he was needling me over nothing so i think you're a bit wrong there. i think your deferring to someone else's read as a path of less blame/resistance part is valid. but generally i think with rels when he is mafia he has a hard time separating the additive information he has, so when he is mafia he ends up speaking with more certainty due to extra info and sticking to his views harder/not considering alternatives. pretty hard to analyze that as a metric on d1, but his current play isn't outside of him being mafia.

if it happens more than once it usually means the person is above 80% chance to be town, reliable enough for me to not vote them d1.
