hi guys. Nice to meet you.

I think I'm going to need to reread the discussion so far a couple of times for it to all sink in. each of us figuring out where we are on the board looks like a priority, whether it makes sense to share that info or not. My gut says it does make sense to share. Whether or how much we should spread out from there...I dunno.

All I read from your post is "yeah I like the general idea that town is showing, but I am kinda on the fence about it" without anything on it.

This part is true. I'm guessing that our max MS is unknown to scum and I won't be sharing that info today. I am not a heavy duty strategist, so the questions of whether to move toward or away from each other, how to group, etc. I will leave to someone who's good at that stuff. My game strength is analyzing body of work and relative tells. The former I do whether I know players or not. The latter comes with familiarity.

What is this bizarre semi-defence? :/

Not accusing him, his fluff came to me as more eagerness to do something productive than anything else

The other useless dudes actually attempted to discuss something. Fferllt said a lot of words with no meaning or whatsoever. His latest post - questioning sentinel's whiteknighting - is probably all the substance he has made this game.

Whats your take on sentinel and deconduo?

I've given two reads so far. I'm reading all the gridboard strategy and tactics discussion but aside from deciding what I will do night 1, I probably won't contribute much until we have some data to go with the theory.

I still think you are town. Phagga appears a little followy re your scum read on me. I don't have the meta to say whether that is typical of his game, but it pushes him a little below null in my subjective list.

marvelousity's reactions to FoSes looks townish, but once again I lack the meta to make that a solid town read. he's on the town side of null atm.

Sentinel's pretty far south of null. I have a strong allergy to being WK'd by someone who knows zip about my game when the objective data says "not townish".

deconduo hasn't made an impression either way yet.

I'm currently looking at B and J and they are close to each other, they are basically already in a pair, any idea on how they should move ideally?

I was getting ready to put a Sentinel vote down before I reached this post.

yes, basically so we know when and why people are voting without having to crosscheck constantly.

Tell me in your own words why you want to lynch Vivax now and not Sentinel.

Vivax' post that I quoted looks like he has knowledge that I don't have, since he was trying to plan the moves of two specific letters on the grid.

I still don't like Sentinel's WKing. As I read through the last few pages just now, I saw some other observations about why I might come off a little odd in my first post. They did so without making excuses for what I wrote, if that makes sense. Sentinel's comments stood out because he seemed to be characterizing my first post as something it was not.

Sentinel is still a person of interest, but Vivax' post clangs considerably.

Hey now, this conversation is supposed to be entirely one way!

They're not great, no. Really the worst of it is that it could all have waited until tomorrow. I'm not averse to a Vivax lynch right now, but the wagon does seem to be choo-chooing along very easily.

That tends to happen when people think they see a scum slip.

He already had picked up some votes prior to that comment. Did you think those earlier votes made sense?

This is now disgusting. You can't say this and then disappear.

tbqh with as little knowledge as I have of the players, I'm concerned about voting at all. My votes this game won't be random, but they will not be nearly informed enough for my comfort.

I think of my tentative town reads, you are by far the strongest. Town motivation and town uncertainty drip off every sentence. What I don't know is how good your reads are.

Good morning everyone, glad to see I was wrong about Vivax.

I don't buy into the whole "hosts let him get away with using cardinal directions because he is scum", that could've been an honest mistake, I don't particularly buy into the host WIFOM. What I believe makes it a scum slip is that he said "I wanted to move here". A townie would have no idea who they are, so how could they have a specific destination in mind?

On the board I am most certainly L, all I did was an about face, didn't figure anyone else would do anything similar, and I didn't want to potentially move myself into a worse position by blindly moving. (about 70-30 chance of picking the right direction versus not)

It seems to me that the optimal movement for town is as follows: Form into large groups as quickly as possible, and gather up stragglers as we move around the board. The trick here, is that once we are into a group, we do not want our specific move patterns known. It's been revealed to us through Vivax's PM that the angels have a "leap" mechanic, where they match a players movement within a certain range. We can use this to our advantage in the following way: Once we are in groups of 3-4 people, the group will set a direction of up to 3 spaces. The players in the group will all keep their moves hidden but will do their best to follow the assigned direction and distance. (optimal distance is probably 1 or 2) The people on the outside of the group always move inwards, and the people on the insides always move outwards. I believe this would make the leaps ineffective in the clutter because of bodyblocking. It also means if an angel does get inside the group, we can pretty much guarantee at least someone will have their flashlight on the angel, after that it's just coordination.

[green]If an angel encounters an obstacle, say a town character, that is not their intended target during a leap what will happen?
If a player ends the night beside an Angel, does that Angel feed automatically, or does the Angel have to specify the target in advance and then get close to them?

Can you expound on the bolded part?

I'm talking about the questions swirling over whether the host would accept and process a messed up move depending on the alignment of the player, and the fact that at least some of the votes on that wagon appear to be predicated on an answer of "yes, they would if the player were an Angel".

Ok, I understand that I asked the question wrong, because that's not what I wanted to know.

Is there anyone specific on the Oats wagon that you are leery of?

Also, quite generally, who would you like to lynch currently? Who looks like scum to you and why?

Gut says Ghost is the most questionable on the Oats wagon. I need to find time to figure out what my gut is worried about. Zeph freaked my out when he said my sole day 2 post (pretty sure it was one post at that point, where I said which letter I think is mine) looked better than my day 1 body of work.

I want to dig some more before answering your last questions. Probably in an hour or so.

1. Oatsmaster - null
2. Sharrant - null
4. deconduo - no counterclaim, tentative town
5. Zephirdd - town
7. ghost_403 - null
8. [UoN]Sentinel - leaning scum
9. Blazinghand - town
11. mkfuba07 - null
12. phagga - town

I doubt that all my town reads are accurate. But I bet there is at least one scum in my nulls. Possibly Sharrant. mkfuba07 has really not made any impression at all on me and that's probably a bad sign.

He hasn't made a positive impression in most of his posts IMO. I'm not going to produce a wall of defense or a lengthy case on him. The interface is just too cumbersome to make that an easy task right now. I should have spent some time prior to the game getting more comfortable with this format.
