Out of the people involved in the whole thing, ObiWanShinobi comes out as the clear suspect. This post is just all kind of wrong. "A bunch of people pressured her to draw a conclusion" Ommiting that he did, in fact, also pressure him (her?) into the same direction just a couple minutes earlier (here). A sign that he does not want to be associated with the line of play even though he directly participated. "Scum points for you. This is how I would write a post as scum." I don't even see the point in this. Not only is it one of the least convincing ways to portray suspicion, it also contains a logical fallacy for good measure. Given that Your Mom has not shown truly suspicious behaviour there (granted this may come down to opinion, though of course, my opinion is more valuable to me than anybody else's), it is not surprising that ObiWanShinobi would need to fall back to rhetoric to shadow-explain a substanceless mafia read. Deflection and unsubstantiated reads do not a good start make. As for Tubesock, I am generally not a fan of the "friendly neighborhood helper" type player, it too often is a Mafia player trying to appear useful by spending all his efforts into the formulating or setting up of plans. Case in point, none of his posts have shown intent to find mafia players, all of them are about questionable* plans intead. Other than that, I would also consider shooting raynpelikoneet purely because all his posts at time of writing are objectively terrible, have nothing to do with this game or are poor attempts at jokes. Occasionally a combination of any of the above, probably. I'm not yet acclimated enough to really tell which posts in this game are jokes, sadly. *At the time of me writing this his plan seems to be getting off the ground already, though I do not quite understand why. I will just briefly say my opinion on it as an idea, independent of who suggested or favored it: As far as I can tell the only restriction on shooting is the 24 hour mark, in which case a target that has been agreed on by "town consensus" will have a decent shot at preempting these attempts on his life, since he knows it coming. This is then a game of "who can shoot closer to the deadline" (okay it already kind of is regardless of that, but talking about specific people here). And if the target is mafia, you can be sure he is going to try to shoot first (unless he is not present at the time), but even if he is town he may well decide to shoot somebody else (purely mathematically speaking a preferable choice given he knows himself town, though in the long run mostly inconsequential. By the time I'm done with this there are probably around 3 more pages of posts I haven't read yet so if anything I said has become obsolete by now just imagine I did not say anything at those parts. Side note, I believe almost everyone in this game would benefit greatly if they just thought about whether their posts were worth posting before they posted them. Thanks. | ||

Unfortunately I won't be around during the troubled times of the soft deadline but that is who I would likely go with right now, albeit without having read too deeply into the thread. For the record, I'm not in favor of shooting Your Mom, while shooting Koshi is acceptable in my book, but I'm not crazy about it either. | ||

I strongly believe raynpelikoneet to be the biggest single detriment to a town victory in this game. Yes, this is not a case in the traditional sense, as in, it would not actually matter what alignment he is for this argument. That said, I also suspect him of being mafia on top of it. Think of it as a bonus. I will not go through his filter and link every single post I find mildly suspicious (there are enough of those, but they do not really matter), not only is that too much work, but also would just result in needless bloating. Just a few things I want to draw attention to.. Here, he ties his potential participation to demands to a person that has just previously expressed his ire at not only his dodging of the issue but also said he didn't want to discuss what raynpelikoneet is going to demand next. This does not make a lot of sense from the perspective of direct discourse (the angle he seems to be playing from). In blocking this conversation, in this manner, he all but ensures that not only does this path close down, but also that it seems like the fault of that lies within the other party to the casual observer. Salt in the wound as well. For good measure I suppose. The next part I will honor with the only quote at my disposal (if somebody could tell me how to multiquote that'd be neat) - from this post: On March 03 2015 19:42 raynpelikoneet wrote: I don't want either of you shot, i want Koshi shot. It is not only hypocritical to the highest degree (talking about him being fake and making shit up, when he is, in the same post, making up wild narratives for how he wants people to look at what happened) and you know what makes a repeat appearance? The line of conversation he himself shut down earlier, twisted of course to blame Your Mom for it. This is actually the point where I decided that raynpelikoneet should be removed from this game. This is what made me certain of the deliberation, the intent in shutting down the conversation with Your Mom earlier. This is where he becomes the enemy. Really, what else I may write, this in combination with the first of my points should be sufficient grounds of noose around neck. The rest, again here, is just a bonus. And nobody seems to have noticed. I'm realizing this is becoming a bit long-winded so I'll just leave you with the parting note that, after this set-up raynpelikoneet relentlessly yells and screams about Your Mom. He's not actually doing anything. He's not actually fleshing it out any further. He just yells until people agree with him persumably just so he shuts up, or, because it beats thinking for themselves maybe. And what's worse, it works. I wish I had the time to write this up before the shot, I really do. *Flip information we now have do not better this point make. Or worse. Wherever you stand. As two irrelevant side notes, 1) just to make it even more clear than I assume it already is, this is my first game on this site. I am however, quite experienced in the ways of Mafia so don't worry about that. 2) I feel like people are needlessly personal. Not naming names, but this game would be more enjoyable to read and play if we could keep it calm. Calm doesn't even have to mean civil if that's not your thing, but there's really no reason to throw insults around. | ||

I have also been reading sandroba pretty strongly as town for the whole game, so I'm not inclined to lynch him even for faking a role. People seem to like claiming random stuff for absolutely no reason here, I don't even know why you're flipping out on just this one to be honest. When I saw the four nominees I thought that Tubesock was the most suspicious out of them at first glance, followed by Onegu. I'll read further into it during work tomorrow and then post some thoughts and my conclusion in the evening. | ||

Geript is lying and it's pretty obvious why and what he tries to achive with it so I didn't say anything about it so far, not that it'd work. It's basically what an elementary schooler would come up with, but the child is in town class so we ignore that it's a bit slow. On review, I like lynching sicklucker more than lynching Tubesock today*, though I am now of the opinion that at the very least, neither of them is town. Sicklucker is trying too hard to 'confirm' himself as town with the same joke (preempting: I'm not saying he was joking here...) raynpelikoneet already pulled. That wouldn't even be my biggest issue but he also is quite invested in making it sound like that's not what he's doing. Additionally to that, going after the roleclaim instead of Tubesock is the decision a mafia is more likely to make even if Tubesock were town (gets rid of a role on top of being a mislych) and given general thread sentiment I definitely can (and will) believe he thought sandroba was regarded badly enough that he could do it. Not to mention the real possiblity of sicklucker and Tubesock just being straight up partners. And then there is the debacle about him "forgetting" how roles were handled this game, credit to kitaman27. Sicklucker is not genuine in his approach to the game looking at the whole. *Fun fact: My best reason for wanting to lynch Tubesock is still basically "he feels like mafia to me" and I'm not sure how persuasive that would be to other people. | ||

I'm not entertaining the possibility that he's been RB'd because I can't imagine anybody would give geript a vigilante shot. I guess for all I know the town spirit could be terrible at this game but the phrase "selected from volunteers" makes me think it's probably ended up being somebody that would not in fact do the equivalent of arming a monkey with nukes. On the same line of thinking I'm also doubting IAmRobik's vigilante claim but there's really no point in talking about this is there now. A point it would have to take a stance about the possible lynches today, I suggest doing that instead of fishing for opinions about town roles. | ||

Okay, so apparantly the town spirit didn't really read the thread but getting a spirit that does instead is at best a band-aid fix. Either way I'm not trying to complain about the setup (much), as I said it was fun to play at least. | ||
