Hongun opening was very risky jinro waited to long and the risk paid off

imo the correct responce was to go to 4-6 racks asap (instead of teching up) pull a few scvs and do a stim timing push.

Something along those lines might have worked but I don't really think tht's Jinro's natural style. The phoenixes gave Hongun full control of the game and it was an uphill battle for Jinro to continue playing a macro game as he couldn't put any pressure on Hongun at all in the early stages. Jinro has made it publicly known tht he struggles in TvP but wait til next season, TvP will be his best matchup.

Kinda dissappointed with Jinro's response. He lives in a house with some of the best protoss and a ton of talented people, but he has no idea what to do against a phoenix build? I love jinro as much as the next guy, and have been cheering for him the whole way, but am I the only one who thinks this? (flame shield up)

Most people on these boards can't fathom the level that these guys are playing at. Their builds and strategies, for the most part, are not thrown together haphazardly. You can't just say, "he should've made a couple thors" because he has to fit them into his build, or have them as a planned response. If he didn't practice making thors, he better not make them in the tourney on the fly, that's a sure way to lose, and hate yourself for it later.

Also, the reason he doesn't know how to fight phoenixes is because he has the best toss(es) to play against. They know how to use them correctly, and Jinro knows what the phoenix is capable of.

Really depressing how there are no more westerners in Code S, but I am still hoping that HuK can revive the pride by qualifying for Code S next season... That would kill it having two Liquid's to represent for us at Code S. Nice try all.

Dont you think Jinro has practiced a lot against phoenixs, and probably alot against protoss genereally? And yet he cant beat them in a macro games (even though he has much better mechanics than a player like Hongun). The HT nerf will help but late game TvP is still pretty protoss favored.

Phoenix openings are definitely hard to deal with as it nullifies air plays from Terran. It hurts even more when the terran player doesn't know that it's coming and reacts too late when the damage is already done with scv/mule snipes (Forces turrets, slower economy).

Its not an excuse lol, I just dont know what to do vs phoenixes, its not like I didnt try stuff in practice. Phoenix are currently not that popular, because the new maps let you 1gate nexus so damn safely, so most of my prep was focused on playing vs other openings.

Too easy to force field on xelnaga I think. Never been able to get this to work in practice vs good Ps, they always manage to FF stall until they have colossus.

I m worse vs phoenix than other units too tho.

Apparently its saved on huks phone (I forgot my phone yesterday t.t), but honestly I dont even remember what they looked like...

I also only remember about half this interview, but I do remember there being A LOT more spelling errors than this. Hot_Bid did a good job lol

People saying to make a thor, sure vs mass phoenix thats nice. But a fast thor? Dont really know about that, its quite expensive.... Meh, maybe?
