[GSL] LiquidJinro Ro16 Foreigner Special
January 16th, 2011 06:38 GMT
GSL Code S Ro16 Foreigner Special: Liquid`JinroBy Lovedrop
T1 Game 1 - Xel'Naga Caverns T7 + Show Spoiler [Show Recap] +LiquidJinro begins his refinery before his barracks to open up his first game in the RO16, and also getting the 2nd gas before his OC. MarineKingPrime.WE looks familiar as he does not grab the gas for a quick expansion build. A reactor drops on Jinro's barracks and it is soon swapped with the factory. MarineKing's SCV was seconds away from delaying the factory from landing, and Jinro paid too much attention to the SCV, causing him to miss a supply depot. MarineKing adapts to Jinro's apparent aggression and begins to tech, instead of his usual low tier unit composition. The hellions delay MarineKing's expansion for a considerable amount of time, and Jinro is now researching cloak for his banshees. MarineKing has no idea that banshees are coming his way, and the banshees pick up 7 kills before it is forced to retreat. Outside the natural, hellions harass the mineral line, but it pushed away by MarineKing's tanks. Jinro's natural is now up and running, and MarineKing looks solidify his midgame with a timing push. Jinro wastes no time to justify his investment in cloak, as the banshees pick off anything they can, forcing MarineKing to pull back. MarineKing skirts around the edge of Jinro's expansion, but a well-placed tank of Jinro begins raining down shells on the attacking force. Jinro uses his banshees to take out the tanks, while MarineKing has a superior number of marines, they simply melt to tank fire. MarineKing retreats using Tasteless's secret hallway to the left. Beautifully placed siege tank. Jinro advances to set up a soft contain outside MarineKing's natural, using the banshee to gain tank positional advantage. MarineKing loads up three medivacs full of marines and makes his way over to Jinro's natural. With his tanks in good position, Jinro emulates MarineKing's previous attack, hugging the edge of the natural while forcing his way towards MarineKing's mineral line. However, back at Jinro's natural, MarineKing's marines are met with little resistance as they march up into Jinro's production facilities. As Jinro's forces are cleaned up down south, Jinro has no choice but to reluctantly tap out.[16:53] Sitting at the Terran's production facilities. P6 Game 2 - Lost Temple T2 + Show Spoiler [Show Recap] +Both players opt for one base play, grabbing both gases before any units are out. Early aggression scares Jinro to erect a bunker, and it is not in vain, as MC starts churning out phoenix from his stargate. The phoenix tells MC exactly everything going on inside Jinro's base. MC makes a robotic facility while continuing to make phoenix, but Jinro looks to have thrown any plans for aggression, and begins constructing his second CC. The phoenix picks off MULEs, and knowing that he has Jinro contained inside his base, MC expands as well while adding more gates. Phoenix just being themselves. MC looks poised for an assault on Jinro's natural with a mix of sentries/zealots/immortals and his phoenix. Picking up the tanks with graviton beam, MC clears out most of Jinro's natural, but his signature force field to prevent bunker repairing was nowhere to be found. The bunker would not fall and MC is forced to retreat. Jinro drops additional factories and begin the forbidden path of TvP: mech-style. With blue flame and cloaked banshees to back up the main tank force, Jinro is up against two robotics' worth of immortals and colossi. Jinro loads up blue flame hellions and drops it at the natural. The hellions decimate the probe line and at the end of the day, it was 44 probes against 67 SCVs. Jinro's third CC is ready, and Jinro drops MC's ledge with a tank drop. With his air superiority, Jinro floats the CC and takes the island on the bottom right while making a fourth CC. MC cleans up the tank mess at his natural, but in the process, loses his food lead. Jinro sets up at the watchtower, reinforcing his tanks with bunkers and turrets. MC pushes out and moves left to set up a concave, and engages. Jinro's marines were left out to burn as the bunker doors were locked, and while both sides suffer severe damage, MC's immortals live up to their name and survive the onslaught of tank shells. The shields from the immortal finally are drained and MC has no choice but to pull back to avoid any further casualties. Siege tanks everywhere ! Poor marines. MC loads up a colossus in his warp prism and begins harassment at Jinro's natural, but it is promptly shut down by vikings and tanks. MC sneaks in an expansion at the 9 o'clock main, and Jinro confidently takes the gold. The food disparity grows as Jinro is up by 30 food, 142-112. MC pumps out phoenix to harass, but they do little damage as Thors join the mix. As the bunkers creep up to his natural's entrance, MC decides to push out. The immortals are unable to clear the path quick enough and MC GGs.[26:19] P12 Game 3 - Scrap Station T2 + Show Spoiler [Show Recap] +MC grabs the second gas while the SCV was roaming around, but quickly pulls off probes as three addition gateways line up behind his first. Jinro does not scout an expansion, and prepares adequately with bunkers. Jinro has very little units as he decided to go 1/1/1, and a proxy pylon warps in the first wave of units. Cratoss pushes up the ramp with three bunkers, but only one was filled with marines. The stalkers pick off the tank and MC skirts around to the right side to avoid the bunkers. Marines desperately chase after and a beautiful SCV surround leaves MC with little room to micro. Jinro losing a significant amount of SCVs in the exchange, but his economy did not suffer as much since MULEs make up for dead SCVs. Desperately holding off the four gate. Jinro is first to drop his expansion, and the cloaked banshees poke around MC's base, picking up 8 kills in the process before leaving unharmed. Jinro tries to harass with his raven, but MC has stalkers ready for any sort of shenanigans. MC produces phoenix from his two stargates, and picks off the raven with them. The phoenix easily pick off defenseless MULEs, effectively slowing down Jinro's economy. A fleet beacon is on the way for MC, with two carriers soon to follow. Jinro's cloaked banshees scouts out the carriers, and Jinro quickly switches production to anti-air with vikings/marines/thors. MC scouts out Jinro's plans to make a third, but little does Jinro know that MC has already taken the gold. Reaching a critical mass of thors, Jinro pushes out along the narrow passageway. MC barely in the lead for supply, 180-170, and he's currently pylon blocked. The SCVs courageously soak up zealot damage from the front, as marines and thors evaporate the zealots. Three volleys of Thor missiles instantly clear up all but one of MC's phoenix, leaving the carriers extremely vulnerable to Jinro's vikings. The vikings make quick work of the carriers, and MC pulls back off of his stalkers and begin a counterattack to Jinro's main. Jinro pulls back all of his forces to engage, and at his own ramp, pulls out the 250mm strike cannon to immobilize MC's immortals. Jinro cleans up the mess in his main, and sends the vikings over to finish the production facilities of MC, leaving MC's two expansions in tact. The thor heavy army pushes in the gold at the same time the vikings shatter MC's natural. With plenty of strike cannons at his disposal, Jinro disables the immortals from battle and as the last stalker falls, MC taps out and is eliminated at the RO16.[25:20] Jinro redefines anti-air.
TLAF-Liquid`Jinro Post Ro16 Interview Congratulations! How do you feel? This was a very difficult group.Yeah, the more I thought about the group the more scared I got. 3 GSL finalists in one group....... I feel great that I made it through, I only wish I'd made it together with MC. You had to beat your teammate oGsMC twice. What did you say to him after? MC seemed to take the last loss very hard.I don't remember exactly what was said, but yes I felt bad for him, its not a good feeling to get knocked out. He seems ok now tho, we are all just waiting on pizza and chicken to get here for dinner. Were the wins over MC today cathartic for you since you lost to him 0-4 in the GSL3 Semifinals You said in the last interview that this season was about proving last season's run was no fluke. Hm, yeah I'd say the first game vs Minchul was very nice to win for the sake of my mindset. After that I was able to go into the place I should have been at mentally for the first game. After advancing from this group, I felt I had proven sufficiently that last season wasn't a fluke, and at this point its just this tournament without any baggage Have your goals changed? No, always round by round and always end goal of winning. My watch got damaged recently so I promised myself I'd buy a nice one if I made Top 4, but then I realized Top 4 is only half as much prize money as last season so I revised it to Top 2. I guess that's a subgoal as well! By the way, this is not implying I intend to spend $5,000 on a watch In the first game you used banshees to take the lead, but MarineKing did a great drop with his trademark marines. The build I did was the one Drewbie used vs me in TL vs ROOT team match, and is also a 2v2 build that Megumixbear taught to Jos before he and Hayder played the Mouz 2v2 team. Anyway, I realized this build might be extremely nice against the standard MKP builds (1 rax cc with 1 marine for instance, with very late scouting) so I practiced it as sort of a snipe/semi-allin. But he surprised me by playing something very different, so I think build order wise I wasn't in the greatest position which threw me off my game a lot. I usually make scouting depots at the sides fo the map and always control the towers, but I ended up making lots of mistakes because what MKP did wasn't according to the blue-print I had in mind of how he would play. In game 2 against MC you decided to go mech, something you did in recent clan wars. There is some buzz about this strategy as it is a bit different than the traditional Terran builds against Protoss.I don't know yet, we will see once people get used to it. Most of the P thinking has been based on how to beat bio, with the old patch speed void rays being able to beat vikings, and thors having mana it wasn't really very viable to go mech - now, well, we will see. That game, did you feel more pressure because you were one loss away from elimination?I felt the most pressure in Game 1. Games 2 and 3 I was able to play mostly free from pressure, especially the last game I was in the mindstate I should always be in when playing. In Game 3, you scouted MC's 4 warpgates with your hellion and barely defended. What were you thinking during the attack? I was happy that I scouted it. I don't know, I felt like it was about 50/50 between 4 gate and phoenix on this map, a bit more likely 4 gate since he used phoenix already. Even if the hellion doesn't scout the 4 gate, I save a scan to use immediately after if it doesn't get in, but that would have definitely hurt me economically. I think I should have some way of blocking him from running past the bunkers in the future. You decided to make a lot of thors and vikings. At what point did you knwo you were going to win? Were you worried? Because its difficult to safely secure a 3rd without suffering from counters and the like on this map, I decided to 2 base allin (while tkaing risky expos during the push). Another factor is that with so many phoenix, thors basically make them useless. Scouting carriers made me worried, as I wasn't sure how long he'd been making them, but once I saw there were only 4 I basically felt like I should be able to win. Now that you've advanced to the Round of 8, your opponent is EG.IdrA. He stated he'd rather face you than MC. How are your approaching this match? Is it just like any other match, or will there be something extra there? Many fans compare you two as the best foreigners in the GSL. We don't have any personal rivalry, hes always been manner to me and vice versa. I'd rather face myself than MC too, especially if I was Zerg so I don't take it as a slight. "Best foreigner" is something I guess, but I don't really know about that either since there are so many people outside Korea. I think it will just be a good match, I want to win it but then again I want to win every match. Are Korean fans beginning to notice you? We see more Korean cheerfuls and there was a line of kids behind you after today's matches.Oh yeah, ever since the semis I get to sign a loooot of autographs. Its very fun, especially nice getting to surprise people by writing their names in Korean Any cute girls!?Yes. Any last words or people you'd like to thank?TheStc, Sculp, TOP, IMGanzi, NaDa, Hero and YongHwa for helping me practice. Drewbie for beating me with the build I used vs marineking, Megumixbear for suggesting the build to Ret for 2v2, prompting me to look closer at it. And everyone for watching ^^^ Good luck in your next match!

Jinro is pretty good holy shit. Can't wait for a bo5 between idra and da Jinro. Its a rule that all dudes from Sweden own. I played football in highschool with a swede student who was chill as fuck , and two swedes Ive hungout with in college are way cool.
Thanks for the foreigner recaps - I love this feature.
I'm so happy Jinro won... but it is really unforunate that he, MC, and IdrA all played each other SO much this Season.
I know Jinro would have liked to see MC make it to the next round, it's a shame that he didn't.
I would have liked to have seen a Idra vs MC match.
Congrats Jinro!
I don't think i've been so excited. Totally woke my newborn up and everything! Two wins against MC, omg. I had my team liquid shirt on, had my coffee, can't wait to see Jinro and Idra play it off. Which means definitely one of my fav's in the semi's. Could we see a foreigner in the final!!!!!!
i hope jinro jinrolls idra!
Great read. keep it coming!
GO JINRO GO!
Great games, great interview. I think we have a legitimate chance of having the first foreigner champion in this GSL.
What a baller. Now we need to know more about Jinro's fangirls

This is actually going to be the best Quarterfinal in GSL history - next to NaDa vs Boxer and TOP vs Fruitdealer. Mmmm, I can't wait.

Putting the following in spoilers cause it spoils the round of 32 game between Idra and Jinro and I really don't want to upset anyone who has yet to see this game.
+ Show Spoiler +Honestly, I don't want to sound like a whiner, but I really feel that IdrA lost to jinro one already because of the map. Idra was taking out the armies of Jinro very efficiently, but unfortunately all his possible 4th bases were too close to Jinro's army and too easy to cut off. In a more balanced map like Metal or Xel'nage, I feel that IdrA can beat Jinro with better macro and straight up baller unit control (Watching those mutas on JB was a thing of beauty in my opinion).
Don't get me wrong, I love Jinro but I see IdrA as the better player as of now and might have more tricks up his sleeve than people think.
I knew that was drewbie's 2v2 build.
Hope Jinro beats Idra. Idra may be a very skilled player, but not a cool guy, not as cool as Jinro :D
I'm so happy I stayed up to watch those games live! GO JINROLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL HWAITING!!!!!

It should say "is the build DREWBIE USED vs me". EDIT: I rememberd I have "the power" and edited the interview
SICKNESS!! Man i was sooo stoked to know that IdrA made it through, and now that Jinro was able to redeem himself from the last GSL finals is awesome!!
Edit HOLy ballz Jinro posted right above me :D :D
Gooo frozenarbitor!!!! If you win i allow you to temp ban me D:
def need more pictures of the fan girls
does anyone know if there are vods for these team games that were mentioned throughout the interviews?
jinro, you have the power in more ways than just one <33 ^^ ^^
Grats to Jinro and all but I too really wish that MC was there alongside with him.
Fricken amazing Jinro! Holy crap those games vs MC were so amazing to watch and mech made it even more amazing. When you won I fist pumped and banged my hand on my desk LOL but still worth it! GL against Idra, i'm rooting for you even though I play Zerg
is IMGanzi the Woojin Ganzi?

;D So awesome. Keep it up, dude! YOU'RE ALMOST THERE.
Congratulations Jinro. Well deserved, but damn..I feel so bad for MC. The look on his face after the game..I just felt horrible because both players deserved so badly to advance.
How do you feel playing Idra again? Especially since in his interview somewhere on here, he said he'd like to play you again.
Good luck Jinro!
Jinro your the shit bro, its so worth it to stay up and watch ur games at 5 in the morning. I may be draggin ass at work, but its all cool as long as u win.
jinro turns my frown, upside down.
The force is strong in this one.
Idra again hmmmm I really don't get the GSL system. It should not be possible to meet former groupmates in the round-of.8. On the upside there's one follower in the semis guaranteed.
Jinro you total bad ass! Lets atleast get a name of the girl(s) now!
To think that I sat next to his beast of a man at MLG Dallas and had no idea of his potential. You gave us one hell of a show then and you are still going strong. Keep it up Jinro! You are gonna wreck shop man we all know it. Sad to see MC knocked out, a lot of people really respected his play and confidence myself included. It will be well worth it though when you are on top at the end! Do it for TL and oGs and for your great fans everywhere, and most importantly for yourself.
I think it actually would've been awesome if he bought a super ridiculously bad-ass watch for 5k and be like completely contrary to all the Koreans.
"So you'll save all your money for your family and..." "Nah just bought this son-of-a-bitch watch, amazing isn't it!?!"
Any cute girls!?
Yes.
Oh man cute girls and practice with Nada. The only thing that could top that would be a championship. Go Jinro!!
but then I realized Top 4 is only half as much prize money as last season so I revised it to Top 2.
What? Did i miss somehow the prizepool getting cut in half? Or just the ro4 money. Can someone provide some clarification over the current prize pools?
Btw i'm proud of you Jinro, good luck
It's a little arguable whether Jinro is the best foreigner.
Once he wins the GSL in two weeks, it will be much less arguable.
GW Jino can wait to see epic series vs Idra
Wow, it's really hard for me to decide who I want to root for, Idra or Jinro, they're both awesome in their own ways, and I don't want to see either of them lose
I wonder if jinros GSL Ro4 will achieve the same status as ElkY's OSL Ro4 some time.
Jinro the world is lookin up to your superior skill !!
now take this whole "damn" (i put in some curse words so you feel familiar xD) thing ! :D
gg's gl hf !!

Keep on rolling, Jinro! Great interview, and the recaps were actually a perfect example of an unbiased run-through.
Delicious.

great writeup, keep em coming!

Certainly the time of Jinro, keep up the great work man.

Jinro is the king of the world! Im proud to be swedish atm! Hope he wins a very close and long series against IdrA )

What is this build btw? I'd be interested in messing around with it in 2v2!

holy cow i might as well buy a gomtv ticket for next season !

The prize pools are lower, first prize is half (I believe) of what is was during the opens, but there are going to be a lot more competitions now so there's more oppourtunity for the players to win and more exposure for sponsors.
Aaaw, always enjoy these interviews so much! Jinro is amazing. The best of luck against idra!
Hehe... I'm still most impressed by jinro that he's able to thank nada for helping him practice. I'm just that much of a fanboy i guess
I indeed thought GSL3 success was sort of fluke, some relatively easy opponents there to get that far.
Now I have to take full turnaround since getting through from this group was amazing. It wasn't just the 2 wins vs MC, but it seemed like he'd win MK too. Amazing to think that there necessarily ain't anyone who's huge favorite over him atm. Jinro hwaitiN!
I want to see some netizens of koreans about Jinro and Idra! Would be awesome to read, especially after Jinro's performance yesterday!

even minchul couldn't take...
the jonathan walsh experience

Don't worry too much of fan girls. They will be cute, but all the ones you drool over from music/movies have tons of cosmetic surgery.
Jinro all the way!
Thanks for the interview, keep it up, go Jinro!
What about five 45 minute+ macrogames then ends in a stalemate in the fith game?... cant wait for this!
btw... GO JINRO GO!
Congrats as always Jinro ^_^
So cool to sort of see Jinro go back to his roots of meching :p Too bad I missed this, I might have to get season 4 pass just to watch those vods.
About the battle report, Jinro said himself (in LR thread) that in game 1 against MKP he didn't miss a depot, but simply couldn't afford it at this timing, which his build was accounting for.
Congrats Jinro, we're all rooting for you man. Mad props for the matches vs MC!
with MC out im rooting for Jinro all the way, go u manly man u!!
Gogogo Jinro! :D / proud swede

Oh wow, shout out to Drewbie! Sick shit.

this jinro guy is swedish?? wow!! I am a big fan now although being some ABBA generation lol ^ ^
Wouldn't "Kratos Protoss" be shot formed to Kratoss and not Cratoss btw?
HELL YA JINRO!!! So awesome, congrats! Looks like Day9 was right in the 12/15 SoTG when he said Jinro was awesome and better than MC, and all the guys laughed at him. But whos laughing now!?

While i am more of a fan of IdrA, I hope its a seriously close and long fought series, so long as that happens im happy whoever wins.

what you people argue here about who will win between Jinro and IdrA is crucial as this: The one who wins that game is the one with the "responsibility" of beating MarineKing, why? simply because without MC it's hard that anyone beats that guy. Even MC told in an interview once that he actually didn't liked to play against MK and i think the capabilities of that gamer are almost unlimited -he redefined the style of playing terran in his GSL 2 run and keeps evolving more and more-. I think IMMvP is good too, but i think MK is superior. I just hope whoever wins between Jinro and IdrA has his mindset ready to beat the beast that MK is (nothing against him, just wanna see a non korean take the first spot). So well, good luck to BOTH and let the best be the winner!!! Jinro and IdrA hwaiiting!!!!

Jinro will get every girl with watches worth of 5k

This prompted me to go back and rewatch the games. Such awesome series, good luck with Idra and thanks for the write up.

gorilla terran u sexy beasttt gogogogogo

most exciting night of gsl ever; i almost had multiple heart attacks during jinro's games
jinro hwaiting! you can definitely go all the way!
Man, Jinro's games are always so entertaining, he's amazing!
And the language learning nerd strikes back!
Wow I feel bad for underestimating Jinro for so long. Then he went to Dallas, effed everyone over, then GSL3 and effed ALMOST everyone over, and then he comes back and effs everyone over again, including the player that ended his effing spree in GSL3... way to go Jinro! As iNcontroL said, no one deserves this as much as Jinro does.

Jinro and IdrA hwaiiting!!!!
marineking himself says that MVP is miles ahead of every other terran. But we'll see... Tournament results shall tell us since it's bo5 now

I haven't been following SC2 that closely recently, but I'm so happy I got to see those games. So inspiring.Jinro's too good

What do the colored numbers next to their names mean? I've never understood this.

T1 red colored = terran 1 oclock spawning position red color Z2 blue colored = zerg 2 oclock spawning position blue color

Awesome interview and good luck to Jinro in the ro8! I still loved Artosis asking him if he was a perfect human being after the matches.
Anyone know which match vs Drewbie in which league Jinro is referring to?
Hoping for Jinro to take it all home. would be epic if someone from a minor country like us could win the biggest tourney in sc2!
It's really too bad Idra and Jinro have to face off this early, but man, will it be a great fight. I hold Jinro as a favourite, but then again I'm probably biased.
YES JINRO FIGHTING! Can't wait for your match with Idra, should be epic!
jinro vs idra part 2 is gonna be awesome but at the same time a bit disappointing. They played each other in the RO32, they really shouldnt have to play each other again until the semis or the grand final imo. Hope GOM makes a better bracket system next season,
While I am a fan of IdrA, Jinro seems more balanced against all his matchups than IdrA. IdrA repeatedly states that he cannot win ZvPs right now. I'll be happy with either moving on, but I'm pushing for Jinro a little more.
Jinro so nice and well-mannered! Shame that he and MC couldn't advance together, but I hope Jinro does well...perhaps he will even win it all! :D
Jinro take it all! Make sweden proud!

Dude your a clown. You make it out as jinro and idra are the top dogs?
You have Nestea, Marineking, Nada and MVP still in the tournament.
Jinro played two great games. He realised that fast expanding against MC = Dead. Basically he has laid the blueprint on how to beat MC.

Seeing their play certainly makes you think that.
And he is not the one acting like a tard here

It would be much more fun to see how they fare against these legends in a series.

Jinro I only wish I'd made it together with MC. Me: "Why the favoritism?" Me: "Jinro must really like MC."
... then I remembered that they are on the 'same team'

You decided to make a lot of thors and vikings
He could have answered that one with his famous line as well "Deal with it, I'm Swedish"
I'm soo rooting for Jinro!! But I feel that unless we're talking LT or JB or maybe Steps, IdrA should win.. He knows that Jinro would never rush him so he's just gonna go ahead and 14hatch lika a fcking hero and get an early macro lead. Aaand roll his face over the spawn muta/baneling buttons =/ BUT! Let's hope for a miracle
Bra spelat Jinro, keep it up in the next game! Heja Sverige!
DisaFear : Apparently, from what Artosis and everyone who have actually meet IdrA says, he is a cool guy. I don't know why everyone takes his nerdrage so seriously, he just says what he thinks. I feel like now it is like ''cool'' to talkshit on IdrA's ''bad manners''.

Dude, you're the clown. First of all, he didn't say anything about Idra or Jinro being top dogs, that's just you hating so badly that you're seeing shit that doesn't exist
Secondly, saying "basically he has laid the blueprint on how to beat MC" - a bunch of bullshit. First off Nada beat MC 4-0 in the new year's tournament and he did it with the same technique 4 times. THAT is a blueprint on how to beat MC, who tried a different build order every game in response to it, but nothing worked.
And lastly, "he realized that fast expanding against MC = Dead." <-- Blanket statements like this not only are blatantly wrong, but obscure the fact that correct decision making and proper scouting form the backbone of a strong macro game

This was a great series, and a great group. I cheered for Jinro during victory. Did anyone else notice HuK walk up with his hoodie and enter Min-Chul's booth to console him after the defeat, and then walk away on camera? He walked right past tasteless and artosis but they did not notice. Usually they notice anyone even remotely near their casting booth.
Maybe they noticed and just didn't say anything
Hm... this is really bad for Jinro... If he's getting too good, he's going to attract more and more cute girls, who are going to distract him!!!
I do think it's a shame the way the brackets are set up. The ro32 bracket players shouldn't be able to run into eachother at ro8, they should have just split it up imo so that idra and jinro couldn't meet again. Anyway it's great to have a foreigner in ro4 for sure, personally i'd prefer idra to make it as i give him a higher chance of going all the way but either way it's fun. I do think the other side of the bracket has way better players though with nestea, trickster and mvp.

Yeah, in football cups and basically in most other sport competitions teams that met each other in the group stage can not meet each other again until the finals.

Right Nada got his ass whop when it counted you "clown". You forgetting who beat Nada last?? Who care if Nada beat MC 4-0 in another tournament. As if MC really cares to play his best in any tournament except GSL.
MC timing attack ate Jinro for breakfast in GSL 3 and he learnt his lesson (don't FE).

I was most impressed by the use of 250mm Strike Cannons. They completely nullified MC's Immortals. Immortals being burned to death one by one was quite a scene to watch.
As a toss QQ, what could possibly counter that? Critical mass of thors + vikings seem like almost unbeatable combination except the obvious mobility issue with thors. I assume critical mass of carriers might do it but they are much harder to get.
Also, does 250mm cannon work against Ultralisks too?
Great games, Jinro. So proud of you. I rarely enjoy watching TvP but those games were a real treat.

JINRO!
Man, watching his play always makes me want to switch to Terran. The way that he always seems on top of what his opponent is doing while always going for an economical hammer in the end, he deserves to be known as the Gorilla Terran.
cool recap, thanks! good luck in next round for Jinro!
Really really happy for Jinro!! Amazing games, it's always such a pleasure to watch Jinro and MC play.
I'm just incredibly upset that because of the bracket setup the one trick pony MarineKing gets to move on and the best protoss in the tournament MC does not ...
I've never been more exited than when I was watching these games. Jinro, youre awesome. Inspirational to watch. Jinro for GSL4 win!
Such a great style of play, far and away the most fun terran to watch and one that makes me want to play the race I dislike the most.
Jinro's games against MC had me cheering to a pc screen and doing a little happy dance in an empty room. What absolutely stellar play. Mr Jinro, you are the man. Well played, sir, well played.
I like his comment about being thrown when MK didn't do what he expected. I'm sure most of us have been there before. It can really throw your game a bit.
Best games so far in GSL4. Jinro was amazing. And yeah /Hushfield/ im doing a little happy dance in an empty room- too. Wish Jinro best in this GSL - The New GSL Champion !!!
JINRO WHAITING, hope he or idrA wins, but jinro's group is tough, hope he makes it out of it
As Jinro walked into MC's booth for a few words, I was genuinely moved.
1st Foreignerer that is going to win GSL!!!oh yheas!
Such a great guy, good luck Jinro!
Jinro hwaiting!!!1 <3 (first post, yay! been stalking this place too long :D)
