![[image loading]](http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/6227/ewmtopheader.png) As the first season of the 2012 GSL draws to a close, so does the first season of the E-Sports Weekly Match. Four weeks have passed, 4 players have fought to the top of a bracket packed with talent to qualify for the finals event, eyes set firmly on the minimap prize. Four clearly talented players, however only one of them can walk away with a Code A seed for GSL Season 2. For the finals event, their last test before one of them sits into the GSL booth next season, we'll be broadcasting the matches LIVE from Seoul Korea, Monday, Mar 05 5:00am GMT (GMT+00:00)Our four players will face off at the Intel e-Stadium at Technomart 3rd Floor, Sindorim, Seoul, Korea. Matches will be broadcast via the EWM stream on TwitchTV, with Wolf. In addition to the four players facing off for their Code A seed, we'll be bringing you a special treat for our first live event. Prior to the main event we'll have a showmatch between two of the best players in the world currently: MvPGenius and MvPDongRaeGu. Be sure to tune in early so you don't miss a moment of the action! Just who are the four players facing off for the Code A seed? Let's take a look at them, and their path through the EWM to get here. Week 1![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/images/players/2243.jpg) MvPNoblesseAs a former Code S player, Noblesse is a stranger to few. Having had quite a bit of experience at live events, Noblesse may have an edge over his opponents in that regard. Showcasing his talent that got him there in the first place, Noblesse marched through his bracket with ease, only dropping a single game during his entire run. Will he unleash this same ruthless fury on his competitors in the finals?' Week 2![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/images/liquibet/players/noimage.jpg) FXOTearCast in the looming shadow of his teammates Oz, Leenock, and GuMiho, Tear has large shoes to fill when it comes down to playing for FXO. Like Noblesse before him, Tear tore through his bracket, only dropping a single game in (arguably) the easiest match-up to do so in. With teammates like those mentioned previously, you can bet he's training hard for his first live broadcast event. Week 3![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/tlpd/images/players/2307.jpg) MvPTAiLSHaving made quite the name for himself already, TAiLS is another player that came into the EWM with a reputation to uphold. Having taken down MVP and NesTea back to back in the 2011 GSTL Season 1 play-offs, in possibly one of the greatest moments in Team League history, TAiLS had already shown he could beat the best of the best. He then traveled to the UK for Multiplay's Insomnia 44 event, and the IPL 4 Qualifier within, where he took second place (against the already qualified Stephano) and earned himself a trip to the US coming up soon. Will he be able to attend IPL 4 as a Code A level player? Week 4![[image loading]](http://www.teamliquid.net/images/liquibet/players/noimage.jpg) As the Week 4 matches have not been aired yet, we cannot divulge the spoilers quite yet, but I can guarantee that he will definitely be able to hold his own against his equally fearsome opponents! Make sure to tune into our Week 4 broadcasts this week to see who the final qualified player will be! Rest assured that, like all other EWM events, this will be free to watch in High Definition! We're hard at work to make sure that our first finals is the best it can be, be sure to tune in and see who the first player seeded into the next round of Code A is! ![[image loading]](http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/2684/gombanner.png) ![[image loading]](http://img593.imageshack.us/img593/5008/twitchbanner.png)

I almost thought you play after GSL finals as I read the Genius/DRG part, then I noticed that slightly different date. Would have been really funny to call that the showmatch before your final :D
I once asked in one of your LR thread a few question, what I´m most interested at the moment are a) Are you allowed to play in the weeklys when you already won a prior? If yes, and you win, get´s the second place the spot and you can keep the money? b) Are you allowed to play if you are in Code A? If yes what happens if you win? Same as above?
Nice writeup, like your bracket previews http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=310952 http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=308773 . Hope you are satisfied with the overall viewer numbers, mosten times I see several thousand
Edit: sorry if there are the answers anywhere but I missed them

The Genius vs DRG will be a day after the GSL finals if I'm not wrong, which is brilliant. Hopefully they'll be some epic smack talk between them.

a) Yes, if you have already won a prior weekly for that season, you are allowed to play in the next one. Should you win, the spot will go to the second place finisher.
b) No, if you currently hold a spot in the GSL you are not allowed to participate.

Removes many issues Korean Weekly had. I guess there will never be a good compromise between "open" and "fair" but that is quite good. 100$ isn´t few for most people, so competing in this is quite important I guess.
Very hyped for the finals, might be the most important thing for the players (and teams) to reach Code A.

Tear is on...a tear recently. Predicting him to win the code A spot (depending on who is the 4th qualifier)

This is going to be amazing, the tournament so far has been really good and the winners of each week have really deserved it. The performances of a number of foreign players in them has been very encouraging too!
Hope this can get some kind of spotlight because it'd be a big shame if a live (offline) battle for a Code A spot flew under the radar, especially when it's got a DRG vs Genius showmatch tacked on too =)

I'm leaning towards Noblesse, he looked so good in his win!

Sorry, have not looked at the player list for the final EVM event, with all the weekend tournaments. Has the Ro64 started?

I'm totally confused. Is the DRG v genius showmatch referring to the GSL Finals? Or will EWM host another match between DRG and genius?

Hopefully Week 4 winner will be Jinro or HayprO, though that seems unlikely. Never count those two out, though. They've done well in EWM before. Jinro made it to Ro4 and HayprO Ro8.

cool, will be sure to watch!

I love the EWM, but I feel like the finals that have the code a seeds on the line should be more than a 4-man tournament. Do you guys plan on having like a point/rank system in the future where if you consistently placed well in the EWM weeklies, you still have a chance to play in the finals?
|
Wait, there's only 4 weeks in the first EWN season? I thought it was 8 weeks?

This season was much shorter than the rest of the seasons will be, don't worry.
We're currently planning an 8 Week Season for the next season starting March 19th.
We also may expand the bracket to top 2 placements in the EWM, but that's yet to be fully considered.

I'd love to see 3 MvP players in the finals, on top of the Genius/DRG showmatch. Looks like a pretty good start so far.
|
I don't really get it, the results in the post above, doesn't match at all with the results I see @ wikipedia, Jinro is according to Wikipedia the only foreigner who did wel with a 4th place @ EWM, Weekly #1.
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Esports_Weekly_Match
nvm. I got how you guys put it down, you only show all the games of the winner.
|
i would put money on genius and drg to troll it up :D
|
who is the jangbi imposter though
|
|
Wow quite a good performance by jinro and haypro. haypro might have lost in the ro8, but that against the champion.
edit: live broadcast on monday? Agh, gom hates working people...

pretty sure the MVP coach has been involved in the tournament organization and that's why ^^

Horror is to good, i think that guy will make it though. I enjoy watching his play tho as hes all over the place. (nothing compared to TSLPOLT i have no idea how that guy macros so hard!) but still horror is a major major influence in the scene as his play is just so intuitive.

is jangbi really switching to sc2?
