You did well, but also, it isn't hard to lurk and mafia when there is also a 50% inactive townie rate.

Regardless though, the mafia did well, and the town just did ATROCIOUS. The next game will be far more entertaining and I can't wait.

Obviously, the main issue that needs to be dealt with is inactivity. When the mafia can hit 6 people a night and 50% of the townies are inactive, you pretty much lose already.
Notes and feelings, numbers and reason. The ultimate equilibrium.

Something that may help:

Each mafia member may only submit one name to Chuiu. That way, inactive mafia members (of which there were) would also be punished.

You guys are all completely overreacting to the inactivity problem. The thread was about 50 pages in a matter of days. Someone could have come back to the game a little late and gave up on catching up the thread quickly. The fact of the matter is, shitty lynch decisions were made. You guys weren't able to tell when the mafia's were leading the lynch wagons that were often based on mass BS or make effective use of the mayor slot, pardoner slot, or paramedics. Also, the shorter the day/night cycles, the shorter, less epic, and less well-made the clue batches will be. Some people can only check on the thread every couple days, also. A 3 day limit would be most reasonable if you want things to go by so fast.

Inactivity *is* a very serious problem. You had, what, *70 people*? Even at half that number you would have had an extremely large volume of posts. Someone coming to the game late and *giving up* is a definition of inactive towny and yet another reason why large games are a pain. In general, inactive town is far more harmful to town than inactive scum is harmful to scum *if* both sides are inactive in roughly equal measure.

I will (and have) conceded that power roles were not utilized effectively and town was not directing it's investigations terribly well, self included (except vigilantes, who were heroes). A game of this size, however, is almost certain to create problems based on inactivity one way or the other.

And, frankly, if the game is balanced with that in mind, then it turns the other way, which is that town is the imbalanced side if everyone plays. Neither of these are good options.

I agree with the time things. Three days seems quite reasonable to me, and regular updates are awesomeness.

I did actually like some things about this game, at least in retrospect. The election at the start of the game is an interesting and novel mechanic to me, which I may steal for other games. I feel it will become doubly interesting once a 'metagame' has been established (that is, people have a feel for how other people play the game, as well as previous games to base the election on). The mods are to be praised for introducing this game, because mafia is quite frankly awesomesauce.

37 of 64 people voted on Day 2

As you can see, almost half of the townies were AFK throughout this game. They served only as cannon fodder. As for the mafia, only about 10 were active. However this didnt effect us at all.

It would be better if AFKs didnt screw up the game. For example Yogurt, a player with a HUGE role, never posted once. I think the mafia should individually PM their targets to chuiu, if there are inactive mafia, then a townie should be recruited (with a notice in the day post noting that the mafia recruited fresh blood) and the inactive mafia kicked from the game. If a Blue goes inactive, his role should be passed on (once again, a note in the day post) to another townie. The inactive blue can then be switched back into a townie to server as cannon fodder and suspicion sponge.

If 15 mafia go for different people, the mafia get 0 kills.
If 2 or more mafia go for a person, they get the kill (unless protected)

Mafia have the ability to communicate very easily so coordinating your efforts really isnt hard.

I totally agree with Fen and Tracil and L2W and a lot of others who think that inactivity is causing problems.
The solution that Fen offered on the Mafia side sounds fair enough and should be considered.

Posting view is imo a valid strat for a detective. As long as you always use your special ability as detective and paramedic. (I think a medic stated that he did not protect one night, which is behaviour with no advantage and a disadvantage).
pardoners role should only be used if significant changes to the situation happened since the majority of people's votes happend.

@Chuiu you should add a sign-in(and kick not responding players) or demand that players respond to their role PM(and replace non responding players)

I just reread the clue paragraph, and one of our vigilantes (EmeraldSparks) i believe didn't kill anyone? or if he did he didn't have any clues pointed to him =(.

He targeted only one person if I recall correctly, but since the mafia was targeting the same person that night his hit was nullified.

He might have tried to kill somebody while the mafia put a hit on the victim first thus nullifying his hit, is this possible? Would be best if he spoke up himself
