To elaborate on this one, from the games I've looked at, kush appears to shut down as mafia once he becomes a legitimate lynch target. He commonly lashes out at people stating that there is obviously nothing he can do, so why should he work for people who aren't willing to listen.
This game he at least seems willing to give opinions, rather than accepting his fate and going dark.
