says HuK is up 1 - 0.

I might have made a mistake, where does it say Huk is up 1-0?

As a slight suggestion for syntax could you guys bold-face the player names in the updates, and just let us assume that the one on the left is the winner (Obviously include the > sign and whatnot) since sometimes I just scroll down to look for the two names and it's harder when the loser isn't bolded. Not that big of a deal either way though, great work!

MKP is back to that winter championship form he appeared to have lacked at IPL4. But with MC beating him and DRG, MC is certainly still a threat. The foreigner hope got pummeled out of the building sadly.

I feel Huk is a bit over the top.
A shame the only foreigner gets beaten up so bad. Imho Stephano or Naniwa should have had his seat.

Can someone explain why DRG made it and not parting? They had the exact same score, but parting wins in the head to head......

Wait... sorry if this is a stupid question but I gotta ask, parting and DRG are both 3-4, 9-12, and parting won head to head 2:1. Why is he then knocked out?

The head to head matches it was drg, parting and heart tied in a circle. So that couldn't be used, so this was used Head to Head Games Winning Percentage (Games Won vs. Tied Players / Games Played vs. Tied Players) Drg was 3-3 while parting was 2-3 in that regard. Or you can go by slasher's tweet "The decision is based off map score between the three tied players, DRG, Parting and Heart. Because Heart 3-0'ed Parting, he's out."

The first day he was having problems with his wrist. So I preassume it must've gotten better the second day hence his better score.

I'm just confused right now... How come and DRG is through and PartinG eliminated when they have the same wins/losses in games and in maps and PartinG won in their match? ;o

Can somebody explain me why DRG advancing and Parting dropped out? Both have the same stats (3-4 , 9-12) and Parting won the match vs DRG. Just want to know the rule behind that, something to do with the previous seeding?

Well, after you sort with games and matches you sort by alphabet. PartinG needs to change nickname to !!!!!!.

Yeah the tiebreaking rules of this tourney leaves a sour taste in the mouth. For all intents and purposes I believe DRG should have been knocked out, not parting.

I think so too. But is there really no rule behind that DRG advancing? Just because of the sort of alphabet? would be a really bad joke. Usually the direct match deciding in a tiebreaket scenario, or they have to play an extra match.

I wonder why MLG stream info appears on TL if it's not free to watch. I remember a post saying TL would only put free to watch streams on their stream list.

The whole taking results from the 3 is fine to choose the first person who advances, but once that guy is promoted the results should be then be between the last two left. But this is MLG and they think it makes a difference to play the extra 3rd game after a 2-0. It doesn't

If they had just played normal bo3's Heart and DRG would've still gone through with Parting eliminated with the worst map score. Heart 8-9, DRG 7-9 and Parting with 7-10. The only difference is that we wouldn't be seeing this dumb looking situation with DRG and Parting on same map scores but DRG advancing even though he lost to Parting.

If i can watch DreamHack for free in nice quality why should i watch MLG? Hopefully i'm not the only one, maybe when they lost too many viewers they'll shift back to free streams. Cause isn't that what we wanted? E-Sport to grow and becomming more public? PayStreams will work against it and I will never pay money to watch some hours e-sports, cause i also don't pay to watch sport....And i wonder if the money they get will help the players or the e-sport ...

if u are good in something never do it for free !

paystreams are not working against e-sports,
of course a pay stream should have a much better production quality.
there mlg has to learn a bit from gsl.

things like yesterdays decision process of who will advance is not very professional.
let the audience wait for one hour without any content should never happen.

anyways mkp <3
