So I'm interested in hearing from the Mafia what things they thought were unfair and what the hell happened with the irc incident

thats an INCREDIBLY LONG story that would take forever. I forgot a lot of what happened and it would take multiple people to do it justice.

Quick breakdown from my P.O.V.

The beginning was myself and Ghar talking a lot of strategy. This was why I was defending Ghar so much early in the game.

Caller and Lenwe were a major help with figuring things out. Once we realized we could trust Empyrean him and the other detectives were great.

Showtime! was cool, I purposely didn't even say much to stop him from being bad because everyone on the inside knew Showtime! would live, and we all were sure he was innocent. HE wasn't too bad at clue breakdowns either.

Plexa came to me after I was silent for a few days. Then Camlito came around. When we all died and Hotzhot became a prime suspect I thought about that mirror stuff and called it on hotzhot. If you look at the "z" as the axis and think of a 2-sided mirror you realize what hotzhot looks like

I left out a ton but I'll eventually remember more.

umm nothing was insanely unfair, i think there should maybe be a few more special role mafia could balance it a bit. I'm not role savvy so I have no recommendations.

The adding players in for inactives at the end was kind of lame, mostly just because you assume (be it right or wrong) that mafia inactives aren't a huge deal and town ones are, so the ones being replaced are assumed regular green townies. At that point I was pretty sure the game was over anyway so it wasn't a huge deal.

Nah I got more in me. I just want to finish up my current class before I start a new game. Expect the new mafia game to start in September and remember that signups start fresh new game, I won't take any pre-signups like this game.

Whoa, yay, we can raise from our graves, and make this thread go OVER NINE THOUSAND!!!!

Yes, I'm also interested in hearing a detailed explanation as to why Mafia thinks the Town was overpowered. From my perspective, it was a simple combination of good planning (Ace & co.) and great dedication (Plexa & co.) that ensured Town victory even with that IRCgate incident, and later the rolesgate incident.

GJ to all who participated, I wonder how the next round will go

Oh cool. From what I know about the latter part of the game after you guys all died, Alethios, Scorch myself, and Wysp formed a committee designed to hunt out remaining mafiosos. We didn't really find any new mafiosos persay, but we did manage to get most of the remaining people you guys had suspicions about lynched.

Finally the game is over! Sorry I found so many red herrings and got jtan lynched. T___T Once Day 21 came up, I looked at the clues and knew I'd messed up and infunidibulum was actually Mr. Blue.

I really want to hear the stories from both sides, though, no matter how long they are!

I think L or bockit had a write-up started a while ago when they were alive, they should post it soon (maybe) But it should explain the IRC stuff along with most of our objections to the game.

One of my personal gripes was that chuiu would not let me use my sabotage ability whenever I wanted. I was required to use it on someone the day before. Meaning, I could not use it to kill vets without giving it away to the town that we were going to kill him. Even if I only wanted to sabotage a nighttime ability I was required to submit it the night before to stop their day and nighttime abilities.

gg guys, i had a blast

Perhaps one of the other mafiosos will make a post about imbaness or whatever - but i am not of that variety. Honestly, i thought we played it pretty well, but made the mistake of stacking too many hits - for example on the detectives etc., we were paranoid and didn't know if you guys were aware of our knowledge of dinmsab etc being DTs. so all those wasted hits really added up late game and came back to bite us in the ass.

There are 2 glaring mistakes i made that i can recall. The first was voting for showtime (i don't even know why, i might have been drunk), which forever cast me on the radar. This was unfortunate since i was pretty sure nobody suspected me beforehand. It also meant qrs and nemy were relatively protected. The second was pinning fanatacist, rather than Energies, as the vigilante Ordell. It took bwdero and myself a long while of analyzing, and utimately it came down to fanatacist was Ordell because Ordell was always running and very enthusiastic - in hindsight, characteristics that fit Energies very well. If we had gotten the vigi right, we would have been able to kill plexa and ace in one night rather than 2. Oh well!

Also, there's a good story about the IRC infiltration - i forget who has it, but hopefully he posts it

I thought it was hilarious how hard you pushed for me to be Mr. Blonde and jtan to be lynched, especially after I had advocating lynching jtan before i died in a futile effort to save my skin

I'd say the game was well balanced. Both sides played it very well. Mafia successfully managed to infiltrate the inner circle (as far as I can tell as a simple townie) and proceeded to kill all power roles early. The town did some great clue analyzing (Plexa, MTF and multiple others) and rooted out a mafia almost every day. The game was quite close at some points, since the town couldn't afford many mislynches and inactivity almost allowed the mafia to sway the votes.

Things I would change next time:
- Do things on a far smaller scale. A game with 130 people is destined to take ages and make bored people go inactive.
- Do not replace inactive people in order to prevent the confusion we had. Just ban them from the next game.
- Set a fixed schedule for days and nights to speed up the game, say 48 hours. Should the mafia not send in their hit list before the deadline, select targets at random.

GOOD GAME!
