If I had to guess, austin is just fake claiming recruiter to make us paranoid about any obvious townies. He was caught and had nothing to lose.
A recruiter mechanic doesn't make sense in this setup. Suppose his faction recruits a member from a mafia faction. Then they would have the complete scum list for that team. Think of how fast the game would fall apart that way. It doesn't work.

Well my gut reaction to the "touched by magic" claim would be that ritoky is telling the truth. There isn't an obvious reason to make something like that up on the spot as far as I'm concerned. At first bunnies mentions how he could either tell the truth or be lying, but then seems to be more open to the idea that he is telling the truth, which makes the most sense logically. I think it's rare that you will find a player trying to throw suspicion on another player unless they are going for the mislynch at that moment. Generally, they are either genuinely suspicious or they are wanting to make it seem as if they are suspicious for town cred. There are enough people that she has commented on that I'm willing to excuse her for sitting on the fence with him. Admittedly, I've been avoiding people with huge filters like the plague so I'm not sure how legit those other reads are.
If you're looking for a shot, I think there are better choices like thrawn, Errandorr, or maybe tam?. Perhaps Foolishness if you're feeling ballsy (Need to get back to you on this one).

There were definitely some interesting concepts, even if they didn't work out in practice.
Funny enough, with four single person factions on day one, a RNG lynch isn't so bad after all
I think my enjoyment of this game increased significantly after deciding to put less effort in and go with the flow. Like layabout was saying, the thread was pretty unbearable due to the size. 250 pages in two cycles is just too much.
