Liquipedia Weekly #6

The GSL is taking the hearts of esports enthusiasts by storm. The schedule's nice and tight, the players a healthy mix of upcoming talents and old veterans, and the tension is rising dramatically as we approach the Ro8. Rumours are flying about who of the old heroes is going to transfer next. The wiki team and of course our valiant contributors do their best to let some awesomeness transfer over.

Results, Standings, Battlereports

Okay, so you're in the middle of some insane trivia competition and you need to know what happened in Week 2 Day 2 of the GSL. Well, Liquipedia has you covered. From the main information hub on the GSL, it's a short way to the detailed writeups about (Wiki)Season 1. This page gives you the gist of information, the price pool and splitting between the players, the racial distribution at the start (27 P, 21 T, 16 Z, now slightly altered).

You want "Main Tournament" for the results you desperately want!

The (Wiki)Results Page is where the most energy gets poured into. It holds the brackets for the four tournament legs, detailed Match results, and even battle reports for a large number of games. For maintenance, we want to thank our user (Wiki)TheBB for his massive contributions to this section.

Below the brackets lie the recaps

If you continue to scroll down from the brackets, you will run into the recaps for the tournament. All the detailed results are here - like who won on what map, and what happened in each game. Further if you want to read up on the player biographies, you can always click the internal link to check up on the history behind that player.

Information tends to be scarce about the (Wiki)top Korean teams, but at least the main ones, such as (Wiki)Prime, (Wiki)oGs, and (Wiki)The SCV Life have found their way in. What is even more nifty is that we are tracking their overall performance in the GSL. So on each of the major team pages, you will find a table that tells you how far the members of the team went into the GSL. The scary figures: Of the 12 remaining players, 4 are from Prime, 3 from oGs and 3 from TSL, with a lonely Nex member here and a lonely (Wiki)Startale (Wiki)member there. No matter your trivia or factual needs, Liquipedia has you covered.

Copy that build!

Did you ever marvel at a match in the GSL and think: "How did he do that?". Happens to us too, so we try to copy them and add them to our repertoire. One of the builds that have found their way into the wiki is the http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Polt_timing_attack_(vs._Protoss) , one of the builds PoltPrime dismantled the strongly favored Protoss JangMinChul (aka (P)IrOn) with. Our GSL recap names it a "very smart and well executed strategy by Polt" and awards 4 stars to the game.

Hansin's pressure build against Anypro has also been added. Hansin was eventually eliminated in the series, but this was the build that "caught Anypro totally off guard and led to a quick win for Hansin" in game one (Source). You can find it here: (Wiki)5 Marine 1 Reaper Rush.

You might be wondering, why these are two Terran builds. That's because Terran players seem to care for each other and provide each other with the most up-to-date strategical knowledge. But in all honesty: We are only waiting for you to step up and add the ultimate builds for your favorite, eternally underpowered race.

And a final note for ourselves: For their good work, we promoted (Wiki)Kokkan, (Wiki)Dezzimal, and (Wiki)Riw to editor status. Our (Wiki)user Fiel did so much good work that he was automatically promoted by the wiki engine, to editor status as well. Congratulations guys! That's all from this update, remember if you get stuck on the wiki you are more than welcome to ask any of the staff members for assistance. We're always happy to help!

Nice article. Not to derail the thread, but my dream final would be Cool vs Tester

Everyone talks "tester" and what not, but did anyone noticed how amazing this HungUnPrime guy plays? I mean, almost everytime he gets raped in the first game, but then he gets used to the opponent and just walks over them. His games are full of perfect timings, creativity and amazing use of Forcefields, so... is it just me?
