game 5 of sC nestea was enough to make it a worthy GSL for me.

Got to say I feel very sorry for GomTV, they put on a tournament with the highest production values of any SC2 competition in the world (atm), get the best players together (lack of foreigners notwithstanding) and have ended up with only two decent finals to show for it thus far (FD v HopeTorture and NesTea v MKP). Its got to be frustrating for the organisers to have their competition which still produces great games and has shown so much improvment in both delivery and play standard to end with such a damp fart.

I also feel somewhat sorry for Inca, he chocked, he chocked badly, more so, I think, than MKP did against imMVP. To be on such a big stage in front of friends, family, team mates and the world and get destroyed like that has to hurt for the guy. But at the same time his play just didn't warrant anything else, NesTea seemed to sail through in second gear, never being really threatened.
Trolling the Battle.Net forums, the most fun you can have with your pants on.

The semi-final Nestea vs SC should have been the real finals. The fifth game of the series was probably the best Starcraft 2 game I have ever seen; two elite players playing their hearts out.

this finals was definitely worse than the rest. Atleast in the mc july finals, july took a game, and it was more a representation of mcs skill than it was a representation of Incas lack thereof.

Still, you make it sound like no one remembers the the champion of these events, and i for one do.
taking a championship is no easy feat, and even in a finals like this one, nestea had showcased an incredible amount of skill in his previous sets to overcome these challenges. Like you said, nestea is the best in the world and i won't forget that as long as he continues making it to the top 4. its only fleeting glory if the player makes it so. If nestea can't continue to impress than it deserves to be fleeting.

great read, all i'm saying is that after you took the time to write all that up and actually make an interesting article, you shouldn't end it on a bad note.

NESTEA you won't be forgotten!

Thanks for the write-up. The finals went pretty much as I expected for the same reasons you pointed out in the post. However, anyone who feels the games leading up to the finals were the same as the finals should go watch the 4 star games - some of them I would have even given 5. There were some amazing games.

Thanks again.

And Congrats Nestea!!

InCa made the final because he has good PvP

This is so stupid.

InCa in the group stages went 2-1 (1 PvP vs HuK).
Ro16 he beat Virus 2-0
Ro8 he beat SangHo 3-0 (PvP)
Ro4 he beat NaDa 3-0.

That's a total of four PvP matches in the tournament, why is this stupid idea so widely believed? He didn't luck his way through the tournament.

The game 3 Nada vs Anypro writeup was just wrong. Nada played very well, mass expanding while he was ahead, etc. The only reason he lost is because he threw away like 40 supply of units + took lots of damage to finish off the Nexus.

The rest of the write-ups are good though.

It's completely true though, his standard PvT/Z are not runner-up material, as seen by his play vs Nestea and the fact that he knew he could only beat Nada via cheese.

I enjoyed the semi-finals so much more than the finals.
