i've had him kinda town on this basis for most of the game. the issue with this is that as my reads polarise a bit and there become better/longer reasons for people to be town, this gets weaker as something on its ownessentially i'm a little worried i'm townreading him when he's mafia, but at the moment i'm still plumping town, and there are way, way better targets than VE anyways. pretty much mirrors my thoughts on him
Can you explain to me what a tone read is? Also the blded part ishard for me to understand.

tone is like tone of voice/post
the bolded part is saying that a tone read works for a d1 read but as the days progress and we have more information such as votes/night kills then things like tone become less relevant.

Actually na fuck it im not the cop. I wanted to drag it out till the end of the night to rescind but I dont want the medic to be restricted to save me when mafia probably knows im fake by now. It woulda been smart if I did this with no medic but alas
My goal was obviously to take a bullet and gain information I made it pretty obvious to the real cop that I was pushing no hard agenda and Im sure no ones bad enough here to cc on day 2 for a likely vt.
I was softing hard and not committed to doing it. But I have a 100% way to prove im vt so I figured id dick around and see what info that would pop up.
I never would have really claimed instead just soften but I really did think ksc counter claimed me with a red check he was pushing me sooo hard that day out of no where. Like one of the two games I played with him he got are cop killed by doing the same thing so like you can understand this im sure. I misread the op and I thought I was the miller or framed so I figured when I got red check I had to play it out lol.

lol. a tone read is just how someone sounds. i don't really know how to explain something so fundamental. i guess it would be, if you don't think about the content, how does that person come across to you?
to the bolded: quick example. Day 1: "I think VE's tone is townie" - that's easily a good enough reason not to lynch someone. LYLO: "I think VE's tone is townie" - well, that's no longer enough on its own to save/townread someone.
