However, Yarnc also wasn't doing great in prelims and may have started slumping. Zero will also make more ace appearances. The best choice is to probably to pick yarnc and then try and trade him for Zero. | ||

I just compiled a google spreadsheet using ELO as a method for comparing price/efficiency for the top 75 players. It's not perfect but I found it interesting and usable. Basically I subtracted 2000 from their ELO and divided the points by this number, then multiplied it by 100 to achieve percent for easier readability. So, the lower the number, the better the price. The obvious things, that have already been noted are that Iris /Jangbi are absurdly good picks, while Justin is unbelievably bad (his efficiency is 23.53%, the next worst is Lomo at 13.16%) It's kind of basic right now (just has ELO/Points/Efficiency/Team) but as the season progresses I may add things like lineup %, vZ/vT/vP efficiency, or do some kind of consideration with teams. As far as efficiency, Bisu is 16th, Flash 28th and Jaedong 33rd. There are obviously far more concerns than just the efficiency, but I feel that it's very useful, especially for determining anti-team. I couldn't figure out a good way to handle people below 2000. Currently sorted from most -> Least efficient, the top 80 players. I have the data for the next 40 or so ranked players, however the formula has all of them as negative values. But it is true that if you pick a player with <2000 elo, it should only be for team points as they have worse than 50/50 odds against a total newcomer. Good picks for team (best to worst) Iris - 1 point GOM finalist who crushed bisu in a bo5. If he has retained even a small portion of the condition he was in it it will be worth it, and there is only 1 point at stake. The real cost is the player slot. (if at the end of the season Daezang was a better buy, you'll feel bad). Jangbi Yarnc Movie - Movie is especially valuable as CJ has almost no other protosses now that much has left. It depends on if the race rule is changed, though. July Lucifer - This one was a surprise, but his competition on Fox will be slim (Pure..) and he did well in the OSL prelims, only losing 2-1 to Ruby, who had been performing very well before going to Ace. Speaking of Ruby.... he is also a very good pick. As shown from his OSL qualification after basic training, his skills are still there, and he will likely have a guaranteed spot in the ACE lineup. Good picks for anti-team: (from best pick to worst) Justin - #79 - lol. Justin might see more play now that go.go fled the ship, but until playoffs I wouldn't worry about him being a constant presence. Hite just has a much more solid lineup with Yarnc, Type-B, Leta, Horang2. The only time he may show up is if the entire rest of the team is playing in the ro4 again. Anytime- #80 - An ACE player who costs 3 points. The only risk is that he may show in ace matches, which would never happen with most of the others on this list, and in addition is almost a certainty for lineup appearance. Lomo - # 75 - He beat BeSt, and is overall mediocre. Roro - # 73 - Another potential ace match player, however his lackluster vP hurts him somewhat, as does the potential for Ameba to steal his role as Fox's Zerg. Guemchi- # 66 - No risk of Ace matches, but his Elo seems depressed somewhat and you may get hurt badly. Backho - # 63 - Neither backho or Guemchi are bad players, they're just somewhat overvalued - picking Backho for anti-team is risky, but not necessarily bad. Risky for either : Violet - at #55, he isn't the best choice. However, as his elo comes exclusively from PL and is still tainted from when he was playing really poorly, he might be good pick. The new map pool makes most protosses slightly suspect. Leta - at #59, a very similar situation to Violet. The question is how well he has recovered from his absolutely crushing dissection by CJ in playoffs. The idea is not so much to give guidance on main teams, as to give guidance on anti-teams - Yarnc is a terrible antiteam pick, if only for team points and because there are much safer players in the same price range - for same price you can get someone like Soo or Anytime. Though I don't really see why you would have to remake your team, because if you formed your Anti Team based on the statement of "wins will lose you points," its essentially the same goal: picking Anti Team players who won't get wins. Obviously, if they don't play, they can't win. Appearance points don't change anything really, since you want to avoid appearances under either statement. | ||
