Night 1 of Aperture Mafia for Biggest WTF moment. Link + Show Spoiler + -7 Deaths, 3 by the same kill flavor. -No flips. -An invention. -The Rift reached Stage 2 Destabilization. -The Black Market Opens. -2 Scum die N1. Foolishness as Best Town Player and Best Analysis in Aperture Mafia Filter + Show Spoiler + -Posted in Limericks the whole game, yet got his point across well. -Used his role to scare Mafia into not killing him again. -Nailed many scum by focusing on scumhunting rather than mechanics -Sacrificed himself to make up for a failtown no-lynch. -Analysis nails not just scum, but mafia/SC GreYMisT's Yugi Moto for Best Role Idea Half-fake Half-true claim + Show Spoiler + Not just because it was amazing. Originally it was a boring role with just 3 word traps that were a kill, protect, and a track. Then, 3 days before game start, GreYMisT completely re-did the role, creating a monster of a role that I couldn't even keep track of. This has got to be the most complex role ever done on this forum. + Show Spoiler + Yugi Moto, The King of Games Welcome to Aperture Mafia! You are Yugi Moto, the King of Games. You were in the middle of a duel when a rift in space and time opened up and dropped you in the middle of Liquidia. After coming to your senses, you realize that the only way you can get back to where you belong is by helping out the town and defeating these so called Tests. As you were already midway through the duel, you only have the cards in your hand, as well as the cards left in your deck to work with. Alright I'm going to level with you and drop the flavor. This role is complicated and it will help if you have understanding of the Yu-Gi-Oh universe. regardless here are your mechanics. Monster Mechanics You may play one monster each Day (excluding day1). When a monster is played, whatever effect it has activates on whatever target is applicable. Monsters persist on the field after being played. Some monsters require "Tributes". This means that if you want to play Blue-eyes White Dragon and i specify it needs 2 tributes, then you must have two monsters on the field to sacrifice before you can play it. Spell Cards Spell cards are one shot actions that may be used during the night, you may only use 1 spell card per night. When a spell is activated, it is gone and cannot be used again. Trap Cards This is where it gets fun. During night 1, you may place each trap card you want on a player and assign each trap a mod-approved keyword (you may not have more than one trap on a player). During any later night phase, you may choose to change the position of any of your trap cards OR change the keyword associated with it. (NOTE: "New" traps may be set and keyworded immediatly upon drawing them, disregarding the "OR" portion of this rule.) At any point during the game, if a “trapped” player says his trap’s keyword, you may type in thread “##Youveactivatedmytrapcard (trap card name)” to have its effect activate. If a player with a trap card dies before it is activated, the card returns to your hand and can be laid again. Once a trap is activated, it is gone and cannot be used again. Trap cards cannot be activated the same turn (night phase) they are laid/moved. General Your starting hand consists of Celtic Guardian (no effect), Breaker the Magical Warrior (Disables all items belonging to a target player for a full cycle), Swords of Revealing Light (Roleblocks target for 2 cycles), And Magical Hats (busses the target with Yugi). At the beginning of each night phase you will draw a card, and will be messaged what it is, as well as its effect. You know the number of total cards that you have is 15 (including the ones in your hand). At any time you may ask the mod for a picture of what your current playing field looks like. When a monster or trap card is activated, a picture of the card will be posted in the thread announcing its summoning. You win with the Town. Your kill flavor is “___Was Sent to the Graveyard!” Cards: Dark Magician Your vote counts for double Breaker the Magical Warrior Disables all items belonging to a target player for a full cycle Celtic Guardian No Effect Kuriboh Sacrifice from your Hand to Prevent all damage to you this cycle. Mystical Elf Yugi gains .5 lives. Copycat Rolename Check Monster Reborn Return a Monster from the Graveyard Pot of Greed Draw Two Cards Swords of Revealing Light Roleblock Target for 2 cycles. Thousand Knives If “Dark Magician” is on the Field, choose and kill one target. (Quickplay spell card: you may use this card during the day.) Change Of Heart Turns a random item held by the target player into a Lemon. Mind Control Watch target player Reverse Trap All effects on Target are Reversed Call of the Haunted Choose a dead player. When this card activates, the target player gains the power of the dead player for one day/night cycle. Mirror Force Protect Magical Hats Bus target with Yugi DECK ORDER: Magical hats, Pot of Greed, Thousand Knives, Call of the Haunted, Reverse Trap, Kuriboh, Dark Magician, Mirror Force,Monster Reborn CopyCat, Mystical Elf, Mind Control, Change of heart. | ||

Velinath for Most Impressive Newbie in Aperture Mafa Kingmaker List Night 3. + Show Spoiler + This order of players was Velinath's town-scum reads from top to bottom on night 3. No one else had any idea wtf was going on in the game, and this rookie busts out impeccable reads in his first game. Note that the only townie mixed in with scum had an anti-town wincon. Really amazing stuff, and GreY and I couldn't believe it when he sent it in. | ||

I made a "best play" reward instead of "best analaysis" because that seemed like a good idea. thank you all for your nominations, let me know if I missed any thing! (Velinath as long as you aren't in your fourth game you're still eligible for impressive newbie ) | ||

link to game: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=324743 I was thinking of nominating this for best play, as marv's best moment comes at the LYLO situation, but overall I think his performance as a newbie+his play in TL LI means he should be on block for most impressive newbie. Essentially Marv spent the first two days fairly constructively, trying to get discussion through. Though he was on two mislynches, the first one was classic D1 mislynch, and the 2nd was from a bad cop claim. He was the first to strongly suspect AND build a strong case on the remaining scum, HiroPro, and in a LYLO situation where the other townie thought he was scum, he brought home the win by beating strongandbig over the head with the WIFOM bat. A good performance overall, IMO. KharadBear's performance in that game was pretty good too. If anyone who was following the game closely thinks KB deserves this nomination more, lemme know. There might be some worthy nominations in TL LI; if anyone feels like looking through for some go for it. | ||

Best Town Player This award is awarded to an individual for outstanding performance as town in a single game. Game Modkills. Seems like Modkills are better at scum hunting these days. -.- | ||

Only one scum on him. He is considered one of the best town players and additionally he had a very strong power role, yet he was lynched day1 for hardly any reason at all. Scum didn't even have to push him actively. Night post I used the same phrasing as the first nomination because it's almost identically true | ||
