For those that aren't aware he's referencing the hero dazzle, who has an ability called shadow wave. Dazzle also has an ability called shadow grave, which prevents people from dying. So to anybody who's vaguely familiar with dota, he's basically coming out immediately and claiming some form of doctor.
I don't think the doc should come in and announce themselves right away. This looks hella scummy to me.

So a big problem is how familiar he is with dota. I think it would be stupid to claim doctor right away as I said, but assuming he's town why fake claim? He would have to know enough about dota to know wave of shadow is a dazzle spell, and that dazzle also has the shallow grave spell, which would lead someone to draw the conclusion that he is the doctor.

Anyway, I have some clarifications from the hosts regarding mechanics. This game gonna be complicated. For starters, I cannot move of my own volition. I'm going out on a limb here and thinking most people are like that. So we're going to have to coordinate things like force staffs. For the record, I don't have one, or any other item.

I'm cool with KPing into a small pool though of people are that terrified. Having balanced a game like this before I'm REALLY not that concerned about the strength and consequences of redirecting and whatnot. In fact, there is often a fair amount of info to be gained from it.
Most important thing would be not to reveal numbers (ie your hp or how much damage you do) and only reveal how much damage was taken at phase change.

It looks like Radient vs Dire doesn't translate to Town vs Mafia. I'd also bet that there are more than one non-town faction, mostly kus it makes the game more interesting to have a couple of small scum factions than one 5-6 person mafia team vs however many town.
Unfortunately I only have my experience from PyP to draw from, and while I'd bet that there are some broad similarities I don't want to taint my expectations too much by relating to that game. Getting everyone to contribute KP and organize to some degree holds people accountable and at phase change we'll be able to learn some things.

It looks like Radient vs Dire doesn't translate to Town vs Mafia. I'd also bet that there are more than one non-town faction, mostly kus it makes the game more interesting to have a couple of small scum factions than one 5-6 person mafia team vs however many town.
Unfortunately I only have my experience from PyP to draw from, and while I'd bet that there are some broad similarities I don't want to taint my expectations too much by relating to that game. Having said that I think the general strategy of trying to stay organized and working together to determine what everyone is doing is pretty solid. What's going to be weird is that I'm not sure if mafia get standard kills as night (they probably do though) or if all deaths but the day lynch happen due to HP hitting 0.
So with all that in mind I'm going to downplay my usual strat of finding town first and then mafia from PoE and try something a little different. If I'm correct that there are multiple scum factions then mafia are harder to find due to them having their own scum hunting to do and so standard scum hunting gets a bit less reliable.

If I remember correctly, I served on a scumteam with him once, and he made posts like that throughout.
I don't see how you can prove or show in any way that it's truly genuine, and there is absolutely nothing to say that it came from either alignment.

It's been established that most roles have a way to deal damage through their actions. I haven't known this for a long while, because I didn't read my role PM for a longer while.

The important part is damage claiming, and I will say right now, if you hide how much damage you take at the end of the phase, you get lynched because there is ZERO reason for town to hide that info.
(Note i say 'how much damage you took,' not how much HP you have left. Vital difference in useful info for scum/town)
It would be very nice if we could eliminate some of the unknowns/chaff with this though.

An early waffle post about Koshi, seems to think he's town but then likes him less as the day goes on apparently? I dunno, doesn't do a whole lot here but Koshi always seems to be on his mind to no real effect.

He's also a pretty vindictive guy in general when we play games together (we also DnD), and while I suppose it's not alignment indicative overall for him to retaliate against me, in his case specifically I believe he believes it's the right thing to do.
He's also a highly strategic person and I don't believe as scum he would think the best use of his limited role KP would be to hit me as I don't feel like I'm a threat to anyone at the moment.

Koshi it's pretty simple. When you can make another person die during the day by towns own hand without any town knowledge of it happening, that's a rather large benefit for scum.

I like WoS the most. The only argument I can really see is that he jumped all over SL's ass for thinking that coordinating attacks was a good idea, yet a couple of Wave's posts prior were exactly that. And then even after he wanted to shoot in a group.

He's also a pretty vindictive guy in general when we play games together (we also DnD), and while I suppose it's not alignment indicative overall for him to retaliate against me, in his case specifically I believe he believes it's the right thing to do.
He's also a highly strategic person and I don't believe as scum he would think the best use of his limited role KP would be to hit me as I don't feel like I'm a threat to anyone at the moment.

I also noticed he's backed down off of me a bunch despite still throwing things like 'I don't trust him' around. Point being there as well, I don't think it makes sense for him to go after me head on as scum and draw my attention to him constantly and consistently.
Although I guess it's worth considering if I was the one to initiate the 'going after him' in the first place and he retaliated, and then i backed down off of him first so he did...that doesn't seem as great. I should just keep poking at him maybe to see what happens.

This is pretty bad for Artanis I think. He's very discussion oriented but normally he also picks up on little things and is a very intelligent town player. For him to be playing detached and then be convinced by Skynx's responses rather than the way he plays I just don't think looks good on him. But again for Artanis for me it's still mostly a feels read. He doesn't FEEL good. Like I think town Artanis should have had a breakout case by now that causes a stir, and he hasn't.

btdt is an activity + arguing with holyflare last night read. he was arguing with hf over a pile of nothing and flipping his read and being all indecisive and weirding me and hf the fuck out during night phase. if you know you're about to kill hf, there's no point to all those stupid gymnastics the only thing they can do is make you look worse in a few moments.

but really it's mostly cuz the rules are pretty harsh this game. i almost said pretty bad things.
You know it's funny, I was going to criticize Onegu after the game in regards to how he's attempting to force people to play inorganically (by threatening them so they don't role claim rather than building disincentives to do so into the game itself) but so far apparently the way he's done things has been pretty effective, at least in comparison to the shitstorm of mod activity that was my game back a few years ago.

There's something off about this post. It could be his reads progressing, but up until here he has yelled "HF scum! Lalalala TUNNEL" and except for the early koshi vote, that's pretty much it. Here he is seriously analyzing HF's read on Ritoky, and saying that a d1 read is very shallow. It doesn't seem like a natural progression to be considering the quality of HF's reads at this point (which means it's a scum fake read on HF, which went from fake tunnel to undecided without a clear thought pattern).

You're universally townread I believe and since you can't be 3P anymore (probably) the fact that you're still alive and mostly unscathed is concerning, but not to such a degree that I;m willing to even remotely focus on you above anyone else I've listed. Just some thoughts for the future (and I say HF tier because I'm sure you could be thinking the same about me if you're town---this is how HF and I play every game together. Neither of us ever truly trust the other.)

Random thoughts: Scum KP likely works (I hope) similarly to how I did it in LoL mafia. There is likely some large amount of factional KP (whether this has to be delivered is a hosting choice I guess, and only somewhat relevant right now), and hopefully this can be reduced once we finally start picking them off. I would say if they can somehow prevent Vivax from dying AGAIN today we're probably super fucked because it seems as though they decided to chunk a few people last night instead of outright killing any one person just in case of protection. As such, use protection accordingly.
I should be able to do a bunch more going forward assuming I'm not silenced again or somebody does something real derpy.
I know this was kinda disjointed but I wanted to get some thoughts out while they were somewhat fresh. There might be more.

If the former is true it's not AS bad. The latter is terrible if everyone had agreed that Vivax was confirmed scum, especially since Lunatic has been doing it the entire game. You're universally townread I believe and since you can't be 3P anymore (probably) the fact that you're still alive and mostly unscathed is concerning, but not to such a degree that I;m willing to even remotely focus on you above anyone else I've listed. Just some thoughts for the future (and I say HF tier because I'm sure you could be thinking the same about me if you're town---this is how HF and I play every game together. Neither of us ever truly trust the other.)
I can't be certain if protection was used on me last night (well I can, but you guys don't need to know how I'd know that either) but I didn't take any damage. Don't claim if you helped me out.
Random thoughts: Scum KP likely works (I hope) similarly to how I did it in LoL mafia. There is likely some large amount of factional KP (whether this has to be delivered is a hosting choice I guess, and only somewhat relevant right now), and hopefully this can be reduced once we finally start picking them off. I would say if they can somehow prevent Vivax from dying AGAIN today we're probably super fucked because it seems as though they decided to chunk a few people last night instead of outright killing any one person just in case of protection. As such, use protection accordingly.
I should be able to do a bunch more going forward assuming I'm not silenced again or somebody does something real derpy.
I know this was kinda disjointed but I wanted to get some thoughts out while they were somewhat fresh. There might be more.

One is that they will pick a target and stick with said target to absolve themselves of the responsibility to switch or potentially be forced to bus/nail their own teammate. The second is that they will spread themselves out fairly thin so as to avoid any incidental lynches or shenanigans and once again to absolve themselves of responsibility if they are afk at lynch time. Also this helps if vote analysis is done later and a couple scummers are voting for the same obvious townie or something---it just looks really bad and one of the absolute most important things scum are worried about is looking bad.
Most of the people I highlighted fit both of the above voting patterns in many cases, and all of them I believe fit at least one of them. Combined with their general scumminess throughout the game and you have yourself a slam dunk analysis imo.
You yourself mention you didn't 'see the point' in changing your vote since you were busy playing Civ. You fit into both categories---you were stuck on Dandel for who knows what reason when basically nobody else was (he was one of the people instrumental in leading lynches and so people trusted him) and you didn't care that your vote was spread out/useless.
I have you a bit lower on my list on purpose I I do believe there is a chance you could be town, but I'm still not sure how I feel after your 'rabid and wholely useless attack on me D1 and nothing useful after that' strategy.

At the time, Dandel was not instrumental in leading any lynches. In fact I'm not even sure I'd call him "instrumental" at all here yet.

Basically on day 1 you trolled instead of working with me. I made numerous attempts to get you to communicate with me, and instead you thumbed your nose at me and were an ass. Your case on me boils down to an OMGUS.
Your entire attempt to communicate with me was based on role speculation, and a completely absurd one, at that. I found absolutely no use in it, and therefore had no desire to engage you.

I didn't see this. When I asked you to quote for me, you quoted your little confirmation bias post. I don't even know which scum you are claiming to have 100% caught and interacted with. I think it's a bad idea to confirm Koshi if hte double goes through. Even if Viv and Luna are scum. I would absolutely sacrifice two teammates like this to get confirmation. I bet you would too. Sicklucker Orbed his Palmar scummate (who wasn't even under suspicion) and went to win that one game cause he was confirmed. It's a great play and even low risk with how these two are playing.

i am town. i played incredibly greedy and self-interested this game. so i will at least try to explain why.
very early on i realized i did not have the willpower or the desire to play how i normally play and wanted to default into a sheeping role. as a result of this, many people were scum reading me for not being the me of old, but well....i am not really that dude anymore i guess. it just ain't in me no more. in order to alleviate myself from the possibility of being lynched i fake claimed 3p. however, there's more to the story.
my role has an incredibly high amount of hp (the highest of any flipped champ thus far). but when i make a clone i have send the clone some of my hp in order to make them. the upside is that for every clone i have i do quite a substantial amount of more damage. at 3 clones now i can probably 1shot over half of the remaining players per phase i am alive. i needed to avoid chip/peripheral damage (which i did taking 0 damage all game) in order to develop myself into the late game dps master that i currently am. so 3rd party claiming makes me pretty much never targeted by damaging abilities thus i can pump out more clones and deal more damage.
so i am sorry for being a greedy asshole and claiming 3p as town, i am sorry my play is so shit that you probably can't read me as town and will have a hard time believing me; but at least i no longer have to perpetuate a lie and you can all understand why i did what i did.

This is absolutely possible, yes, but I still think it's way lower possibility if you consider the circumstances. He was on board D2 to kill Lunaticman anyway and having the no lynch happen made him look like shit. If he knows how to read the other people, he should certainly be able to find scum among them? They actually meant something if he bothered to figure it out. Later on he plays some thread police, posts some stuff related to game mechanics, talks about germans in lederhosen, puts up the lynch mob face for Koshi. Alrighty, if he's mafia he's doing splendidly. I can't tell for sure yet.
Acrofales: He's just here cause he's ugly. I'm firmly convinced he is. Actually I just don't want to read his posts too much unfounded hate, this guy is just a bully and bullies don't deserve attention, just basic attacks.
Koshi: Felt really underwhelming at the beginning. Lacked too much third person and typical strongheadedness. But I have seen Koshi being like this as town, actually. He's just not very consistent in his tone, and just activity wise I think he looks townie enough. Plus if his claim is real, a double lynch doesn't seem like a mafia ability. So I'm leaving him kinda in between. I feel like he's becoming more townie as time passes. I just wonder why he's not on a crusade against me yet. meh.

Koroko: Has three posts. Claims third party, wins by creating fake accounts. Sounds too good to be true. Not necessarily mafia but definitely a something from outside this world that needs cleansing.
As for SL, ptmc, WoS, Skynx, ritoky. I don't wanna put them into these categories Off the top of my head, mafia WoS tends to longish posts. SL just loses the grip on the game and misunderstands stuff, ritoky acts smug and spams stuff for fun a bit like scumtanis. I cba to check for those tendencies on these guys I'd like to have them around a bit longer anyway.

I caught Skynx because I remembered I had the ability two nights after the Nightstalker ult, whereas if I had remembered it directly after I could have caught him sooner. Oh well. I don't know how much of the specifics of the ability I'm allowed to claim but I'll say I didn't name Skynx as the target to catch him. Hopefully that''ll get the idea across.
Also I will pseudo-counterclaim BM's shield on me because one of my abilities makes it so that I wouldn't even know if he used it on me or not. If BM is a legit jailer though that would technically work, though it make me wonder how we killed Artanis exactly. I think the only thing that makes sense is between Tubesock and Ritoky.
The problem is if it's not Tubesock then it means scumteam was going for #beegplays which then brings Koshi back into the mix.

So...Koshi's ability is scummy. Artanis having to survive a 'duel' with him doesn't say much on his own, but everything I said about his ability earlier in the game still rings true.
The fact that he can essentially arbitrarily deal lethal or near-lethal damage to a target people are voting for without them knowing how they died is an amazing scum ability and a mediocre town one.

Problem is people with low hp (Koshi, GB) are going to be town and getting killed off by mafia because mafia can do it. And then others like hama, ritoky, acrofoles, TL are just running around (almost) full hp because mafia is healing them and protecting them etc etc etc.
Balancing this game is hard but you can't expect town to play together. While mafia just plays together. There are still 22 players in the game and maybe powerful spells unlock or get upgraded so who knows. But my hopes are low.
I actually think Skynx's filter might implicate Koshi.

It's not that stupid. While all that doesn't make Koshi mafia, it definitely make him town. What else has he done? Without this lynch nonsense, he'd have to put in a ton of effort which this koshi is not willing to do whatever alignment he is. So if he is mafia then this is a great play to have his team no lynch and then "save" town later with the double. Is it unbalanced if mafia elects to force the no lynch that they are later forced to double lynch? Straight no lynching is kinda mean.

I refer back to Tubesock's earlier game where he looked pretty good, and I think he looked pretty good all game really. It's just recent PoE that made me want to lynch him

my 1 paranoid theory is that WoS is the mafia. the primary reason being that he hasn't died and that BM has claimed his shield on WoS was a 20 damage shield not a medic save. from what it seems, mafia kp has been pretty much guaranteed or so high that it full to zero's people. with no one dying outside of artanis last night and no one claiming huge damage received or any ability that stopped kp/blocked an action....it likely means mafia forewent kp for something else or put its kp on artanis....which would mean WoS who claimed a role cop and lynched mafia and may have assisted me in killing another was not targeted again for like the 3rd or 4th night in a row. which gives me the sketches somewhere in the back of my brain.

For me it was him going after Exo_. I didn't think it was necessary for mafia. He voted him and later helped kill him when he had better or easier explained targets to go after if he was mafia. He was early on Vivax, Skynx and ExO.
But I still stand by my other stuff I said, "double lynch" is a good mafia play. And he's really just played till he could become confirmed. But bussing pretty much your entire team seems like poor play.
It's newbie-r scumplay to do so. The mentality is 'well I look super good for lynching scum and not lynching town so they'll never lynch me!'
AS for Koshi....bleh I dunno. I still kinda like the lynch more than lynching you

if you were mafia, how the mafia was in a fairly strong position from my perception when you red checked skynx; so it was probably a -EV play that is only made in a place of weakness or desperation which i don't feel like the mafia should have been at that point....

My biggest problem with this is they are all lurkers. Rereading Acrofales, Dandel Ion, iamperfection I just can't see how they could be mafia. Statistically though, it's improbable that mafia are all lurkers.
I think everyone in the game would kill HF if they were mafia, so it's not really informative that HF scummed: Vivax, Skynx and Koshi (also Art, beenthere,Lunat, ExO, Kurumi, GB, WoS). But if they are mafia then it would be double motivation to kill HF. Koshi already claimed hitting him.
NocturneMage was clearly tryhard so that's a good reason to kill him too. He also scummed Koshi, Skynx and Vivax. Along with Lunatic and was suspicious of Kurumi, GB, TL, ExO, Bill, Hazmatubo.
The kills also implicate Kurumi, ExO and GB. I eliminated kurumi and ExO but don't really remember why. HF was warming up to GB.
So, anyone want to talk about LT, Ritoky, or GlowingBear? I think Hazmatubo will be replaced, and I think Sicklucker will be figured out a little bit better later. (I'm right about Siclucker 50% of the time 70% of the time)

Dandel posted in a not-really-contributing way D2. Was happy with having voted and did some banter, including gems like "u fokkin wat mate??". Then, some sicklucker stuff, mainly about having two actions. Which actually is an interesting point. I can do one action per cycle. Sicklucker claims to have done two in one cycle? The more I hear about this guy the more I want him dead. He's just creating more and more confusion (nevertheless I think he's actually town). Well, Dandel... yeah, no, that's not enough for a town read.
Bill Murray at this point goes on the "lynch/kill idc" pile, i.e. scum. Self-explanatory. Not participating at all, he should be modkilled as soon as possible. It's absolutely frustrating to have such players in a game where you put effort in.
I still haven't got a final judgement of Artanis. It's interesting that he seemingly was fine with believing Koshi's claim D2 (telling me even that Koshi's rage is town indicative for him) yet he's neither hard defending nor is he pushing him. He's wishywashy at best at this point. Also, he's hard townreading ritoky for meta reasons which I absolutely do not like. Tubesock and Acro are in his "people-that-are-present-and-kinda-doing-things range" which he claims to be a town lean - and with that, he never looked into them again. Hard scumread on Vivax, soft defense on Lunatic, meta reasons again. Gets called out for that Lunatic meta read tho and gets proven wrong. Decides to townread Acro, puts Wave into the center of attention and townreads him, townreads Sicklucker, too. After all, his filter has a lot of reads which are kinda ballsy and not exactly thread-sentimenty. Artanis comes on the town pile now.
ExO_ completely disappeared. Four pages of filter. Lynch or kill, who cares. There we go, scum list.

I looked at the nightkills that mafia likely did. I didn't include Lord Tolkien because I killed him. Holyflare, NocturneMage, and beentheredonethat all scummed ExO_ and Skynx. HF and Noct scummed Koshi but beentheredonethat did not. I think that is why they died and Dandel Ion, iamperfection and WaveofShadow haven't.
I think ExO_, Koshi, and Skynx have the highest likelyhood of flipping mafia. Then will be Kurumi probably and maybe one of the 3rd parties. I trust Ritoky's claim far more than Artanis's.
Man I dunno. I had an exhausting day and tomorrow is going to be just as exhausting. It's either you or tubesock for me at this point, I'm not voting BM.
