hm, that's a reasonable thought clarity but there's also the possibility that marv as scum, given 120 hours in the thread without me around, could talk his way out of the lynch. Marv's a pretty good player. And honestly, no matter what sloosh flips it doesn't really "give us more info" since he either flips scum and the game is over or he flips town. We can just work on the assumption he flips town and lynch him later.

like, let me put it this way: marv resolutely claiming he's fine getting lynched if sloosh flips town (like, for reals fine) has already put doubt in your mind, hasn't it? You're wondering if scum marv woudl be willing to throw away the game like that. Hell, maybe you're thinking you might not want to lynch him after all if sloosh flips town, since why would scum make a play like that?

I'm not saying marv can't be town. He certainly can be. I'm saying that marv is a canny, tricky, capable player as whatever alignment. He's the kind of player people get suspicious of just for being alive because he's that dangerous. And honestly, I think if Marv isn't the first lynch, he's simply not getting lynched. Now, if we're pretty sure marv is town, that's fine. We lynch sloosh dirk oats and hope for the best. But if we're not committing to lynching marv first you need to know what you're getting into. Marv's the only player in this game who's close to me in terms of skill, and without me around for 120 hours I'm sure he won't be the second lynch. I'm really sure.

If you're really town, why does it matter if you die first, marv? I think there's a good chance you're town and legitimately just like this for some reason, but I also think there's a good chance you're hung up on this because you're scum. You think you can play it super clean and open between now and the D3 lynch, and people won't even bother voting you. Sure, you derailed the lynch D1 and outed the doctor, and were conveniently away as we desperately tried to draw votes together to lynch rayn. But you're acting so sure that you're town! you must be town!

and you won't get voted D3.

I can see a scum marv doing this and honestly it makes no difference for our wincon who gets lynched first, I just think of you, sloosh, and dirk, you're the one who given time could really talk his way out of a lynch as scum. so we lynch you first.

In any case, maybe we don't want to lynch Marv at all and go with sloosh/dirk/oats as our lynches. I can see an argument for that, since marv was pretty good for the first like 75% of D1. I'm just saying, *IF* we want to lynch Marv, if we think that's a good move, we should probably either do it first or just table it and not do it at all because a scum Marv would talk his way out somehow.

Well, there's two answers I can see.

1) town marv: Marv is very prideful and legitimately thinks sloosh is scum. He wants to come out of this with a big e-peen and say he didn't get mislynched. I can see this for sure. He might also just want this game to be over more quickly, but honestly it would be over for him D2 either way (town wins and sloosh burns, or marv is dead)

2) scum marv: Despite what he says, this "i'm okay with dying D3, just quote this and vote me" thing actually looks pretty townie. You know when you read marv's posts you start to think he's town, and maybe he's gonna play it up so hard people dont' want to vote him by D3. 120 hours of helpful and friendly marv who's ready to die for the town could convince people he's not a good lynch. Honestly, scum marv in this position doesn't have a lot of plays, but this one would work.
