Setup Notes: Town Roles: 3x Martyr 4x Day Vigilante 1x Pardoner 1x America (Dud) 1x Parity Cop Mafia Roles: 3x Day Vigilante 1x Normal Vigilante 1x Martyr 1x Traitor//Recruiting Mason Overall, I felt the setup was pretty balanced. Though it was unfortunate for mafia that a lot of potential mislynch targets ended up martyring for confirmed townies. Mafia had several opportunities to win this game early, but squandered those opportunities due to a mixture of inattentiveness and inactivity. I'll post more about that in my next post. | ||

General Gameplay Thoughts: Overall: This game played quite a bit like a "stereotypical" newbie game: town was inactive/disorganized early on and did not get much done. Mafia for the most part skirted around and avoided suspicion by lurking in the background, while town shot and lynched each other. However Marv replacing in on Day 6 gave town a much needed burst in activity. Town pretty quickly got their shit together, and Mafia never really had the activity to keep up. Mafia Missed Victories: Pretty simply, this game was a guaranteed win for Mafia if both Oats and Gumshoe had used their Dayvig KP. Instead, they got too greedy/passive with it, and ended up being unable to fire with votes piled on them. Instead, Alakaslam ended up making an incredibly emotional shot (ironically shooting Yamato, another Day Vigilante). JAT's shot on Caller was OK, but Ace/Gumshoe were screaming to get shot for days due to their inactivity and inability to establish their townieness. On the mafia side, Tehpoofter managed to get away with a shot on Koshi (which was a good result), but people should have realized that it is an incorrect play from a town perspective to shoot a scum-read. The no-flip mechanic makes it extremely undesirable to shoot your scumreads if lynching them can provide valuable information to the thread. Player Shoutouts: Blazinghand for playing a fairly solid Traitor game. He had to guess 3 players to make it into the mafia QT, and ended up guessing correctly on the first night (gumshoe, Ace, Oatsmaster). A parity cop check by Cephiro ultimately gave him an early death, but I think overall he played well, and by far the best of the mafia-aligned players. WaveofShadow // justanothertownie // Marvellosity for leading town into back-to-back-to-back scum lynches in MYLO. This game would have been a trainwreck for town had you three not stepped up to the plate in the late-game. Austinmcc for leading the first mafia lynch, and an enjoyable sequence of drunkposting. | ||

Player Warnings/Punishments: Warning to Gumshoe for missing the first 48 hours of the game, and barely skirting around the activity requirements on several cycles. He made one post on Days 4 and 5 with barely any time left in the day (30 minutes and 2 minutes) respectively, and played the first half of the game as if he was only trying to avoid being modkilled. It was an unacceptable level of activity, regardless of alignment. Otherwise, I didn't feel there was anything else in the game worth a warning or ban. unusual that all the mafia are who they are "supposed" to be. game seemed kinda mafia favoured. 6 mafia lynches and 2 mislynches and mafia should still have won the game if they'd used their bullets. feels a bit icky. prplhz you played great. Didn't want to use it as an argument in the game, but I checked your filter before I asked to replace you, because I wanted to know I was replacing for a townie, and I was pretty damn sure. | ||

We just had so many mafia to lynch. | ||

edit: from a personal perspective, i'm also glad that the only non-mafia i had my vote on all game (VE) is also the only person i never had my vote on at the end of a cycle. it's so hard having to accept you're probably wrong | ||
