is it the timing of LSB calling rayn scum? because it doesn't seem like a scummy thing to do to find a good townie who has come up with a clever plan and call him scum for coming up with that plan. it just looks like he's completely misunderstood something.

i am not trying anything on LSB other than understand why marv and rayn, the two biggest thread presences right now, both think he is scum
and i generally try not to attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity (hanlon's razor for razorfans)
and i can see how LSB had a problem understanding rayn's plan because it was pretty hard to understand
and i'm still not sure i understand it but hopefully scum aren't so much more clever than the thread that they outsmarted us all

Because LSB didn't understand something and his conclusion to it was that Rayn was scum. When you don't understand something, do you instantly call the person scum for it? If I recall correctly LSB tends to be fairly cautious in the start, so for him to open with a scumread on something as light as that seems suspicious.

Prplhz felt really different in Default Suspicions. Quite active at the start and poking at things, then went afk a bit. I checked a scumgame of his before that game and the biggest difference I felt was that he didn't care about the game as scum, which I'm feeling here as well.
Well, I guess he could be. But I'd say it's more likely that he's putting himself in a bad spot as town than as Mafia.
I'm having a hard time reading what purplhz is saying because he posts a ton of text but barely says anything in all of it :/ His attitude to the game is just unhelpful. If he's usually helpful then he's probably scum.

i still think it would be weird for a scum
to find a townie
who has a reputation for being good at this game
and who has already come up with a pretty complicated plan
and call him scum
i don't think the plan is that good that scum has to go all out against it like that
it kind of controls power roles but it doesn't find scum, if we can't find scum we will still lose even with rayn's plan.
