And the observer doesn't really seem like a helpful role for mafia. There are other roles that can't be checked. Course, slam checking a dead man makes it hard to confirm his claim. So there is that. (If he was going to fake a claim, though, the obvious thing to do would be to green check an obvious town. So I think he's okay there.) I'm sorry.
