I tried real hard to get as solid of a townread as I could on everyone. Pushed my scumreads as hard as I could. Fought my ass off to not get mislynched. Asked people to help me out of my tunnel if I was by reevluationg their own reads. And did my best as a ghost to commincate information, not just orders, as well as talk out our best save. I'll make sure to change this up next time so I can be better. | ||

There are two types of ghosts: Benevolent ghosts are town-aligned, cannot post in the thread or in the voting thread or via PM / out-of-game message to anyone, can talk to each other in a separate QT, will have 1 collective vote for the lynch, and can decide on one person / night to protect (protection will be publicy announced in the thread; there is no protection if there is 4 or less people alive at night). Vengeful spirits are mafia-aligned, cannot post in the thread or in the voting thread or via PM / out-of-game message to anyone, can talk in the scum QT and will have 1 collective vote for the lynch. If a townie is lynched and more than half of the people voting him are town, he becomes a vengeful spirit. If a townie is lynched and half or more of the people voting him are mafia, he becomes a benevolent ghost. If a townie is killed at night by the mafia, he becomes a benevolent ghost. A mafia being lynched or killed always becomes a vengeful spirit. Whatever he becomes, a dead player will have the opportunity to write a message to the town, that will be posted by the host at the start of the next phase. Example 1: if Half the Sky is lynched Day 1, she will be able to write a message that will be diffused by the host in the Day 2 post. Example 2: If Half the Sky is killed Night 1, the message will be diffused in the Night 2 post. The message cannot exceed 50 words and cannot contain the names of other players. The host will precise the name of the author of the message, but not his new role and alignement. If no message is submited, the following message will be posted: "..." The hosting team reserves the right to not diffuse a message. The town will not know this hidden mechanic The mafia will know this hidden mechanic in details. Modkilled players are deleted from the game and don't become ghosts. My intentions were: - have a balanced setup - have a simple but hidden mechanic be progressively discovered by the players - surprise them and making them think without betraying them - have the mechanic be a little town favored to composate for the slight scum imbalance of 10v3 all vanilla, but with something scum could exploit - involve the dead players - give the scums something to worry about the town would not know at first, but would get them in trouble if discover: talking about the fact that a lynched townie could either turn into a scum spirit or a town ghost depending on the ratio of scum voting for him What I was disappointed about: - the last will mechanic was almost not used. That was the thing that was supposed to help scum create chaos to compensate for the infinite medic protection. A "fake cop check" plan was almost used but ultimately didn't; I WAS SO HYPE ABOUT IT - the "lynched townie becomes either a scum spirit or a town ghost" mechanic was not used, when it was suppose to be an additional way for townies to scumhunt after they would discover it. Not the fault of anyone; FF and scott were lynched by everybody, and Chrom was never really considered. Without a town vs mafia close vote, the lynched townie becomes a vengeful spirit The things that were not good in retrospect: - the infinite medic prot until only 4 players were alive was extremely OP - making most of the mislynched townies win in case of a scum victory is weird The things I liked: - all vanilla setup, so no claim bullshit - related to the above, blue powers on dead players was a good idea - marv and TT's QT. When you play scum, you talk a lot with very few people on a dedicated QT, and that creates a social link. marv and TT had that in the ghost QT. This idea of having little groups of observers detached from the game and talking together is cool | ||

It was definitely an interesting setup. I agree with a lot of what Rels said above about it (I think medic probably should have been either public or consecutive but not both), vanilla games are super interesting in general. Weirdly enough, I think this game played out very similarly to the other vanilla game. I think the best point against me was FFs weird push on me, that probably should have been pushed harder. Again if anyone has any advice for me, I'd love to hear it. I tried to be a bit less... invested this game (I usually stress out about the game a lot when I'm mafia) and it definitely made it more enjoyable for me (and made me more relaxed when posting too I think). | ||
