I think the way you played this game is find, people find methods of scumhunting that work for them but you need to make it very clear to people what you are trying to do. If you had made a post like this during the actual game, I would have been pretty much convinced that you're real town.
I also tend to get caught up in second guesses when my super aggressive play tends to lead me in the right direction more than my levelheaded inquisitive one does. The trick is finding out what works about that aggression and employing it in a way that doesn't hurt town at all.
At what point in the game does it make sense to say "I was trying to match my lurky scum meta on purpose?" Say I roll town, and I start off D1 by lurking again. It creates a bunch of wifom about whether I'm really town, or scum trying to cash in on other people's memories of the time I rolled town and intentionally matched my scum meta. Admitting that I was playing intentionally scummy on purpose means that it's no longer a viable tactic...... Which is why I can't ever do it again, lol.

You don't have to put it that way but your goal was to get better reads so I don't see why anyone would have a problem with that

I shadowed Promethelax in this game. This was a short game and I was pretty busy with work, so I don't really have any profound revelations to share.
One thing I learned that really never occurred to me was to not read my role PM right away. As Prome put it: "so that we can formulate reads as if we were town so that if we roll scum we can have authentic fake reads". This seems like a sensible, easy thing to do.
I also hope I learned some of the basic ideas behind how Prome likes to apply meta, and his process for identifying and eliminating potential scum. I've also been receiving some instruction from Marvellosity, and it's really interesting to compare how he and Promethelax differ in their methods. I could write more about this if anybody's interested, but I'm not sure I would really make a quality analysis, since I'm still pretty new to the game.
Thanks Promethelax, and all the other players! GG

I always want to not read my role PM, but 1) I always forget to 2) I'll rightly fear I'm scum anyways 3) The yellow new-PM button is too tempting

Just so you know bh, I'm keeping this on my subscribed list just so I'll be notified when you post analysis. I also cry when I see it because I want that analysis.

Believe it or not I am actually still working on this write-up. I'll try to have it done before the end of February.

This might sound silly, but okay, end of MARCH. I meant end of MARCH. It'll happen I promise. I know it has been a year and a week since the end of this game, but THE END GAME WRITEUP WILL HAPPEN.
