"Making the first public mafia lynch will inspire hope in everyone while striking fear into the mafia was the reasoning behind this", stated the Governor. "We need to send out a clear message that organized crime will not be tolerated in the town of Liquidia or anywhere in this state." And Chuiu, the mayor, was their first target, for days he was on trial for his actions and now everyone was excited to see him finally pay the price. With the gallows setup Chuiu took his last sip of coffee, what was left of his final meal, and came out of his cell. Pleading for someone to review the evidence he claimed his innocence as he was pushed further on. Many in the crowd were excessively enthusiastic about the lynching and many were grave and quiet. The noose now tight around his neck Chuiu took a look over at the man ready to pull the switch. "Embrace the release that death brings you", he stated as he pulled the switch. The former mayor flung downward violently and lunged back and forth trying to escape. After only a moment he became very calm and his body started changing color. Chuiu was innocent after all. A few people didn't know what was going on but a riot broke out quickly. Vengeance was the theme and they felt nothing but ill regard for many of Chuiu's accusers. The Governor and Sheriff were quickly captured by the violent crowd and brought back to the gallows. Being the two who brought up charges on Chuiu they were the two to be lynched by the raving mob. First up was the Governor. Loud cheers came from the crowd as his body turned red. Next up was the Sheriff who undoubtedly falsified the documents behind his case. Everyone cheered at his demise also. Then one person stood atop the gallows embracing the moment he cried out to the town "We can trust no mayor, no governor, no authority this day or the next. We must unite to take care of the problem ourselves. Mafia if you hear me then tremble because we are united in our cause and will strike with cruel precision to drive you from our town." And with that the crowd cheered and their first day of mafia hunting began. [noCluesArea] Time to lynch someone! There will be no mayors or pardoners or any elected position this game so please remember your vote counts to lynch and only lynch. Vote in this thread and please try to think things through before voting so you don't have to change it several times. Note to everyone: Day will last 24-72 hours depending on how voting is going. If it seems obvious who is going to die then I may end days quickly but if the town seems split then I will provide more time to let votes diversify a bit more. Special Note to everyone with a special night role (that means Mafia and assorted Blues): I want nights to last 24 hours only so please try to give me your role actions quickly if not ahead of time before night starts. | ||

"I am representing myself and mafia #2. Our target is townie." So that way, inactivity and lack of organization hurt mafia as well as town. Don't forget that clues might not be so obvious. For example, if the mafia were infinity21 (not participating in this game), a post referencing Hilbert's Grand Hotel could point to him (deals with a counterintuitive paradox involving countably and uncountably infinite sets). EDIT: But also watch out for red herrings. Lots of things in Chuiu's post might not even be clues at all, and clues are notorious for being misinterpreted. But still, they're one of the only things we have going for us at this point without a mayor/DT network. | ||

Actually, anywhere above the "no clues area" line on the day post DO contain clues. Chuiu has to get the town started on discussion so he posts clues in the first day post. | ||

Can Chuiu's last meal be relevant? I like Empyrean's reasoning here, clues might not be so obvious, but it could be worth something. I also can't help but feel that Vengeance was the theme is pertaining to something. | ||

That way, when they release some "convincing" clues, it could just be the mafia giving out false information. Actually, the mafia could rally the town to lynch another mafia member the first day, thus building trust in the first mafia member. Their kill count won't decrease, anyway. Just seem soo soo similar =/ either a) Empy has a special role (vigil perhaps?) and has found his way into the clues b) Empy is mafia trying to persuade the town c) This could be way way too obvious Decaf also seems like a prime candidate - almost given to us on a plate as was queasy last game. Perhaps it's better to keep his lynch for later when we have no idea what do to as killing him down doesn't hurt the mafia at all. | ||

Why would you rather take risks than kill a mafia when you can? Suppose we go by that strategy and lynch a townie today, and then find another mafia tomorrow. Had we killed the first sure mafia today, we could lynch the second mafia tomorrow and reduce killing power without using up any power roles. Plus, as time passes and more information is revealed, it gets less and less likely that we don't know what to do. Not saying decaf is that sure mafia at this point, obviously. | ||
