TL Mafia Diablo2 Master Guild!
Let's get TL Mafia back to Diablo 2!
Games are played on Closed Battle.net, USEast Realm.
Everybody is free to create any character they want and play how they want, but we have a weekly play group running every Sunday at 7pm (GMT -04:00) that has fixed characters. Which means that, if you intend to play with the official playgroup altogether, you have to reserve a character to play only in the scheduled time.
We may set different group to complete different tasks in the future, in case this goes ahead.

I'd advise against "challenges."
Just let's have fun, clown around, and do fun stuff that we like.
I think I'll do a singer barbarian, although I'm pretty flexible to pick what our team needs the most.

Challenges aren't a must, it's just there for people that wants to try it

You don't need to repurchase. Finding a download copy is easy (and I'm pretty sure you can do it directly from Blizzard). You only need a CD key, and that's very easy to fake/generate/whatever.

Well, people could just create their characters and up them at different pace, so playing together would be difficult.
That's why having a "Whole Team Online" character seems important to me.
I'd love to schedule a weekly time. What do you guys think?

Weekly time seems fine. Sometime on the weekend for a few hours, maybe more schedule permitting.
I don't know if we have to have the whole team online to play. That can be a bit prohibitive, because shit happens and people can't make weekly dates sometimes. Just go by an honors system - you can play with one or two people absent if it happens, as long as people help them catch up later.

If we're doing this for ourselves only with each other, closed B.net really isn't necessary (or ideal). You can use any server, and maybe even the reddit one.

Meh, I don't know, hapa. I find this private servers very sketchy. It's up to you guys to decide, though. Just remember that the games aren't more than 35 dollars.
Also, I'm thinking about putting a weekly schedule of 2 hours of play on Sundays. What time do you guys think is the best?
When this is fixed, we will have a character to be played at that time, and only that time. We can play with whatever characters outside of this, of course. I think this is fair and not so prohibitive, right?

It looks like everyone has a CD key, so we can just use closed BNet servers.
Some time on Sunday should be fine. We should just set a start time, and go however long we feel like after that. Sometimes 2, maybe sometimes longer. Night works best for me, not sure what Holyflare's sleep schedule is though.
We should also roughly decide on characters. Probably should not have more than 2 of a given class, just so that people aren't fighting over items too much. I know Yamato wants to run a sorc. Does anyone else have something they want to run in mind?

I played through A1 today and yesterday, getting tons of framerate issues though. Did you experience anything like that GB?

It lags sometimes, but didn't have any technichal issues, no.
I remember you could play on windowed mode if you changed something in diablo2 icon, putting an "-w" there.
Maybe you're experiencing lag because you're from Europe playing in USEast?

I doubt I'll be playing outside of the group at all, so the reset makes no difference for me (unless a new patch is coming or something).

Well, trying to catch a place on the ladder is cool. But I just realised that it can't be done playing only on sundays, so yeah.

Some runewords and cube recipes have always been ladder-only. Uber Trisram is non-ladder though.
Also, I can't play in an hour - need to rune some errands this afternoon. Might be free at night.

Reminder: the Official Group Play starts this Sunday, 31th May at 23:00 GMT (+00:00), in . We will be building ladder characters to play together. This means the characters we have already created won't be the official ones.
Also, I will participate on the ladder, but without any stress. Just playing whenever I have time. If someone wishes to do the same, PM me so we can set some kind of strategy
